    So I have a few questions about this new post

     
    Every type of game does this type of donation.
    Alot of players wont donate unless they receive items.
    This has been going on in DayZ since the start of private HIVES and now its being frowned upon? 
     
    The user/client/player choses to donate for said items.
    This helps the server with running cost and also helps said players out. 
    What is the difference for giving a player a full custom loadout everytime he/she spawns or giving them a combo lock? lol
     
    Lets take a look at one of the main Official servers. 
    Its alright for them to make over $400 in donations for Loadouts and Humanity but another server is frowned upon for making $3 for a set of combo locks?
     
    If its a player choice why is it frowned upon?
    So any game that does Micro-Transactions should be a no no and people shouldn't buy said items?
     
    Business do this. If you donate you will get some type of return from it and its still classed as a donation.
    In my state. DONATING blood/plasma will get you $300 but its still a donation.
     
    This is just my two sense and I understand if this post gets deleted. Im just a little curious on the reasons behind this thats all.
    I do donations and I will look at removing them.

    I have never been a fan of bars, not because i dont like the idea.
     
    Its the implementation, the user interaction is far to clunky, the inventory management is crap and i honestly dont think it works as well as it should within the confines of ARMA 2.
     
    Smelting/selling gold bars to buy a Pepsi doesnt seem logical?
     
    I understand that "Money Management" is an important factor in Epoch but sacrificing play-ability for it doesn't seems like a way forward.
     
    And I still maintain that a single currency still contains "Money Management", it just takes some of the messing around away from traders.
     
    My system is as follows:
    Gold coins as currency Trader buy/sell in coins 900 coins can be smelted into a gold bars and placed into a safe. A limited amount can be stored @ banker in traders. If you die with coins, other players can take them as they would with bars. There isn't really much difference between my system and vanilla Epoch.
     
    I am looking at this from a Play-ability POV, i think the current currency system is far too clunky to ARMA...

    Hey Cryten, kudos on the launcher!
     
    I wrote a launcher for our community, that downloads the mods required for servers.
    Its based on an online json file that our servers get added to with a list of mods download locations.
     
    Its pretty cool as we can update say epoch on some servers and the launcher will still allow players to play on any server. Basically each version of a mod, we zip it up in its own unique folder. Not the most efficient way but its the simplest.
     
    If you want a hand implementing something like this, im more than happy to help out.
     
    Launching epoch with the many maps available is a nightmare and its nice to someone trying to fix the problem!

    It seems they have released a version of BE with filters hard coded. A few other admins tried to remove all filters and logs were still outputted.
     
    Spoken to the guys @ Vilayer and they have forwarded on information to the BI guys.

    This Mod adds a "Toggle Snapping" function to these Epoch Buildable objects:

    When you start building a new object you will get a "Toggle Snapping" option if the object is supported.
    Hit it to activate the snapping.
     
    Distance between the two objects has to be lower then 1.5m.
    So move your object to almost same height and next to one side, near the top or near the bottom of the object you want to snap it to.
    SNAP!
    This allows you to build a Floor or a Wall on the same height in a perfect line.
     
    It is also possible to make perfect 90° angles with it, for this you also have to bring the object almost in the desired angle to the other object and it will snap to it.
     
    So What makes this version "Extended"?
     
    Well...
    Snapping will work on more then one  Floor Snapping will work while building over Water Snapping a object on Top/Bottom of eachother Snapping with set rotation (for set Door open directions) More objects supported Code for finding snap points redone Demo Video:

    Hey im not trying to steal thunder but a better way to go would be to catch it when vehicles spawn in on server start like this in the server_monitor.sqf ~ line 99
    {     if ((_pos distance _x) < 75) then {         if (_damage > 0.1) then {             _damage = 1;             [_idKey,false,"SERVER"] call server_deleteObj;             diag_log format["DELETING SAFEZONE VEHICLE: %1", [_idKey, _type]];         };         _ownerID = "0";     }; } forEach [zonestary, zonebash, zoneklen];
     
    It will unlock vehicles that have no damage and delete anything with 0.1 or more damage. Its abit nicer if someone buys a vehicle just before a restart.
     
    Once the vehicle is out of the safezone and the server restarts, it will be lockable again.
     
    Technically it removes/unlocks ALL object but you cant build in trader cities so...

    Have you ever donated to the epoch cause? Is it fair for everyone in the DayZ ecosystem to make a couple of quid except the mod creators?
     
    I know your making money Dave... I know Vilayer/Vert hosting are making money, server admins can easily make money and im pretty sure Epoch is costing AWOL money...
     
    See what im getting at... Not really fair is it, creating code for DayZ is a long process and ALOT of man hours go into development.

    The reason its a WIP:
     
    I want it to snap different objects together. Eg. Wall -> Floor I want to add the ability to adjust the Z height when the object is in its snapped position. Its still buggy, it leaves red balls around after building. Stealing code is not cool. Hacking is not cool.
