So, long story short, I used to play OG Arma 2 DayZ Epoch more than 5 years ago. Playing the Epoch mod on Arma 2 was absolutely one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had and I miss it every day. I miss the trading, base building, and awesome PvP tension when I was scavenging for supplies. I would love to get back into Epoch.
However, I’m really confused about how I would go about getting back into playing Epoch. I haven’t played for years and I’ve been reading about the mod in 2019.
Apparently, there’s Arma 2 Epoch, Arma 3 Epoch, and there’s supposedly an Epoch mod coming for DayZ SA? Could anyone tell me the differences between all these version of Epoch – if there even is one? Which one of these is the “best” place to play the Epoch mod and why is it the best?
I own both Arma 2 and Arma 3. If the standalone is really the best place to play Epoch, then I have no issue purchasing the game. I’m just really confused as to where I should be looking to get back into Epoch. Especially since I always figured Arma 2 would be “dead” after so long.

Please stop making this mod so militarized. I fell in love with vanilla Epoch, when it was just a bunch of players on Chernarus using CZs and M4s to hunt each other, and retreating back to their wooden shacks... How times have changed... People flying helicopters around cities, shooting people with 50 cal machine guns all while dodging rocket launchers. Please go back to your survival roots. This mod is going to be DOA if you don't fix it. You obviously care about this mod and put your best efforts into it, so please don't just allow this to be wasteland part 2 with random monsters walking around. Epoch is the only mod in which you can build bases and I'd hate to see it fall into obscurity.

What is it?
This script replaces gold,silver,tin,copper,briefcases by 1 virtual currency with a configurable name. You can buy,sell, give, receive, take (from dead bodies) and STORE this money like it was a normal inventory item. ( It will work with a different dialog then your gear dialog.)
No more smelting gold into silver or anything related to that. Everything is in one currency ( For example "ZupasticiumCoins").
Features.
Store Money in storage objects and vehicles ( max money in 1 storage depends on the size).
No global access to your money.
Anyone can take the money out ( for vault/lockbox it must be open of course).
Trade with this currency for cars/items.
Give money to other players.
NO inventory issues with gold!

No global bank! Back to normal epoch danger to lose cash!

Storage money is saved in the gear section of the object in the Database

This build will have all of the fixes on errors out there ( Build on peterbeers all in on packages with the bugfixes).

FAQ!
I use a different instance/map to play one! What do i do?
The only things that difference between maps where u need to worrie about is the server_traders.sqf. I included them for 4 maps, if your map is NOT in there u will have to change your original one.
FAIR SIMPLE:
1) Take your original server_traders
2) Open one of mine
3) Copy my categories with the correct numbes to your traders. You can choose also which traders sells what then ^^.
4) Share your file to me so i can put it in the list
Does it work with Overpoch(ins).
Simple: Yes, Everything with epoch as base.
Overwatch items or included in traders, remove the categories if you do not use them.
Can i convert from the older system?
You will have to revert your database to the default structure and maybe transfer money. Banks added to the players cash is the best solution.
How do i see my money and bank?
1 - Bank will not be visible cus their is none. You store money in storages like other items ( but in a different dialog). So the money can be accessed by anyone that has access to that storage.
2- Money is visisble with a money icon on the right side of the screen. Feel free to add it to other places aswell.

Ok i just tried this and you can only make one type of radio; a Garnet one.. just have your radio in your bag then double click on it.. I had also Citrine and Sapphire in my bag so was unable to actually craft anything, but the ingredient required were 1 Garnet and 1 Radio.
So, in game there are mostly quartz radios and several different gems. In the VR arsenal, there are radios for every gem type. I imagine that each radio type is its own frequency, but is there a way to change the crystals in game? Did a forum search for "radio" and didn't come up with anything.
Low rez graphics? The hell are you talking about, son...
They can easily double the cell amount per pixel on heightmap as well as include normal maps while porting over from Visitor to TB by just simply adjusting few sliders (incl 3rd party tools), but there's absolutely no need for that, as it is more for e-penis than actual visual gain.
If you meant vegetation, it won't get better than it is atm, there's literary no reason to force more polies or higher texture resolution on these guys.
I personally think it would be great idea to be able to cary loot crates out of the water its hard to loot under water loot as it is now. What do you all think?
Saranhi is also in developement although its kinda stalled at the minute, there's also a lovely looking Ukraine map being made but Nova Zona is the one that gets me excited, it's stunning.
Guys, You fail to realise what the Epoch devs have done towards keeping and storing krypto. As in Arma 2: Epoch, Gold and other precious metals exists which are worth quite a lot (such as 10oz Gold). The point of this is so you can trade your krypto for metals and gems so you may then store them in a lockbox/safe. This enables you to store krypto efficiently as well as keeping the risk of doing so which you would loose if there were a different banking system.

im currently playing as a female character on an official server but find it really difficult to find female clothing. I think in the time of playing epoch ive only found wet suite (female) both white and black (although the last time i found the wetsuit on 0.2 update it had no storage???)
I have found a female military clothing once - is anyone else having this problem?
Question is does anyone think the drop rate of female clothing (especially military) be increased on the official servers?
The gamma thing is an issue shared by many other games as well, don't think I've seen any solution that addresses it. Not sure there's a comprehensive solution, since folks can simply adjust settings on their card directly using 3rd party software. Maybe give folks a reason to equip them? e.g. you can only see [some AI type] when NVG's are equipped and powered on.
Exactly. Here's what I've found them doing on another server: the cloaks slow you down so the sappers can get you.
If you turn and look at them and move backwards eventually you'll be out of range of their attack and can then turn and run.
They'll follow you for quite a ways but eventually they'll despawn or stop.
I had 2 cloaks and 2 sappers on my tail and all I had was my BVDs and a fanny pack.
Then a UAV spawned in and I ran right under it hoping to trigger it so the AI would all attack each other but it never triggered so I one-shotted it with a .45 pistol.
Yeah, I have been chased by them for some time. If you keep on the move and duck through buildings and stuff they will loose you and you can get away. Personally I love the challenge.
