Random Crashes

Question

UPDATE: I got it working on my other computer, so it was probably a problem with my main desktop pc.

Hey,

I was trying to set up my server; everything works great, but now I got this problem.

The server randomly stops working. This is what the rpt log file is giving me:

If anyone knows the problem, please tell me.

This is the "Minidump" file that has been generated opened with Visual Studio:

Hmm, have you unblocked files? right click them->properties, if you see and unblock button make sure they are unblocked.

Also make sure you have the latest DirectX redist.

Also check to see if DEP is active and activate it.

Then do windows updates and sfc /scannow.

Usually ntdll faults are a system configuration issue but other things that windows doesnt know how to deal with can cause it too (bad code/locked system files/modules).

Is this on your own computer?

Which files do I need to unblock?

How do I activate DEP

This is my own computer for testing yeah.

Is Redis running ? and is the password the same in both your redis.conf and EpochServer.ini ?

Usually that's the cause, good luck :)

Redis is running, thank you for the answer.

Are you starting the server with "-malloc=system"  ?

Is your pagefile big enough (1-1.5 times mem)

Do you have enough drive space?

Are you able to check for pagefaults and see if they're over normal ?

I'll try starting it with -malloc

How do I edit my 'pagefile'?

And how do I check for pagefaults?

It says it created a mini dump file or something. I opened it with visual studio and it was saying something like:

its trying to access a file but it does not have the permission or rights to open it.

I then tried running the server with administrator rights, it took a little bit longer before it crashed.

Kind Regards,

Matijs

Looks like a permission error, are you running it as administrator ?

Yes, i'm running as an administrator, I have no idea what i'm doing wrong, I googled the problem and saw on the arma 3 feedback tracker thingy people with the same problem yesterday. I'm gonna try run the server on my other computer now, see what that gives me.

You set your pagefile by going to computer properties, advanced, Performance settings, and edit.

Pagefaults you do with the system monitor if you manage your PC. But tbh, if you don't know hosting basics about computers, how on Earth do you think you can troubleshoot server issues? Hosting stuff is never "click and run", you do need basic understanding of the mechanics to be able to troubleshoot things. You need to know how to google problems, and actually understand what the results give you.

You're better off renting a server , by hosting companies who know what they're doing. THAT actually is (in most cases) click and run.
