    Here's what I don't get, you play stupid all along and know what the deal is. You already know that the checks in place will be removed in time yet you still use it as the ultimate excuse.
     
    How about you just wait until we have a version that you can fully modify till your hearts content. I'm getting sick of this circle jerk you keep bringing here. Please make sure you take every aspect into account before making yet another redundant post.

    They probably should have kept it to themselves for much longer imo. - because the majority seems to be unaware that this alpha mod is extremely unfinished. You found some redundant callextensions and code that negates itself, well that IS a part of testing and fixing shit (ie. alpha) optimizing code is a process.

    Like they themselves keep saying over, and over, and over... once there's a working foundation of the mod, once it has matured enough, these extra "checks and balances" will be removed. During the testing phase they want to keep things in lockdown. Obviously people are getting around that, obviously people are doing what they want with the mod anyways, and I do understand why, because they want this mod to have more features and functions and stuff so it is more like what currently is in vanilla.

    Well guess what, that's the very same goal that the devs have, but they want to have a stable platform on which to build those additional functions. They want to fix all the issues with the core of the mod BEFORE they add a bunch of stuff on top of it. And they want feedback and reports on that very core, because of feedback received about something that breaks because of something added on a custom server is completely useless to them.

    Again, I think they should've just kept it under wraps until such a time where the foundation was more complete, and the code was more proofread, etc. - this would've kept so much drama at bay. But like the saying goes: once the cat is out of the bag...

    Kill on sight would be a natural state of mind in an apocalypse, starvation, poverty and the losses already experienced with the need to survive should lead to that, throw in some human nature it really isn't going to go any other way.
     
    I can't see PVP ever being 'punished', is as valid a game play as PVE, I have learnt to be wary of other players and stalk them or avoid them, I generally play PVE, when I get time to actually play the game ;)
     
    That said, personally, I think there is a missing element to allow for lone players to meet up and form a band in game, with no other external interaction, such as forums. A previous meeting, out of the game, detracts from the immersion.
     
    Enforcement and punishment for behaviour should be environmental only, realism is key, immersing the player is king.

    Well, the OP already took this road "Almost everyone has a problem with "KoS" (Kill on Sight) players."
     
    Newsflash: "Almost everyone" most likely doesn't have a problem with KoS, a certain group of people probably does. Personally i'm not sure how big this group is but from playing DayZ for years I can safely assume that KoS is the more common playstyle.

    I would advise for people to wait sometime before trying to put these kinds of scripts to work, harvesting is planned by the epoch dev team ( i think the next build will have poppy harvesting).
    People are anxious to put all the scripts they had working in Dayz Epoch but this is still in an early stage and creating addons at this stage is almost pointless due to the constant updates of server and client files, wait it off, eat some scam!

    Considering the mileage we are getting out of ARMA 3 and the effort BI are putting into developing the platform, I think some active encouragement to cough up a few extra $ for extra content is reasonable. Chances are that we can afford it if we are sitting in front of the kind of pc that can handle A3 multiplayer.

    Welcome to desync and a lot of whining about people not being able to find vehicles if such thing would be implemented.

    And would you just be able to drive past fresh spawned vehicles and lock everyone even if it's a crap car you don't want and you won't need to sell the vehicles right after restart just fly around lock everyone then sell.

    Sure everyone has lost vehicles with good gear but does not finding a vehicle with good gear bring more joy to you then losing one hurts. I get happy like a little kid and then nervous for the ride to home.

    Exploring and finding shit is fun don't take that away.

    I had thought about setting the lock time for vehicles to be pretty much permanent, then I thought about how people would grief and lock every car they find. I prefer the current system of the cars unlocking. This isn't Dayz Epoch. Stop using vehicles as storage.

    Instead of thinking that you loot 15 minutes too long, think about the situation that you join a server and simply cant get a car... car limit exceeded by locked cars, NO CAR TO LOSE!

    Since you were so sure that everyone misses the old key system, i dont. This new locking system creates alot of interesting gameplay.
     
    1) You actually have to build a base to store vehicles. No longer people can be just leaving locked cars littering the landscape. now if you find a car, you can get into it. 
    2) If people do not have a garage they will sell their vehicles to traders, gives possibility of traders having vehicles (new system doesn't have endless supply of buyable cars)
    3) Creates really fun situations in combat when a car is one more timer you have to think about. If you have something valuable like a Hunter you guys are fighting for to protect, you do have to go to the car after 30mins to lock it again.
     
       
    Too common safes really ruined raiding bases on Arma 2 Epoch, only new players were targets for raiding as everyone who had more than 2 weeks on a server had all of their stuff in a safe. I really like the change where lockable containers are destructible and really small so this creates yet another motivation to build a base.
     
    This is not ideal for solo players, but solo players can store their items as Krypto in the ATM and buy their gear from the traders.
