Just a silly request here, but any chance of adding the ability to make a player, or all players, dance?

 

This could be a large hindrance to players on the server. I think it would be a bad idea to add this. I understand that a server is made and maintained by owners (I came across this while setting up my server), but hindering all players for a bit of enjoyment is not really a good way to run a server. Some may use it responsibly, but I have a feeling it will cause more problems than it will enjoyment.

Then the delete function should be removed in case an admin decides to remove a players base for their own enjoyment...

Delete function has a practical use making plays dance doesn't.

 

Your argument was that it would be abused. The delete function could be abused too. So could the invisibility function, and the teleport function. I'm sure most, if not all, admins wouldn't abuse the function. It would be a fun function to have for those that want to dance on their server, just to do a "silly" thing. It would also be a good way to punish hackers, griefers, or asshats.

The problem is not abuse, the problem is that it would cause problems for many players. Imagine you are in a gun fight with a rival to get some good loot and all of a sudden you start dancing. Now imagine this on a server with 50 people. If the dance function is individualized to players so they can choose to do it themselves then yes it would be a fun thing to have in there, but to force the server to do this would be a huge annoyance to many players. I apparently missed the part where you said a single player, but all players would be a problem. Having the ability to make yourself dance, as a player, would be quite fun. I like that idea quite a bit. I would see this falling under a different tool however. The main goal of this one at the moment is administration tools only. Anything that can help the server admins fix any possible problems and set up events. Gregarious has the say in if it makes it into the tool though. I am just here to help him and make suggestions. I think it would actually be awesome to make an optional fun menu in the tools after we sort out all the problems that are there so far.

Now imagine an admin decides a base he finds is nicer than his and he deletes it. The player comes on to find 3 weeks of work gone. Any argument that it would be abused is moot.

 

If the main goal is administration, what purpose does the skin menu serve? To what end does an admin changing his skin accomplish? What about the flying option? Does that have a real purpose? Even ESP doesn't serve a purpose. I've removed all three of those options from my menu.

Vehicle God Mode UPDATED

  • No longer removes player god mode.
  • It is not exactly a god mode. It repairs broken items on the vehicle immediately so if the vehicle is hit with a missile or a chopper is crashed into a building it will still blow up. Essentially it is a Vehicle Auto Repair.
  • The next commit will change the scroll menu to read Vehicle Auto Repair instead of god mode until I find a better way to do this. It currently works, as stated above and the next commit to it will only change the name in the menu.

Then you can spawn any kind of missions in any place when you wanted. To make special event or simply to get some sort of fresh and new mission when Admin wanting...

Update!

 

Updated Crate Menu to increase clarity, ease of use, and personalization:

  • Removed Last Stand, Medical, Money, Repair, Skins, and Tools crates.
  • Replaced above crates with a single "Items Crate".
  • Added "(Most) Weapons Crate" for users who don't want to scroll through the massive All Weapons/Items Crate to find a weapon.
  • Added CRATE_TEMPLATE.sqf as a baseline for users who want to make their own crates.

 

Also, Fixed Vehicle Godmode (Thanks @NoxSicarius)

  • Fixed the vehicle god mode not working and fixed it disabling the normal player god mode.
  • Changed vehicle god mode to toggle.
  • Changed the scroll menu to reflect this change.

I like this idea. It would be very useful if you want to create a custom mission that can be ran at any point in time by an admin too. Now the problem is are you referring to the missions in the Epoch or the ones from a different pluggin. If it is the one in the mod we can do it, if it is from another pluggin then that is up to the OP. I would gladly work on this after we get the main tool features up and running.

Hmm. I just tried adding all the backpacks to the new "All Items" crate, but of all the types of crate class names I've tried, they all can only fit one backpack.

_spawnCrate addBackpackCargoGlobal ["DZ_LargeGunBag_EP1", 1];

Anything more than the above and the rest of the backpacks get tossed out onto the ground when the crate spawns.

 

 

Consider using a different container. Maybe there is a container that can hold more or you can take a container that is not normally used and edit its capacity to hold more if needed.

The Skins Menu was there when I got here, and Flying and ESP can serve a very useful purpose with administration. You've spoken against all of these things, but what I haven't heard yet is your argument FOR having a Dance Menu. What purpose would that serve? Why do you believe that having a Dance Menu would be a good addition for a set of admin tools?

 

It was merely a suggestion and a couple of greenhorns came along and bashed the idea. It has no purpose, just like the skins, flying and ESP menu. If you want to add it, that's up to you. Only recommending a new feature.

I love these admin tools great work guys !

 

A quick request , would it be possible to add a daylight/night time change ?

 

I make a lot of edits at night when fewer or no players are on and don't have the luxury of a test server. So being able to have a quick temporary change of server time (primarily to daylight) to test new additions would be useful.

I have no issues with including something like this. Perhaps I can combine it and the Skins Menu into a "Fun Menu" of some kind. But I have no interest in coding it, so if you want to make it and create a pull request, you're more than welcome.

You're welcome to create your own crates, but I'd like to simplify the default Admin Tools so that there isn't a crate for each category of items. I'll try using something other than crates and boxes and report back if it works. A backpack lockbox or something might come in handy.

As for the "Backpack Crate", it's more like a "Backpack Tent". Since crates can't hold more than 1 backpack, and using lockables like vaults don't correctly output the code to get in them, and using a shed could damage the player since it spawns on top of them, a tent seems to be the best option. It can hold a maximum of 7 backpacks, so I chose the top 7 backpacks with the most storage according to the wiki.

Added "Backpack Tent" to the Crate Menu:

  • Spawns a tent with the top 7 backpacks that have the most storage

Any way of getting a more advanced permission system where we can select who gets what and possibly add more levels?

 

At the moment this is dependent on the owner to configure usable admin/mod abilities in the AdminToolsMain.sqf. It should just be a matter of commenting out the features you don't want your Mods to use, or adding the ones you do. You can get a list of all available features in the top "Level: Admin" menu.

 

I realize this isn't an optimum system, but it's a start. I'm open to any enhancements in this area so long as it keeps the system simple and customizable for the end-user. 

 

Curious, how many ranks/levels would you need?

I plan on overhauling the customization of that menu later. I have a decent idea to make it easily changeable. If I need a break from the main code I can set this up at some point. My time is better spent on this admin script for now though. I am pretty close to getting teleport to work without antihack problems  :D At least I think I am... Once I get this done I might actually go ahead and add that in for the users since it was requested and should take only a short while.
