  1. I imagine this was on a map other that Altis or Stratis.

    The trout is defacto payout for unknown animals.

     

     

    One of my guys one upped me last night. I'm disappointed. He killed a rabbit and got a Tuna (which was bigger than he was). This is all on Bornholm.

    Fish* are the defacto payout for unknown animals.

    I figured it was on Bornholm.  Those animals are spawned with the map, multi-map support hasn't been completed by us yet.

    The "owner" streaming didn't even know what weapons were from Epoch or whatever Add-on they're launching with it. 

    Oh and their desync on a 50 player server was laughable. Get rekt.

    I suggest not supporting anything to do with it or that community, unless you want to see a3 Epoch turn into the Pay2Win shit show that Dayz Epoch became.

    I foresee a day when there won't be any quality servers available to play Epoch on; suffering the incomprehensible damage of shit like this..  If this day comes, I will have no choice but to take my ball and go play elsewhere.

    with the new m16 and m4a3 weapons you can load them with the 5.56 20 round dual purpose mags meant for the SDAR rifle, but they do not shoot bullets when you dont have a scope.

    i just tried it again and with a MRCO scope and the gun will work fine, but when i take the scope off it goes back to shooting blanks

     

    Yes, good report. I wasn't entirely sure about including this magazine for those rifles because it was kind of wonky.

    for instance, I also made the 20rnd dual purpose compatible with the Saw, and it simply didn't shoot bullets zeroed below 200m.  Every other bullet acted strangely no matter what the case.  I think theyre really just intended to be shot underwater, hence the silly ballistics.

    You guys just went apeshit before anyone had a chance to get their footing in all this. If you guys weren't in the wrong, i promise you that this many people wouldn't be so mad right now.

    Maybe you should direct some of your anger towards the developer you hired to protect your server....Inshltar.  Did he include his blacklisting of all Epoch Devs(and Dwarden as an extra bonus?) in the changelogs?

    I highly doubt it.  He essentially used YOUR servers as a vehicle for his own vendetta. /shrug.

    We're talking about a deeply rooted engine thing with Arma 3 in general.  No matter what the configurating of ammo(what really drives a weapons ballistics), they will all refer to the core math of ballistics in the game.

    I'm sure there are issues open about this on the tracker, perhaps it's something they've slated for the Marksman DLC (bipods etc). 

    You can always try the ballstics mission to really test some of this stuff for now though.  There's a really neat tracer drawn along the round's trajectory, color coded to reflect the speed/power of the round, even after penetration.

  6. I know where you're coming from Ryan. By the time I finished playing Arma2 I could hit targets that were at odd distances, like 847m for example, but in A3 I will move forward or back to have a nice 800 or 900 shot. This would/should mean I don't need to compensate with hold-under or hold-over....it should result in what you aim at, you hit. 

     

    By the way, my latest display of shit sniping was with a M107, is there anything skewiff about those guns?

    I've noticed there's something particularly strange with changes in elevation and bullet drop(or overall accuracy).  For instance, try ranging something at relatively the same elevation as you, the metering is generally spot on.

    However, try ranging something considerably downhill from you and the actual hits can be entirely off for nearly 2 mildots in either direction.

    As far as the 107, it's temporarily inheriting statistics from the lynx in terms of ballistics due to it's use of the 12.7 rounds.  This was temporary until ammo unification features are implemented.  The 107 will eventually have it's own magazine.

    So overall, still some silly things going on with all ballistics. Far ranges and changes in elevation seem to really make it stand out to a noticable degree.

  7. And I will be voting... Just not yet I want to see what else they bring. Yes Its a fantastic mod agreed but I just don't feel ready to vote for something that's been out for like a week... My choice... I will not be forced into voting if I don't feel its the right time.

     

    I get people knocking at my door trying to get me to vote for politics they get told to fuck off.. I'm not normally a voting type.. This will get my vote when I feel good and ready.

    I can understand your reasoning. Just out of curiosity if you were to vote for an entry, what would it be?

    Yes, you need more exposure to get those player numbers up.

    Can I suggest you run a video competition with different categories to get you some free, quality promotional videos?

    Their community produced some near professional productions for their annual video competitions.

    A Frankie or Lewis video wouldn't go amiss either. In fact I'm bewildered why they haven't already started a series on it.

    It's hard to get good footage when 90% of the people on a server are highly skilled.  I've noticed most of our players are pretty hardcore, these guys and gals really don't mess around lol.

  9. Instead of starting a new thread I'll hijack this one with my question. It is related.

    I'm lead to believe that if you drive to an area with accessible buildings, the loot won't spawn immediately. But what about the trash piles? Trash piles are either fresh or already searched. So I ask, do the trash piles house loot regardless if a player is close or not? So if you drive to them and squash them, could you be missing out on loot that would've spawned if you'd have run to them from a few hundred metres away?

    Trash piles run the chance to spawn loot as they're squashed by the player.

    You could drive into a town at full speed, spend a couple moments checking trash or investigating buildings and should be able to find furniture and lootable items very quickly.

  10. Is it possible to turn off or reduce fatigue settings?

    Although it may seem a bit rough starting out as a new character, it serves it's purpose.

     

    A player alive for more than an hour will rarely if ever have a problem with stamina and fatigue from normal travels.
