Humanity Doubling - Help Needed

Since 105 or 1051 (since 105 was only around for a day before 1051 came out...) I have had strange goings on with humanity.

 

Sometimes and for some players, not all, it randomly doubles either each time they relog or at server restart. I haven't been able to pin it down more than that. The problem last month was quite rare so, I didn't bother with it after a quick google didn't find anything. However, over the last 2-3 weeks it has developed into a more serious problem. It seems to be happening to some players, not all and the same players. It can happen 3-4 times a day for some players and has resulted in them having humanity in the +/- millions.

 

I have googled around again and can't see anything posted....?

 

I have tried the obvious and systematically turned off and on all additional scripts/changes for the last month and haven't been able to narrow it down to any of them either. We are a pretty loaded server with all the usual popular scripts: DZ Group Management, Enhanced Spawn Selection, infiSTAR, Logistics, WAI, EMS, infiSTAR SafeZones to name a few...

 

The server is high population and a managed virtual server so, unfortunately I don't have the luxury of a dev server to test with and have to be careful with what I'm doing with the live based on the population.

 

Is anyone else seeing this problem at all on their server?

 

Would appreciate any help.

Correct.  I was under the impression that BlurGaming was the distributor for Infistar.  That being the case, how will we be able to get updates in the future?

 

They are just one of the ways you can get Infistar. You can buy it directly from the author here: http://infistar.de/

 

He sends updates to those people that bought from him. If Blur Gaming is not going to sell it or provide updates anymore, I hope they've come to an arrangement with the author to provide updates to those of you that didn't buy directly from the author.

We will see.  I just sent an email directly to Infistar asking how updates will work moving forward.  Hopefully he will let folks roll over from Blur to himself and not have to purchase again.  Will let you guys know what I learn.

We're having the humanity problem as well now it would seem but it has not affected everybody only one that I can see currently.

I purchased infiSTAR via blur and Chris has sent me updates (I don't seem to get every version though) so he may send them but would probably need to prove it was purchased.

I received an email from Blur with a promo code to use at Infistar's site to subscribe for updates directly from him.  I won't list the code here for obvious reasons.  If you subscribed to Infistar AH tools through Blur, check your email and you should get the promo code.  If not, shoot Blur an email and request it.

 

But I do have to say, only getting 50% off is total BS.  Why should we have to pay again for something we already paid for?  It is no fault of we the consumers that Blur decided to stop acting as a reseller between us and Infistar.  The fair thing would be for Infistar to pick up any Blur subscribers, no questions asked.  Kinda upset about this......

Maybe the dev for Infistar was only getting 50% of what you were paying and the other 50% went to Blur and that's why you are only getting 50% off. Before I bought Infistar, I asked where I should buy it from because I was confused by the two sites and it was recommended I get it directly from the dev of infistar, which is where I bough it from.

Sounds likely, Blur took some of the money and took a lot of the support requests.

I didn't know until two days ago that Infistar sold his tools directly.  I thought Blur was his distributor.  Had I known I could have gotten the milk straight from the cow I would have done it that way from the start.

Since I only have a few releases of InfiSTAR I dropped back to 334 which also fixes the issue.  I don't have a choice in the matter since I have that, 335, and 335C.  Hopefully I will get something soon so I can enjoy the new features and not have the issue.

Same as above >.> i got only one version which is 335...... i just found another bug in 335, dont know if it is only 335 or 335ABCDEF too, but if you got a normal spawned chopper and someone destory the engine, you can just press Q and the engine will be repaired again, think its AH related cause for a admin i did not work.

I could cry.... i try to find a fix by myself but i try it in serveral ways..... i cant find the problem where it came from, it seems the hummanity doubled while logging and not instead after switching the skin.

Its allready fixed in newer version, my last version ive got was 335. and as far as i know the latest ist 335D

its hard to keep a check on what people are running that have the problem. not sure if the op can change initial post to a poll with multiple choices and then have a list of all mods people have said so they can vote and see what main ones are to help sort out what it could be etc

The problem is that no one has narrowed down specifically what event doubles the humanity, so even if you were to test it on a 100% vanilla Epoch server, how would you know what to do to double it? From the beginning I doubted it was Infistar. Chris hasn't told us what he changed to supposedly fix it, but he obviously does think Infistar is the cause if he's releasing updates to "fix" the humanity bug.
