The dots on the map (Chernarus AIA)

I know what some of the dots in the map mean. There are the brown, green, red, and the black dots. I know the brown dots mean the shop and the green seem to be the same thing which is kinda confusing to me but whatever. Black dots, I heard, are shops as well with safe zones just safe zones... I haven't gone to a black dot yet.

 

About the brown dots, they show up in some towns but when I go to them, there isn't anyone there or its just a random brown dot on a random house. I would look around the house to see if it actually means something but eh.

 

The red dots are almost the same, there are some with names on them like: ferris, mineral and blah. Some red dots don't even have names on them and some of them i go dont even so anything special. And I have never gone to a black dot yet..

 

But the point is, I need someone to clear things up for me with the dots. I would check everywhere in the forums but I'm actually playing right now and trying to learn as I go. 

 

So are some of the dots misleading/bugged or what? What do the red dots really mean?

Brown dots = Traders, no safe zone They are there

Red Dots (with no text) = Dead Traders

Green Dots = Traders moving to location ( you can actually watch them move to their trader posts)

Red Dots (with text like ferris, Container) = Loot events that spawn randomly

You can bank it at an ATM or phone booth. Hit Ctrl and your inventory key when looking at one of those.

I am having an issue on Chernarus (on the Mell's House server) where I went to several brown dots all along the map and there were no traders. Some were houses that were not enter able and others were just empty rooms. Is the map bugged and spawning traders in the walls or am I missing something?

There is a bug where traders can spawn inside houses that you cant enter.

Ah thank you for the info. I looked through the feedback tracker and didn't see an issue on it so I wasn't sure. I'll probably wait till that one is fixed before I play again. I spent most of the night running uselessly across the map to use a trader that wasn't there.

. If you run across the map to a trader that isn't there, then more then likely the trader was killed by another player. Go to the next one.

No idea. I know they are on Altis. I have no idea if the devs put them on Chernarus. I don't run that map.

Even ones with brown dots? I went to red dot traders and they weren't there, but most of the brown dots I went to had no trader. Do they not update until the server restarts?

Red dot with no text are dead traders and there will be nothing there. Some traders on Chernarus are bugged and they me be in an non-enterable building so you won't see them (haven't experienced that myself but it is possible)

That may explain all those brown dots sitting in the forest in Western Chernarus... I thought it maybe some cross over from my Stratis map.  Are the brown dots (traders) suppose to move around??? As mine seem to be liking the forest a little too much :)
