  1. This is mine. Just add the steam64 ID and change the name. Remove any not needed. Check format and save.

    adminMenu_Owner[] = {{"STEAM64IDHERE","AWOL"},{"STEAM64IDHERE","Axle"},{"STEAM64IDHERE","Melly"},{"STEAM64IDHERE","Warlock"},{"STEAM64IDHERE","Mike"},{"STEAM64IDHERE","Spoons"}};

  2. So what would you put as a "ADMINNAME"?

For example if my character I play as is "Conroy Kinkaid" would I put that as the admin name exactly?

The name honestly doesn't matter, So for you as admin you should put "Conroy" But you could put "Pinktoesstuffedintacoswithbeansandtoastbecausewhythefunknot" but as long as you know that name is for you then in the logs you can find yourself.

  3. Please remember that we are just past 0.3 of alpha and haven't even given you guys the juicy parts yet. So like I say when I have something that I'm excited about...................

    STAY TUNED!   B)

  4. Btw, someone told me other/some people involved with the dev of the epoch mod "would" or "could" go after me in the case that I used infistar (that we did up till a few days ago).. Could these problems (since they have surfaced recently, for no apparant reason) be because of someone backdooring in, and deliberately put this game breaking issue in somehow (I know it would be possible for us with some of the software we build, that's why I'm wondering the above)? Just a rumour someone passed onto me, no accusations here.. I just want to get to the bottom with my issues (and do things correctly by the mod developers..)!

We do not have the time nor do we care much what you run on the server. But if it breaks our license it's another issue. But it doesn't apply here.

As for you initial issue, Best bet is to run a test server.

In order to get good results you need to narrow down what is happening and make sure it's controlled.

1 Just run Default Epoch with Default settings at max players for a few days or less to at least get a baseline. Use ASM and Client feedback

A: Make sure the build limit is maxed on the server and people have populated tents/shelves/lockboxes.

B: Start adding your mods one at a time while monitoring stability with clients and ASM.

C: Do your calls fight with our calls? in regards to customizing your server.

    2. Are those players using SLI or Crossfire? A well known cause of your issue can and usually is caused by multi GPU's Even if it's a Single card Dual GPU card. It can and will cause micro stutters.

    3. Are your players using up to date drivers or preferred drivers for the specific game. Do they have any useless software that might conflict with driver/game settings?

    4. Do you have any scheduled tasks running when this occurs, for example: Antivirus, Defrag, adware, malware.

The plain fact is that if you can discount the many many issues that can and will cause a micro stutter/shudder/shutter or however it's known. Then I'd have to say it's probably due to the max limit of your building/vehicles and objects in general.

It could help to know your build limit, vehicle limit, storage limit, and mods being used with the average number of players during peak hours or at the time of occurrence.

  5. Project Reality was special, real special. The stand alone version that is Squad was always going to get the 'green light'.

Epoch was great on Arma2 DayZ, not so on Arma3 and it shows when you compare the player numbers of DayZ Epoch with Arma3 Epoch.  Personally I think it would struggle to get the 'green light' unless the devs came up with something ground breaking.

It's to soon to tell. As of right now DayZ Epoch is still the most popular mod on Arma 2 with well over 2 million hours in the last 30 days alone. Arma 3 Epoch is still very new and already second in stats when it comes to most played mod for the engine.

The great thing about your post is that you are right, we haven't done much ground breaking at this point as it's been much about getting a framework to build off of. Once that's settled in place we can start to shift the focus to new and exciting things that we haven't even shared with the community yet :D

  6. When I first got involved with this project I asked AWOL what his plans were. He told me this, I plan on making a mod for Arma 2 and releasing it, then Arma 3 if they make it. Then after that if we could, make our own game.

I've started playing with the UE4 engine and have made some progress, but it's a far cry from where I want to be. I spend at least 8 hours a day learning what I can and continue to progress. In time I hope to be a valued asset of the team and make something everyone can enjoy for a long time.

So far I've figured out how to make/setup particles for animations and control them. I can make blend spaces with animations and link them to movement keys to get a character to move. I've imported a heightmap I made and learned how to fill in the map with objects/meshes. I've learned how to create my own assets within UE4 and Blender. Currently I'm working on making my own animations and I will eventually create my own skeleton and rig.

I must say UE4 is super intuitive once you get the hang of it and the tutorials only leave you wanting to do more with the knowledge to do it.

  7. No plan, no communication and not much encouragement from a big part of the community. -Bad time for a benchmark with another mod.

Btw why would you call your mod Epoch if you don't want people to expect the same like in arma 2 ? Using the famous Arma 2 DayZ Epoch status for this project was a bad idea.

I'm not totally sure you know what the definition of Epoch is.

  8. Check out the winners here! Looks like it was a close race for quite a few entries.

Now with that out of the way we at the Epoch house would like to thank everyone for the support you provide. In the end it's our main driving force. Although it would have been nice to win :P It's not what was driving us to do what we do. So you guys know we were working on A3 Epoch before the contest was even known about and we will continue to be here well after the fact. So "Stay Tuned" because we have some awesome stuff planned and we would love to share it with everyone!
