  1. You all should be happy to know that a system I've been putting together for a couple months should address this issue....to an extent.

    If all goes as planned, it should accomplish 3 things.
    -Add another layer of strategy to all player encounters.
    -Provide lone wolves with enough advantage(if prepared) to level the playing field.
    -most importantly, will NOT make veteran hostile players feel dragged into care-bear land.

     

    I'm not going into it in this thread.

    ...but I've been considering every angle into and around this system....and feel we may actually solve the shoot-on-sight dilemma; without stripping players of choice.

  2. You have had the freedom to play on a number of servers since the public alpha release. 

    We're busy developing new features and gameplay mechanics, identifying and squashing bugs...

    I'm not sure how your feelings have been hurt, we're trying hard as possible to allow the community to help test without compromising security.

    If you haven't been asleep the last 3 weeks, this should make perfect sense.

  3. Is there really tanks in epoch mod? I found a guy driving one and I actually sniped him from 300m with a rollins 1 shot headshot and now I am in possession of the tank and I think it might have been hacked in so plz help anyone so I don't get in trouble

    LOL, Glad you got some gunplay with the rollins...it does a lot more damage than people think.  Nice shot!

  4. All these fictional creatures should be optional imo. I was really hoping the loss of zombies would mean more realistic lifeforms like predatory animals. And/Or more elemental / natural threats, not magic spewing sorcerers and rock creatures :(

    Still love the Epoch building and gameplay, I just hope the creatures can be removed on some servers sometime down the road.

    This is always a matter of balance and taste, so allow me to take this opportunity to ask all of you 2 questions.

    Those of you who out the gate think it's too OP:

     

    1: If it were in the game, under what stipulations would you even remotely accept it as a factor in Epoch?
    (example: Consumes an entire energy pack within 10 seconds, maxes out player's fatigue; exhausting the player entirely after a short use of cloak; extremely rare, etc)

    2:  Why do you think, no matter what cost or rarity...that it should never ever make it's way into a competitive server?

  6. Vilayer has been removed as well, do you not think there is a bigger picture going on?

     

    We have done our best with the Epoch team but one member has let the side down and i do not dispute that this will be a great mod but we have to look at our company interests.

    I'm not sure what your motivation is, or what happened to upset you specifically; but you pulled your sponsorship without notifying us or the playerbase.

    Vilayer server went down while I was playing on it nearly 2 weeks ago and another server wasn't provided.

    No servers = not sponsoring = no longer advertised.

    I suggest you leave gracefully, our community is too positive and overly supportive to be lied to.

    This post will likely be deleted; However, it bears being said.  The Epoch Developers have decided to take OCNetworks off the supporters list, so it regrets us to inform you that OCNetworks will no longer be supporting the development of the Epoch Mod for ArmaIII
     
    We have no ill feelings towards the developers of the project, however we simply cannot and will not continue to support development on a project without the recognition we deserve.

    You pulled the servers offline with zero notice and left several players looking at a bare server list.

     

  8. SS = Stream sniping. CL = Combat Logging.
    Neither are tolerated.  And as far as I'm concerned, every case in this thread was proven to my knowledge.

    Also, our community is far from stupid; so don't even bother trying to pull one over on them.  

    Play the game with honor and you will never have an issue.

  9. Phoenix pretty much hit the nail on the head.  He's absolutely right particularly in terms of pace and acquisition of the items necessary to facilitate accuracy. 
    Most firefights and encounters happen so quickly that the inaccuracy of your shots would feel like SA's...essentially making the player feel cheated.  I like imperfections of a weapons firing, as long as they're consistent...I also like an environment affecting the bullets trajectory, as long as it's gauged, visible and makes sense.  Which the latter would clutter up the screen: one of the things we're really trying to free up.
