@ Scrote, in your config.cfg you want the following added or set to 1, this will mean the mission still runs even when the last player disconnects.
persistent = 1;
Also in your launch parameters add
-autoInit This will start the mission without anyone needing to join.

Nic reacted to Rob2 in Gaps between base parts after server restart
Hello,
Epoch 3 has still the same issue like Epoch 2, that the building parts snap to a 10cm grid at server restart, when building at areas that are more than 10000m away from map center. (Note: Y-database-coordinate does not matche the ingame map).
The cause is, that in the database the coordinates are stored with 6 digits. For example 9424.68/2156.76 (m). Or another example 1243.57/536.567.
The problem is, when you build more than 10km away from the database coordinate center, it only save 15365.2/21564.5 (m). With that alle objects snap to a 10cm grid on the next restart of the server.
Is there a good cause that the system is not using at least 7 digits?
In Epoch2 there was a server side script, that fixed the issue, by converting the coordinates to a string before putting them into the database:
Maybe that format would be an option, if there is a hardcoded limit to 6 digits. However, I dont know how big the performance impact is.
But it would be nice to finally eleminate the "Snap to 10cm" problem.

All I can say is I hope they tie in shelves/tipi's/lockboxes to the Jammer maintenance and do it somewhat quick.

Nic reacted to kresdja in ArmAGeddon on Epoch
And where did you find this information? My googlefu doesn't seem to be finding anything about these 2 mods being combined anywhere.
@xbelanch - Sorry, but Epoch is about surviving after an armageddon. It's a long term thing. Having the whole map sink would/should mean all bases would be destroyed. While it might be fun to some, I'd guess the majority of Epoch players wouldn't like losing their base, if they managed to build one before the island sank, every restart. Considering how often Epoch servers are restarted, every 3-4 hours seems to be the norm, I don't see how it would be fun. That's just my $.02 though.

Nic reacted to Oddy-B in Deep concern for my goats, chickens and rabbits
By the gods of Epoch, I await the final consultation with The Cultists, and behold their lack of appearance showeth that they are but cowards. They quivver with the thought of yet been defeated by the might of the Clones.
And yet Buggsy is wise, he sits there and taunts us. then he teleports into his deep, deep borrow and prepares his mines and satchel charges for freshly spawned helicopters :D

Nic reacted to Oddy-B in Deep concern for my goats, chickens and rabbits
Alas, with the Cultist becomming afraid of the clones, they have cursed this blessed land. the rabbits have burrowd deep, the goats and sheep have migrated to Arma2 and the soil has become tainted with TnT parcticales that blow up helicopters, We must act on this evil doing. We must seek the wisdom of the Monks of Developia, who will place their alchemy to work of said afflictions.

Nic reacted to Glenn in Battleeye activation on every Arma3 restart
If you dont like the Launcher, you can always do this:
Go to your Arma 3 installation folder: D:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\ Drag and make a shortcut to your desktop of the following file: arma3battleye.exe On your desktop, rightclick the new shortcut and select Properties In the "Target" section, make it look like this: "D:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\arma3battleye.exe" 0 1 Press Apply and you are done. Note that the Target field does support additional parameters.... So if you dont want a splash window, or Logos and mods activated, put this in:
"D:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\arma3battleye.exe" 0 1 -noSplash -skipIntro -mod=@Epoch;@allinarmaterrainpack;@Taviana;@RHSAFRF;@RHSUSAF
Now, the only annoying thing so far, is that with this method, I don't get the Epoch "Look" when Arma starts up - but it will still allow me to join servers (that has the mod requirements).
Using the default Arma 3 Launcher with the properly set up Mods active and the proper parameter call in the execute command part is probably better - but its all up to each person to choose their flavor I guess. :)

And if you want to use .paa files, you are going to want TexView 2 (found at http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=14435) to convert other images types (like .png, .gif, etc.) to .paa.

Probably want to start vanilla and add each script one at a time until you figure out which one breaks the server.

Nic reacted to Dwarfer in [Suggestion] Detach BattlEye Filters from the main package
Hi Guys,
I have been wondering for awhile now if it would be better to detach the BattlEye Filters from the main epochserver package for the following reasons.
1) Every time 1 line needs changing we have a new epochserver package to download and install, I know that generally you just need to copy the one file from the package and update just that file however the majority of the community think they have to re apply the whole server update again and this is causing confusion. I for one have been asked online and offline about 10 times in the last 3-4 days about what needs to be done to update.
2) Server owners to save themselves some hassle pick though the BE filters to find out what has changed, Yes we can use the varius diff but would it not be nice just to be able to see the diff's in one place ? I for one would vote for this
3) Quicker reactions to problems/bugs or hacks. Without having to compile X or Y.
4) Automation. I for one could easily see a way to automate BE filter updates directly from the DEV's and apply my own additions automatically every restart thus moving hassle away from Admins and also giving the players a better experience.
I am sure there are more but these were some of my top list.
Q. How could this be done
A. Easily. Version Control AKA GITHUB
To show what I mean I have setup the following on github as I believe example are always better :-)
https://github.com/Dwarfer/a3epochbattleye
If you look at the following page you can start to see how this would work (click on one of the codes like fc16bb9 and 64dc4da)
https://github.com/Dwarfer/a3epochbattleye/commits/master/battleye
example
https://github.com/Dwarfer/a3epochbattleye/commit/64dc4da2c6e42ad9d60e8f83099e1a2adf137ac0#diff-eebd98b941739af49105df774982d418
This also shows A nice easy place to see changes
https://github.com/Dwarfer/a3epochbattleye/tree/master/battleye
Nice Release View and easy to download most up to date (easy scripting place)
https://github.com/Dwarfer/a3epochbattleye/releases
This shows you what the differences are between the release thus making it easier to apply the updates.
For those who are wondering how you would use this as a base to mod your own lines in. Well you can use various tools to append, find, replace and change any number of lines or even a simple merge.
I personally am happy to keep this up to date as best I can if people think it would help but ideally it would be great for the DEV's to run as I think it will be more helpful for everyone.
I would be happy to write some documents and howto's and even videos on how server admins would/could use this.
** I should say that the DEV's will already be doing this anyway within the private github however what would be the harm of just making the BE filters public ?
As I side note I also think GSP's would find this very useful for keeping there servers up to date.
What do people think ? Does this sound like something that would help the community and or DEV's ? or is this just the ramblings of a Humble Dwarf who has been trying to help other server admins out
Dwarfer
P.s.
If the dev's want to to take do the Hub let me know.
