    A3EAI Factions

    Greetings all! I have a private server for only my family to play on. We are playing on Arma 3 Epoch (Australia) and use Face's A3EAI addon. I am trying to figure out how to make the AI have 2 different factions. I don't care if they are friendly towards players or not, I just want gunfights happening randomly instead of ONLY with the players; the AI should be shooting at each other sometimes, too. I've spoken with Face and he has set me on the right direction, but he is very busy and has been more than kind in getting me started; so now I come to the family for help. First, how do I set this code in A3EAI_initserver.sqf to make two factions? I know it's only a matter of 1 and 0 switches, I am just not sure which way. Second, once that is complete, would I just change this code in A3EAI_servermonitor.sqf to match it? And finally, how do I make a case switch that makes the addon spawn either a West group or East group? I feel like it would be here (A3EAI_createUnit.sqf), but I don't know for sure. I am still very new at this. Any and all help is VERY appreciated. Arma 2 and 3 have proven wonderful for my family in terms of spending time together and enjoying each other's company. I am trying to do everything I can to keep it interesting and fun for everyone. Thanks, everybody!
  2. Hi, I'm creating a COOP event for a server that I play on and I'm trying to get confirmation of the player's side they belong to in Epoch. I'm assuming West but knowing for sure would cancel out any doubt. Cheers.
  3. So download epoch like 8 days ago, loving it. But I don't have a side chat or radio chat or see kill feeds or sever restarts time warnings. So am I dumb and missing a setting or just a bug, my friends have to tell me when server restarting and stuff. My chat worked on anything but epoch if you even call the chat. I checked GUI and it not off screen it right where it is on any other server or mod on arma III, and I even resized it to see if it helps. It didn't Also I know I need a radio for radio chat, I have one. :) Hope this is not a normal bug with a fix already, just didn't see it asked and it a problem for me so.

    Side Missions

    So, Im trying to install side missions for my epoch server, but so far I've not had any luck getting it working. It seems that whenever I make any changes to the server pbo it just doesnt work, server wont authenticate and I can press esc and spawn in the middle of nowhere, so Ive obviously done something wrong or its just a bug with dayz.st cos Ive noticed even when I make really simple changes to the server pbo it doesnt work when I re-upload it.. Anyway, if anyone could help me with getting side missions working on the latest epoch it would be much appreciated, thanks.
  5. Hi guys, a simple question really, but I can't seem to find anything conclusive related to my question online... When putting custom buildings into the server.pbo is there a limit on how much you can add? The reason I am asking is when I put all my custom areas in some of the buildings in certain .sqf's (not all) ignore z axis and build to the terrain rather than upright, yet when I test each individual .sqf on their own the buildings in each .sqf build perfectly upright (as they should - I have "this setvectorup [0,0,1]" set for all the relevant buildings). I have 14 individual .sqf files. They total 1431.95KB. My single largest .sqf file is 377KB. I am quite lost on this one. For more information I use call compile preprocessFileLineNumbers as my call function for each area. Thanks in advance for any help regarding this. Ian - blackwiddow - Ixxo

Once you have finished doing all of your editing on your map in Arma's 3D Editor.Save your map under what ever you want.For Example we will use MyMapName. Once Saved correctly it goes here: C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\ArmA 2\missions\MyMapName Step 2. Open the mission.sqm file in MyMapName folder. Copy all of the code in your file. Code From Our Example: _vehicle_11 = objNull; if (true) then { _this = createVehicle ["Land_Mil_Barracks_i", [4635.2856, 10493.992, 3.0517578e-005], [], 0, "CAN_COLLIDE"]; _vehicle_11 = _this; _this setDir 58.857197; _this setPos [4635.2856, 10493.992, 3.0517578e-005]; }; The code above is just one building,Make sure to copy all of the buildings like that. do not copy the playable character you used in the editor. Step 3. And save this file in you mission folder. Now in your mission folder open your init.sqf,After that scroll towards the bottom and paste the code below on the bottom of the init.sqf file. Code: //buildings [] ExecVM "buildings.sqf"; Finale : Pack up your mission.pbo and upload and test ! If you need anything such as help please don't hesitate to ask,Just upload your mission.pbo with everything and your mission.sqm
