Restart Announces don't work!

Hi guys,

I need help with my Vilayer server. My announces are not working on my server at all...

I have made the steps to get them to work but still no luck, maybe someone will be able to help out with this...

I have installed "Battleye Extended Controls" in the Add Ons menu

Then I moved on to the file : "servermessages\messages.cfg" and wrote the following inside

So this should be warning players every 3 hours (I want restarts every 3h)

Are there any problems here?

I have also changed the settings in my Scheduled Tasks:

My Time zone is also set to UTC 0

Can you let me know if there is anything wrong with this?

What do you have in the servermessages\settings.cfg area? It should point to your server address and your rcon pw.

I've had this same issue. Oddly enough, Battleye was turned off :lol:

I can't get the messages to come up on my server ether! Neither BEC or following Vilayer's own tutorial to the letter is working.

Really frustrating as we can't send the server public without warnings about restarts!

If you are in the configuration editor rather than the test editor you can see "Battleye" and a drop down with enable disable

In text editor it looks like this:

Alternatively, you can also check in the text editor. Look for this:

as you can see mine is enabled yet I still have no server messages. Is there anything else I can try?

Only other thing I came across - seems like there's a timezone offset no matter what you set in your profile. So, I just created a message file like this to see when messages are actually firing off:

01:30:00~ 01:30:00~

01:45:00~ 01:45:00~
02:00:00~ 02:00:00~

.....

Turns out that I need to set all entries in the schedule to (-2) hours for them to display at the proper time.

Vilayer came back to us saying we had no RCon password set..

Must have forgotten since we wiped it a couple day ago

The server messages that you are using are an added script to send messages via Rcon, this is not the same as the BEC scheduler.

The hours are off anyway. I will need to modify them 1 hour ahead to see if its spot on...

Just for anyone who will find this topic with similar problems:

In order for the announces to work spot on time, I had to change the hours even though my Time zone was set correctly etc.

My current Scheduler code looks like this:

Good to see it's working for you now. We all have issues with the scripts and it's good to find a place where people are willing to take time, and make a post to help somebody out. I know I've found many answers to my problems so I like to pay it back when I can, which isn't often...lol
