    Personally I like it the way it is.  If you want more loot, run with a group of players, since the greater number of people in close proximity means a higher loot output.  If anything I think the building materials spawning needs to be increased somewhat.

    Poke the admins, they might have something misconfigured.. I know those blue screens come from server side errors.

    it's a milsim. I mean, every server is PvP unless it states otherwise. I play now on PVE servers as I get the most enjoyment from them. Fighting AI, building base, etc is much more interesting to me than quickly finding gun and then going to rampage like in DayZ SA which I was an avid fan for a year.

    It is like with torrenting, Piratebay did not have illegal movies or music, they just made it possible for users WHO have them to connect to each other through sharing a torrent file.

    The server you are playing on probably has dynamic and random AI enabled. I've set mine up so that the AI are only in the towns, disabled the random and dynamic AI, and I've set the chance for antagonists to spawn while looting to 0%. For the patrols, I have two ground patrols in unarmed vehicles and one heli patrol, also unarmed, which will paradrop bandits on you if they spot you. Less hectic and still PVE. It's all in how the server is configured.

    It's annoying as hell and my main complaint on Arma 3.  At first I thought it had to do with view / object distance settings, but with offline play I could not reproduce it.
     
    The annoying part is that you can still see the player if they are laying on the other side of that hill with the top cut off, this is bad for both players as the one on the hill thinks his concealed but isn't and for the other if he takes what he thinks is a clean shot, actually hits the invisible ground.  Another issue is players sinking into the ground when on hills...also hard to hit a player when he is underground
     
    So it seems to be an ARMA 3 server thing, but what setting to change to fix it server or client side ...no idea.     I would think that world objects would purely be drawn on the client side but who knows

    Have you played Breaking Point?  I have, and will never play it again.  Reason: I ran around for hours looking for loot and every freakin suitcase I came across had the same boring loot.  Brick, matches, tennis ball and .223 rifle or shotgun.  It wasn't like Christmas when you opened packages.  Most everyone sporting the same weapons.  With Epoch we have many options.
     
    Here, you have no clue what's gonna be in that gun case, sofa or cabinet...could suck, could be just what you are looking for.   I'm in it for the combat and tactics and laughing my ass off when a truck doing 70kmh hits my SLAM mine and becomes a ball of fire.   Or sniping the pilot out of a little bird at 1.2km with a Lynx or 320   
     
    I like the survival aspect, but only if it doesn't become searching for hours on end to find something I need.
     
    This mod allows me and others to play the way we like, and that's why I stay and consider this the best mod out there even in alpha state.
     
    If I wanted to go pure survivalist, I could.  Build a shack up in the hills and only use my two feet as transportation and kill only animals for food.  Nothing is stopping anyone from playing like they want and I'm betting the choices will increase as the mod is developed.

    OK, I'll concede that point. However, until the anti-hacks are at such a stage where they actually block current hacks, is it not preferable to share information on potential problem players? I mean, you can take the advice, or leave it, but you shouldn;t try to dissuade others from adding the people to their own ban lists. It should be up to the server owner, and server owners alike should be sharing this information.
     
    As an example, in A2 there's been a hack around for months where everyone gets teleported and killed, and entire bases can be deleted at will. This 'hole' still hasn`t been plugged.
     
    Now in A3, we're already seeing people reporting the same hacks....should we wait patiently for BE to recognise the problem?

    It is one of the reason I hate the stupidity of some Epoch admins. Why god why you not share your damn ban list? Oh, someone can be banned falsely or just give you people who did something wrong to those admins (killed them in game etc) so it is not safe? WHAAAAT? This is not how reality works. You have to share info, no matter it is reliable or not. The future will tell. You do not have to USE those guids, but simple fact of sharing it publicly (or even privately) is what all the gaming and all internet reputation thing is about. Imagine if Amazon didn't accept records of crimincal that Ebay sent them because "hur dur they can be normal people who did no crime". It is damn stupid and it makes me furious that such stupid people exist on the internet who do not understand the simple fact of business.
     
    In the long run, admins who do not share are worse of. That's game theory 101 to you.
     
    Yeah I am preaching to the choir, but I naively still believe that there are still smart Epoch admins who will gladly look into it and maybe ban those people in their servers too.
     
    This is how free market business works. You share info about criminals. If there are admins who falsely ban people and share their guids, then they WILL be exposed eventually and they themselves will be banned from every other server. So it is in the best interest of all admins to be honest. This is not some corrupt government where bribary and lobying is everything. This is a damn internet, the total free market.

    it is naive and absurd thinking. How do you think business all around the world works? Are you 12? Do you even economics? it is in the best interest of admins of various servers to NOT lie about hackers if they do not want hackers in their own servers. Same as in a real world. Imagine you are coffe shop owner, some client goes to your shop, and leaves without paying. you then submit to other coffee shops (your competitors) that this man is a criminal because he didn't pay for the service and it is in all your best interest to ban him from entering yoru shop otherwise, you won't get information about other criminals who didn't pay for other shop owners and then stumbled upon your own shop and left without paying. You will LOSE money in this way. That's reality. And everybody does it. I suggest your to reconsider, you want fair players or anyone, even hackers in your servers because "muh server population".

    well, the most amazing antagonist in my opinion is Cultist. Once it grabs you you can waste whole clip trying to kill it, and it reduces your stamina instantly, I love it. More antagonists should appear during the night time and leave day time only to AI patrols, like drones etc. Of course I'm just brainstorming ideas, maybe other people have different view of what Epoch should look like. But night should be reserved to certain type of antagonists which appear only during the night, in my opinion.

    All these quiet and empty servers, I wish a few would recognise it's a low pop mod, and maybe allow their server for practice in anticipation of the next update and wipe.

    Empty server owner, give me unlimited building supplies, along with others wanting to practice building. You'd have a population, albeit with the understanding the server gets wiped in a week or two upon the next patch.

    You've fuck all to lose.

    Make sure you setup a website like enjin if you aint already, players like to keep up to date with server changes and plans.

    Most traditional ways of base glitching seems to be fixed in the 0.3 version. Base glitching however will always be a challenge, just keep reporting exploits in the exploit section of the forum and they will be hopefully rectified.

    This is an excellent idea. I'd also like to see the amount needed before hand. It could simply take the date/time from the oldest object entry from the last payment date/time to determine when the next payment would be due.
     
    If it was an option like scroll wheel & get other options from Maintain:
    - Due Date
    - Cost
    - Last Payment Amount (see what your delta is from last payment)
    - etc, anything else that might be pertinent about bases that people would want to know

    So the assumption here is that items will be deleted from traders after a certain period of time with the new version? Will it be configurable?
     
     
    I read that the traders will have categories with the new version.

    Yeah that's a good point.  If a player has multiple jammers around their base and they do a "maintain" at one jammer, does that propagate to all base items?  Or just items that were built immediately prior to that jammer being installed?  Or does it even matter?
