Side Missions

So, Im trying to install side missions for my epoch server, but so far I've not had any luck getting it working. It seems that whenever I make any changes to the server pbo it just doesnt work, server wont authenticate and I can press esc and spawn in the middle of nowhere, so Ive obviously done something wrong or its just a bug with dayz.st cos Ive noticed even when I make really simple changes to the server pbo it doesnt work when I re-upload it.. Anyway, if anyone could help me with getting side missions working on the latest epoch it would be much appreciated, thanks.

I don't - I've never actually run Panthera -  but honestly all you would have to edit were the custom spawns in the WAI folder to get it rolling. (using the cherno package)  don't overwrite your mission.sqm/sqf

you wouldn't have trader safe zones until you added them into the panthera sqm

I just have two problems:

 

1 - Server_traders disappear at the panthera spots if I copy all the coding (except for mission sqf files and description file).

2 - I seen on some servers where the AIs missions starts, it would appear on the screen saying "chopper has crashed" and a circle area that shows up. Does the files you have used that function?

whoa, yeah, your going to need the panthera traders sqf - didn't think about that

 

Let me do a fast wipe of cherno so you can use pathera with it -ill update this post in a few minutes

give that a try - I don't have a box to test it on - but it should work fine

(because I don't have the map running I can't do any custom AI bases for it , sorry )

Yes- use three different mission systems actually -  they blend well together

not sure what you are using to package the files - but it appears to not be prefixing them correctly

 

for giggles -    lets say we are using C:\  (on your hard drive)

create a Z folder, and a addons folder

 

c:\z\addons

place the dayz_server folder inside the addons folder, and then package the server pbo.   (do this for the mission as well, just in case)

don't package Z, just package the dayz_server folder it's self, having it inside the z\addons is more than enough for some reason.

 

I know this trick works for Eliteness  (included in the other download package , if you want to grab it to have eliteness)

I am actually running this on a windows 7 machine since I am trying to set this up as a LAN server.

 

I copied Arma and all the files over to a folder called Dayz in C:\dayzserver\dayz\(FILES)

 

If i need to compile this (which I can), which folders and files would i need to compile into a dayz_server.pbo

I tried to recompile it (added the sidemissions.sqf and whatever else i was missing into the module folder) into dayz_server.pbo but I still don't see any missions showing up.

 

Going to try a fresh reinstall and see if I can get it to work.

I have no idea why you would try to add anything to the server pbo - it was already complete - I packaged the dayz_server pbo , simply over write the default one located inside

C:\dayzserver\dayz\@dayz_server_epoch\addons   with the one contained in this zip

Most of the missions are set to random ( the solid color circles - blue, red, yellow , orange, green) the other missions, red hashed circles are always going to have AI guarding them.

 

Play for a bit before you try tweaking numbers of AI - I think once you get to see what's being placed on the map you will see why they are set they way they are

 

Tweaking AI numbers for the most part is done inside the individual mission it's self

Take clothing is not enabled - 

   I've not followed up with the recent releases of that script - but , last I knew it opened the door to a duping items bug. If you want to add it to the package just follow the install instructions from the script maker - all the required files are inside the custom folder (fn_selfactions and such)
