Will there be Taviana Map for Epoch A3?

nice work but some kind of dangerous to resign others work. 

 

True, but the Epoch community wants to carry on, and have some "common base" so this project is something to applaud.

 

Remember, it's only A3 bugfixes on an existing map, where tons of admins struggle; Santa does not claim the map to be his, he only provided a common key so the Epoch community can get on par .

Allright,

 

It took a while longer because there were some issues etc, but it's here.

 

Over the past weeks I managed to get rid of loads of texture errors, config.bin errors and RPT spam from the @Taviana map.

 

After some testing it's ready for a first release now.

 

 

The purpose of this remake is to provide a single set of client files which all server hosts can use.

This way all people who want to play Taviana will only have to download one set of files, which prevents confusion and problems.

 

To do this, there is a couple of things that I'd like you all to consider.

 

  • This is NOT finished. There might still be missing textures etc. (Haven't had one in 10 hours)
  • Do NOT change stuff yourself in the client files. It would destroy the entire purpose of having one set of files.
  • If you find any bugs/errors, feel free to contact me and maybe I can fix them in a next update.

 

Before anyone flaming that I post a link to my own forums for the download

Because of the fact that the Taviana author does NOT allow Epochmod to talk/post/.. his work, I CANNOT post a direct download link here.

I however can guide u to the topic that has it ;)

I fixed the bridge :D  I will send the fixed file to Santa so he can update the taviana pack.

 

Hey Santa, did you add the bridge fix?

 

I think also it would be very helpful to have a changelog so when know when there is an update we need to download .

 

GZA, can you PM if you have the bridge fix, I wanna upload the file to GitHub with change log..

I agree, but then they are not forced to download it, they can choose to or not, with the changelog they can decide if its a bix fix or small.

 

a fix for 1 of 2 bridges that connect two main islands probably justifies itself and worth the download in my opinion it's a big fix

 

PS: the feedback i got is that no one is downloading it for their server yet, i have but i cant join anyone! they are all waiting for GZA bridge fix

Played a good few hours last night with a few friends and I gotta say I'm impressed! Great work guys  :D Just wondering though; Do you plan to get in more windmills and get them working?

no, all that stuff will be server specific, the plan is to create one file that all server owners/players use. server add ons/trader cities are not hard to make, and they are done server side.

Just a short information. We will release an updated taviana pack soon.

 

Changelog so far:
V0.2
- fixed bridges
- fixed barriers 
- map cleanup (removed many wrecks, trash and plants) 
- added new enterable and updated buildings http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=26806
- added loadingscreen and author 
- removed some unused textures/objects to lower pack size
