If you click where it says Halo it will change to Ground and spawn you on the ground ;)

 

Guess I'm missing something somewhere, this is all I see on the map view:

My only option is double clicking a spot and halo starts.

 

Will try reinstalling and see if more pops up. Was always confused why the inventory selection/map buttons had no label, along with the random icon.

Hmm... guess that's what I get for skimming too fast. Thought that file was just an addon for multi-language support.

Thanks for the help guys and the great scripts! Now if we just had that cool Vehicle Paintshop script of someone's... *cough cough*   ;)

i dont know what you have done wrong here, but looks to me like you did not install correctly ... its kinda hard for me to know what exactly is the problem tho, when you are not explaining what you did to get this result.

Perhaps a video tutorial of the installation process would be in order to assist in dealing with most of these matters. It seems that alot of script creators like to keep things all mysterious or the people who get it working like to keep the installation process a mystery as well. Several people have asked for assistance.. some have gotten it others are still right where they were when they began. I'm not really sure what the big deal of doing the community a solid and helping out with a clear cut installation tutorial. Perhaps someone can do it for everyone.. all the way from creation of the init.sqf to the full on installation of the script. I know its not rocket science.. but some of us are learning how to script and how it all works.. seeing it actually done would help out ALOT of us. Thxs in advance if this can be done.. If not then I really don't have much hope for the community as a whole.

if you are expecting me to make a video or make it any easier than it already is to install, then you are barking up the wrong tree here pal, cause i allready made it as easy as possible to install and i do not have the time to create a video for every script i make and share, not to mention the fact that i already spend my free time writing and changing the script to fit other servers than my own, so you guys can get it free here on the forum.

 

if you want me to do some custom work for you, im sure we can figure something out, but do not ever expect any extra effort from me (especially not in a negative tone), cause it will usually result in you getting disappointed.

apology accepted.

 

first off you should read throug all instructions, all the way trough and follow them to the letter.

 

next you should by then know that if you teleport to the spawn room from somewhere else then the teleporters will not work before you relog (as the script exits for all players that is not near the spawn area).

 

if you are having a problem, it will help me help you, if you can explain what you did when the script failed and post any errors you might get in rpt logs so i can get an idea of what is going on with your server.

 

you can and should also post any edits you have done to the scripts as it is highly likely that it is something you changed that now breaks it as i do not supply broken scripts.

 

from what you are describing it sounds like your problem might be that you missed something when you installed it.

 

if i seems to be ignoring someone it is usually cause they are either asking something that was answered multiple times (either in the thread or in op) or they have annoyed me to a point where i simply have given up on trying to help.

im sorry if you are among those groups.

 

i usually try to help anyone the best i can, but there are limits to my patience.

if whoever im trying to help is refusing to do or try what i say, i cant really help much.

Here's my epoch.Altis.pbo.  Your mod is the only mod I currently have installed.  Everything else is vanilla in a fresh install with a brand new DB.

But the loot on the server is broken.  Vehicles can't be inspected, loot containers are empty, and the searchable objects can't be searched.

Yup, just reverted back to vanilla spawn.  Everything works again and my server is running much more quickly.

 

nobody is forcing you to use this ...

 

if you think it is breaking something, most likely you installed something incorrectly ...

i can only repeat myself:

 

i dont know what you have done wrong here, but looks to me like you did not install correctly ... its kinda hard for me to know what exactly is the problem tho, when you are not explaining what you did to get this result.

 

 

Here's my epoch.Altis.pbo.  Your mod is the only mod I currently have installed.  Everything else is vanilla in a fresh install with a brand new DB.

But the loot on the server is broken.  Vehicles can't be inspected, loot containers are empty, and the searchable objects can't be searched.

from your rpt logs it looks like you have a bad config.cfg and the spawn system is not loaded, but who knows when you only show a fraction of it ...

Hey Halv, got it working.  I got some bad advice from a veteran coder about commenting out the references to donators and registered users and it caused the issue.  I removed the commenting and all is well.  Thank you for the great mod!

Alright, so it was your mod causing desync issues with my server.  I was able to rectify it by changing two small instances of your code in spawndialog.sqf.  You had two instances of "getPosATL" which is notorious for causing desync issues when used for tracking elevation like in the paratrooper drops.

 

What was happening was that every time a player jumped every single player would desync until the jumping player hit the ground.  I simple changed "getPosATL" to "getPos" and everything was right in the world.  All of the desyncs went away after that fix.

you are aparently the only one that has this problem and exactly where did you acquire this information about getposatl?

 

basicly what you are doing is removing the percise elevation mesurement of the player so several instances of the script might fail and since this is all happening on the players side and is not calculated on the server, i cant see how it could possibly desync your server that much.

 

however spawning in about 50+ vehicles with items, per player with a loot script could very well cause this problem ...

 

i think what you have is a prime example of a bad basic.cfg, config.cfg or whatever its called in your setup.

Spoke too soon.  Still getting the desync issue.  Just not sure what exactly about the script is causing the issue.  Right now the only two other scripts I have running are your and Suppe's black market and Darth Rogue's status bar but last night I removed both of those and had only your mod installed.  Even wiped the DB for it just in case.

 

Not sure where you got, "...spawning in 50+ vehicles with items, per player with a loot script..." from.  My server has no loot script and is completely vanilla in that regard.

 

As long as my server has a player in the air, whether it's with getPosATL or getPos, no other players on my server can loot any object or interact with a vehicle until that player has touched down and the server decides to catch up.  The exact behavior my players are reporting as that they'll fall to about 500m and then get shot back up to 1200m.  This is when the desync happens.  Just tested it with both getPos and getPosATL, made no difference which was used.

 

As for my cfgs, here's my basic cfg:

tbh im getting kinda annoyed by you and your speculations about my scripts now ...

 

first off, you said you had this script and a lootscript installed, lootscripts spawn major amounts of weaponholders wich is also vehicles with items in them, these will be spawned and deleted as the players move around (idk why im even explaining this) and creates major desync/lag on any server its installed on.

 

second off, why didnt you just say you had gtx servers to begin with???

you have your root for all your problems right there ... as soon as you switch to a diffrent host i will be willing to help you, untill then pls refrain from posting any or incorrect information in this topic.

 

and then please think about it before saying anthing stupid, if hundres of ppl have downloaded and used this, dont you think someone else would have atleast mentioned something about this before you, if it was even remotely as bad as you describe it??

 

tbh im quite tierd of people with absolutely no experience telling me my scripts are wrong or not working, when they obviusly have no idea what they are talking about, not to mention the hundres of others that are using this every day with absolutley no problems at all, including some of the major servers that has never mentioned anything like this to me.

Yup, never once said I had any loot spawn scripts installed.  Just re-read every single post I made in this this thread.  Have no idea where you got that from.

 

All I was looking for was a little guidance on this issue.  I'll uninstall the mod immediately and stop bugging you.

       Dude, congrats for the script, is awesome, i saw it on someone's server and i waned to try it in my server, on Chernarus map... and, i putted all the files, integrated all the codes, but when i am in the game and i try to spawn, is nothing happening :( I click "space" on the mark from respawn point and that's it, nothing else... This is happening on every point i try to get respawned... and i stay only in the lobby screen :D

 

Can you help me, please?

it sounds like you changed something in the settings files and and perhaps forgot a comma or place an extra somewhere it should not be.

 

what did you change and what errors do you get in your client rpt files?

halv I have a question.. I got it all to load in finally.. now when I am in admin mode in InfiSTAR it loads fine and works fine.. when I remove myself from the run.sqf when I load in fresh to the server after suiciding to make sure I'm fresh I get the spawn dialog option on the pedestals for a sec then infistar loads up on the server (I am not an admin at this point because I removed my GUID) and it disappears and all I see at the pedestal is the Inventory selection ring around it.. I have the addition of the 7777 for the dialogs idd in the run.sqf but still happening. The spawndialog.hpp is added in the description file above my infistar

I had to add an exception 22 to the scripts.txt and an exception 40 as well.. just seems like something in infistar is stopping it. As I said it loads up briefly and I get the select spawn point dialog and then it disappears and I cant get it back till I do a full restart on the server. So far it appears I've done everything correct. now I'm just stumped
