  1. Please bear with me if this spawn dialog is not perfect, as it is my first time creating one ... The Short intro: This is an easy 2 line install, "complete" Spawn system with everything described in the headline and more ... The Long Intro: This is an easy 2 line install, "complete" spawn system (3lines if you want dead body check, 4 if you do not have my killfeed installed already) you can: Select gear screen (can be switched off) Add random gear (if above is switched off or not all items are selected) 2 levels of Custom gear for donors setup custom spawns setup 2 levels of donor spawns set a custom name to any custom location (if none is added it will just use nearest city name if one is avalible) add pictures to your spawn room (one for each wall, no pictures included) replace default teleporters with custom ones (to disable the default teleport option) or just add an extra scroll option to the default teleporters spawn near group leader (can be switched off) spawn near jammer (can be switched off completly now so nobody gets any errors) disable spawns near players dead body, with configurable distance (requires my killfeed installed) run credits or other script on spawn (simple credits file is included) User can select to spawn with halo jump or ground spawn (or can be set to forced in any way you want) will work on any map that spawns a "Debug_static_F" (even unsupported maps, alltho you might need to add spawn locations) i have already added spawn locations for altis, stratis, bornholm and chernarus any other map will ned custom locations added. NOTE: a player that has already spawned or did not spawn in near the clone room, will NOT have the option to spawn, if you teleport there to test it, pls relog before clicking the scroll action on the console, or it will NOT show anything. to install this you will need to download the attached files and add them to your mission, then add this line in your init.sqf (outside any if statements): [] execVM "addons\halv_spawn\init.sqf"; now in description.ext add the very top: if you already have a Halv_defines.hpp, then you can skip the step below, as you do not need another, infact your server will fail to load if you have more than one in description.ext!. (but please refrain from stupid questins already answered in the settings files) if you have infistar antihack, you will need to in run.sqf add this number here, like this: _allowedDialogs = [-1,602]; to this: _allowedDialogs = [-1,602,7777]; i do not currently have a good picture of the dialog, so if someone could share could pls one i can use? I will not support changing this so players cannot get all items (including donor items) or locations on random spawns. [SOLVED] All below has to do with a spawned in truck being used as a loot crate. this setHit [""wheel_2_3_steering"", 1]; I know that the 2 points to the right side of the vehicle. 3 points to the middle tire. The 1, if let at 1 removes the tire. I'm i right so far? If so, if I lower the 1 to lets say 0.50 it will leave the tire on and have 50% damage?
  4. Hi, I've recently tried to edit the spawn select mod and everytime a player dies, I get the message displayed twice Bob was Killed Bob was killed. When the player respawns the spawn select isn't there and I spawn into worldspace with the same items as when I died and 2 of my old bodies on the floor. Hey guys, First of all, I'd like to say a massive thanks to the dev's and community contributors for the recent release of 1.0.6.1 - Me and my buddies did try DayZ Standalone and Arma3 Epoch but it's just not the same! I'm really happy that I've been able to install Epoch 1.0.6.1 and have a fully working version of what I consider "Original DayZ" (with the zombs!!!) So anyway, I've pretty much got my server set-up how I want it now but just wondered if someone could explain how I can add in the ability for player to select a spawn point/area? - I've seen in some online YouTube videos that players running Epoch can select a town/city to spawn near?   10. In Epoch 1.0.5.1 on Napf, the boats that you buy spawned on top of the empty heli pad in the water. In 1.0.6.1 on Napf when you buy a boat, it spawns 50m away from the spawn point, what a long swim lol. This happens at all boat trader. I have deleted the heli pads and in editor created new ones. Still doing the same thing. Anyone else having this problem or have a solution?
  11. DZAI static spawns

    Is there a way to comment out a spawn point in DZAI so they do not spawn in certain areas like the airstrip on Napf?
  12. We spawn "swimming in the ground" very consistently. Only occasionally spawning above ground. If we are admin, and have admin tools, we can teleport out of it, but otherwise, we just swim around in the dirt for ever. What could be causing this?   13. New Default Spawn Zones

    I removed the standard Epoch spawns and static traders within the spawns and and replaced everything with new spawns and traders. By default the spawns have a safe zone included but in case you want to have a bigger diameter of it, i attached Friendlys "Extended Safe Zone Script" and an edited version of the mission.sqm. In each spawn i placed either one or two boxes which can be used as a temporary storage. If you purchase items and you dont have enough space in your inventory you can put them into the storage. All items will be gone after a restart tho. Additional in each spawn i placed an atm and phone boxes so that players are able to access their bank accounts. Server Info. Server IP = 62.4.22.123:3302 There is a starter pack available if you would like a little help getting into the server, just ask an Admin in game. Indestrucatable Bases and Base Raiding All Walls and Metal Floors are indestructable after restart. Other parts like wooden objects and ALL Doorways are not. This means that players can base raid. If the player running the raid can manage to find your plot pole and maintain it then all parts will then become destructable meaning they will be able to get to safes, lockboxes vechicles etc... whatever you have made safe! My advice would be to creat a box room only accessed by wooden stairs so if teh door is blown out the stairs will also go so no access to the pole! Group Management Press F5 and F6 in game or right click your radio. Advanced building When you collect gems you will have a right click option on them to be able to build lots of cool objects. They will stay after restart and can really change the way your base works and looks! This is a PVP Server so you will die at some point! We have a cool community of friendly heros and bandits, so jump on and get in The Hive.   15. I'm trying to use the little pads that allow you to "spawn in", but for some reason It won't let me. Using all the actions possible in the game, I still couldnt spawn in PLEASE HELP I WOULD LOVE TO PLAY THIS MOD!!!!!!!

    I've been working on a United Sahrani map and have a question about where the server pulls the buildings and trader positions for the spawn areas from. I would have thought it was from the map.h file in the @epochhive\addons\a3_epoch_server_settings\configs\maps but this file is empty of anything in the propPos or staticNpcPos. where is the server finding the building and trader postions for the spawn areas, I would like to remove these objects.   19. Greetings, I am rather new to the whole DayZ Epoch server thing.. Decided to set one up and I am getting an error, perhaps someone could help me out here? Everything was working 100% fine until I installed ESSV2 - (Enhanced Spawn Selection) then things went wrong, my arma2oaserver.RPT is below Addons I have installed: The issue: I either get stuck on "Requesting character data from server" or just a black screen with the DayZ logo, tried waiting around 10 minutes and still no change, however a small timer on the bottom right corner still counts up.. What I have tried: My RPT file: Any help would be much appreciated!
  20. INTRODUCTION Hello, It has been a LONG time since i have posted. Anyways, I have been playing epoch for years now. I have seen many changes and put many hours into it. I have to say, 99% of the time i have put into epoch, i have enjoyed. It was BY FAR my favorite mod for Arma 2. However, I have noticed the last year that most private servers almost ALL have spawn select (the type where you can spawn in any and every town), and you also spawn with the biggest backpack and biggest gun, ETC. Where is the skill and fun in that? 90% of all recent servers seem to be based on easily acquiring gear and killing each other. To make it worse, lots of servers seem to have donator kits, where you are given HUGE amounts of building materials to build some HUGE unnecessary base at the cost of new players being sniped at the coast right as they spawn. It has been my mission to find servers that still has a survivor essence, a server where you have to EARN everything. A server in which nothing is handed to you on a golden platter, A server where running 5k meters is the norm, a CHALLENGE. My Experience with the [HAF] (heavily armed forces) clan/group My good friend, jase (bigbasser), recommended I try a new server that he has been playing on. As he explained the features of the server to me, I got very excited and anxiously wanted to see if it was any different from the many servers out there that i talked about. The server had many positive features, Tow/lift, multiple Epoch Mission systems, Challenging roaming Ai, no spawn selection(good thing), no spawning with a ridiculous gun, no starter backpack(good thing). So I gave in, i joined the server and started my journey. In the past i was always reluctant to try overpoch, but i gave in and decided that i would deal with it. I will skip all the little things and get straight to the problems. I was talking to the owner(Gunner) and a few admins. I asked, "is there anybody i should worry about when it comes to bandits?" one of the admins (jablome/arrow) replied, "yes, conartist and Bam, they will literally kill you on sight" so i remembered that and said "if i see them i will happily take them out for you". what i did not know was that Conartist and Bam(bam is from the UK) were "superadmins". In this particular server, admins were able to spawn in anything they want, retrieve door codes, safe codes, teleport, god mode, the whole nine yards. You can see where this is becoming a problem right? Anyways, i get invited to the "admin base" only to be greeted by a huge floating platform connected to ZUB castle. they have many vehicles, mostly armored SUVs, fuel trucks, many urals. I am not saying they were not legit, but i had my doubts because most of them barely had over 50 hours of IG experience. One day, i was in a teamspeak call with Bam, conartist and Gunner(server owner). I am not sure why or what happened, but i was listening to them coordinating a base raid on another admin beacause they were mad that they lost a few vehicles.(they were just sitting in the open, unlocked) Before I tell you what they said, may i add that leter i was told by Jablome that every admin just checks the server logs to see who they got raided by when they are raided. I heard them saying things like "what are we gonna say when they ask how we got in here?" Another responded by saying that: "we can just make something up like we will say we stole his key and that when we came here the safe was unlocked." may i add that the server just restarted and after restarts, everything locks automatically. I can keep going on with the stories, but Gunner, the server owner is the same way, is abusive in his ways aswell. They told me at least twice that everything they had was "legit" LOL. not. My friend was there since they started the server, he watched them spawn in supply boxes. Yeah "legit" they were. lol. Their server was SOO close to getting things right when it came to gameplay However, admins who abuse, is unacceptable and ruins the fun. How can you expect new players to join and put lots of time into a server when you are gonna raid them using your admin powers? If you read all the way thru this, cheers. thank you for reading.   21. SPAWN VEHICLES OFF MAP

    I am building the FATA Map, and I have a problem with Spawn Velicles spawning off the map. Also the missions that come from dayz_server\modules are spawning off the map.   22. Behavior of NPCs

    We are new to ArmA3 Epoch, playing since several days, several hours a day, coop/pve, no pvp, on a rented server, password secured. Is it usual that Zappers, for example, spawn right behind your back and explode instantly? This happened very often to us, nothing to hear, nothing to see, the next second - Booom In the whole time we just were able to shoot drones and some of those skinny zappers, never managed to kill such a fat one, even if we blew everything we had(never that much) in it´s head, it´s body, nothing seems to stop them before killing us. We never found a toolbox or toolkit, once in the whole time a sledgehammer, till ten minutes later the next suicidal bomber spawned right behind us, leaving us no chance again. We never saw a helicopter and the traders only sell almost useless stuff. But the worst thing, it seems that bases are completely useless. At the same second a drone spawned and a fat zapper spawned. The Zapper right in our base(doors locked), killed two of us. I got out to shoot the drone which spawned soldiers instantly after it´s spawning, so i had to go back in our base, locked the door, wanted to use a medikit, i turn around and in our base are those soldiers, killing me. Doors were locked and base intact. My buddies decided then to go back to arma2 epoch, because they said there you can have some fun while playing, because they say it´s kind of fair and balanced. But i never tried it and to be honest, i´m really tired of that zombiestuff, and i like the graphics from arma3, don´t feel the need to do a step backwards with graphics. So my question is: Do we have to change the server files for a better gameplay in coop/pve(which didn´t work for us yet, wouldn´t let us upload to the server, but we will manage that)? If yes, what exactly do we have to change? Because as it is now, we have no chance, we find a lot of weapons, but almost never the ammo for these guns and if, way to less. We can´t buy guns, tools, ammo or vehicles at none of the traders, NPCs need a huge amount of hits, most time more than we have ammo, they spawn or glitch into our base, Zappers spawn in your "trouserpockets" and explode. One of us alone can´t play on the server, because he will die in any case, and than there is nobody to save our truck or the stuff from the player. What do we have to do, we are tired to play those alpha-crafting-gathering-building-"survival" games with their "wonderfull" graphics and minimum content, just waiting for another update that let´s you play another hour before getting bored from it again. ArmA3 Epoch has mature graphics, huge maps and enough content, and i/we don´t want to play any other game atm, but it would be fun if it would be a little more fair and playerfriendly. So that at least we have a little chance and not everything we do is useless. I/We want to play Epoch so hard, but as it is now... Help please... xD
  23. Spawned in sea & Lost Everything

    Spawned me in sea with all my wicked equipment, couldn't see any land for 5mins so disconnected, then when I respawned I had lost everything which took me ages to find, but what really done me head in is I lost all my Krypto which I Banked, was a joke, if it happens again I defo cant play this, I enjoyed it up until that, still devastated though, i'll take screenshots next time, defo is a major bug - PFE HiddenHippo (steam=rguyett) - I think
