    There have been many changes made on the server over the last few weeks. This post summarizes them: Two new Trader camps (Safe Zones) have been added. The Northern Camp at Molos airfield and the Southern Camp on the coast, west of Vikos. All cinder, except garage doors, metal floors, HESCOs and Base Jammers are now indestructible Fireplaces are now persistent More laser designators added and they should now persist through restart in your gear Reworked vehicle spawn system fixing the issues of exploding vics and disappearing/reappearing ones at restart. Also, all vics are now God-Moded from server restart until first unlocked Ospreys and Apaches added to roaming helo patrols Lots of new vehicles spawn on the map: armed Blackcats, armed Merlin, Seahawk, Sea Dragon, MTVRs (incl. reammo, repair and refuel - use these and the new Urals for CUP vics), Urals (incl. reammo and repair), UN vics (including BTR-60, armed UAZ and BMP-2), ION's Ka-60 Infected removed from Stavros... they were constantly attracted into the Central Trader Camp. Replaced with guerillas (courtesy of the Enemy Occupation System) to avoid opening Stavros to easy looting. A few under the covers changes to increase the difficulty of the server subtly Also, to reiterate that outside of the Safe Zones the world is an unhealthy place. Safe Zone combat is prohibited by script, camping safe zones is prohibited by a warning then a ban. All other areas are free-fire zones, including black market and Epoch traders that spawn outside the safe zones!

    Anything that we released APL-SA can be modified and redistributed provided credits are given (ideally in the same place your own credits are listed) and you should release our modified game mode code and config changes under the same license.

    The models and some other assets that are not APL-SA yet can still be used by simply using @Epoch mod as a dependency in steam workshop along side your own mod/s. As of Epoch 0.4+ I am making changes that will simplify our configs and remove most Epoch game mode related config overrides so that @Epoch mod can become more of a pure modders resource for assets, this way we can have multiple game modes SP or MP that all share the same assets. 
     
    Pending permission from the authors of the models and other assets the plan is to release more and more assets as APL-SA licensed via the github links above with each major update at the same time laying the groundwork for more community contributions.

    Trying to create the feel of John Ringo's Black Tide Rising universe with less weaponry available, though if you want to chase Zs with a Saiga they are around. Knock yourself out.

    Required Mods
    Ryan's Zombies and Demons: currently using COS to spawn the Zs, though there are also native spawns around the map with more to come. Normal infected in urban areas are walkers, the spawns are fast Zombies so watch out.
    CBA_A3, CUP Weapons, CUP Units, CUP Vehicles: it's 2025 with 2025 weapons and vehicles. I've completely overhauled loots.h for CUP but not increased the loot spawn chances.
    CUP Terrains Core: for upcoming map changes and the ports of old Wicked AI missions.

    RDS Civilian Vehicles: primarily for the deployable bicycle but you also get a load of old favourites including Thomas the Tractor and the excellent Yamaha TT650!

    Hellenic Armed Forces Mod (HAFM): for all those nice Greek uniforms and vehicles.

    Scripts
    A3EAI: with vehicle and helicopter patrols. AI patrols and spawns replace the default Epoch antagonists (apart from the Epoch UAVs and subsequent militia if you don;t shoot them down). The AI will interact with the Zs and vice versa.
    SEM, BlackEagl's and WAI Missions: all with weapons, equipment and loot customized for CUP and including SEM Convoy missions. And yes, there is the WAI Nuke mission. If no one's dealt with that before the timer expires run like hell
    DayZ style Helicopter Crash Sites: with reduced CUP-based loot.
    C-130 Supply Drops, guarded by AI and with CUP-based loot.
    Deployable and packable bicycles and unarmed mozzies, so long as you have a Tool Kit (available in starting gear) and the other build parts (just Vehicle Repair Parts for a bicycle).

    Guess you worked out the mods. I always update the first post with major changes. Thanks for the kind words, will be adding more on both Altis an our Tanoa server. Also we have several new admins coming onboard asap, all good people.
    Will be adding VEMF Reloaded soon when I can code it to remove infected when the town invasions happen

    Hey Guys,

    Funny enough, I had made filters for all cfgweapons and then noticed they didn't even get filtered so I removed them.  This recent change is actually fixing a long standing issue so I will amend the filters soon to account for this and other changes in 1.64. Time permitting, I will try to get another server side build of 0.3.9 released in the next few days. 
    Please report any other issues since Arma 3 1.64 in this thread.

    Sorry missed this thread. Thanks again @Kixo appreciate the kind words.
    Both EpochZ servers are 3 hours day, one hour night, no vote day but I have the default Epoch night light.
    Also, our zombies are not the normal Epoch adversaries. I use a different mechanism to handle infected populations on the map because I have a different time line than Epoch's (mine is based on John Ringo's Black Tide Rising books). Both systems, mine and Epoch's are good and players should try both for the full experience.

    We've had those kicks for a while, probably because we were using one of the 'performance updates' that must have incorporated the new methods.
    Had to turn off addweaponcargo kicks totally because it seemed to be able to happen with any items - but for some strange reason, not all the time.

    This server has been decommissioned due to lack of donations to keep it running.

Since The Fall, humanity has made great strides in reclaiming this world from the infected. Automated factories have been brought online 24x7 to produce weaponry and equipment which was under development before civilization collapsed. While twenty years have passed, the infected still survive anywhere that there is food and water and, though clearing continues in North America, Europe and Asia, attention has moved to clear the islands of the south Pacific.
    Trying to continue to develop and expand the feel of John Ringo's Black Tide Rising universe into the future. This server features Vanilla ARMA3 and Apex weaponry, vehicles and equipment on an incredibly atmospheric map. The numbers of infected are higher, thanks to the smaller map size and reduction in the number of mods.

    You may be one of those affected by a 1.64 bug. I've seen reports of poor FPS that is sorted by the dev build of ARMA that hopefully will be released asap by BIS. I actually don't know, but you may want to try downloading the latest dev build from BIS. People have said that their FPS issues were sorted. But it seems to be a problem affecting certain, not all users.
    And thanks for your kind comment on the server. I've been negligent in paying attention to EpochZ: Black Tide with the work on Oz. When the buildings there are fixed I will certainly revisit it but once I decided that the issues were too glaring I quickly worked to bring our second server up on Tanoa. Got to say, loving that map, so atmospheric in a "Zombie" Apocalypse.

    Been a while since I've updated this thread. Been busy on our second server - more on that on a second thread, suffice to say that Oz and it's buildings are not yet up to par. Some of the changes since the last update:

    When i had updated Cup weapons and vehicles to 1.7.1 i used FileZilla to FTP to my server. It showed as being there in my game file list and the keys were correct.
    But as i said the console told me different, so i uninstalled and reinstalled both using the Streamline services mod manager, restarted the server and they showed as being 1.7.1 in the startup.
    I guessing that whatever i FTP to my server (including A3EAI) just shows as there but is not functional. Is that the cause you think?
     
    I have since upload all the A3EAIcontd files to the server by the TCadmin panel, check all files against the zip to make sure all the installation package is there , checked for case sensitive errors, recheck command line parameters , and still no joy.
    4 hours and much swearing later and i have it working.... long story short... i need to read instructions more carefully. PBO's were in @Epoch/addons instead of Root Dir. Thanks all.

    "Orders from the Colonel: we're to start providing aid to the survivors to get infected levels down to a point where they can self-extract. The word's gone out that we'll be establishing re-ammo and repair centres around the island as soon as possible"
    Added Halv's Repair & Rearming Script - the vehicle repair/reammo centres are established in the mechanic's shops that exist in some gas stations around the island.
    There are NO Safe Zones, it's a Zombie Apocalypse. Removed all player protection in the spawn centres and black market traders. This was done for two reasons, the first being that it's a ZA and the second that the AI (UAVs, then militia) would spawn near or (specifically the infected) would follow you back to the spawn centres and, while they can kill you, you can't kill them. This is not a change to allow a free-for-all in the traders and if it becomes a problem I will revert this change and act with extreme prejudice against the transgressors. We're all fine with PvP, no problem, but don't be a douche or you'll find yourself 500m in the air without a parachute!
    Upgraded SEM to 0.8.3beta and added Convoy Missions including a new Mechanized Column variant.
    Lots of new vehicles from the latest CUP Vehicles update (primarily BAF) have been added to the vehicle spawn list (which is a custom list not the default Epoch/CUP one).
    Epoch mod updated to build 427

    I have done 2 things: 
     Simplified the newer 0.3.9 load vehicles function, as I realized sleep was not needed as allowDamage does not effect scripted damage (per the BI wiki) Added old load vehicle script and a epochconfig,hpp flag to use it: https://github.com/EpochModTeam/Epoch/blob/release/Server_Install_Pack/%40epochhive/epochconfig.hpp#L62

    I have tested a lot with this problem.
    0.3.9:
    - First Login -> fps ok
    - simulation for all vehicles is disabled (tested via script)
    - Relog after a few minutes -> poor fps
    - manually enabled all simulations (via script) -> fps gos up to normal level
    - relog -> fps ok
    - manually disable all simulations -> all ok
    - relog -> poor fps
     
    The same I tested with the 0.3.8 file and never had poor fps (same Server, only changed the one file)
    So it must be a problem between the Vehicle load AND simulation.
     
    Now I stay at the 0.3.8 vehicle load and have simulationhandler enabled with approx 180 Vehicles.

    Yes, and implemented new server PBO. No difference to users. One point, not sure of relevence but: I do not have client FPS issues, but I never got great performance due to really crap built-in GPU (one reason I'm a server owner/developer I guess). I get my usual 14-15FPS. People with good GPUs are getting less than 5... Is that useful info?
    I will take the load_vehicles and let you know in 20 mins... need to smoke half a pack of cigarettes right now

    Wipe isnt the solution. We wiped , and after the next restart (3hours) the FPS trouble began again at medium playercount. Even with the new server.pbo from the Hotfix.

    @He-Man and I have reproduced this issue on one of his servers at first look it does seem related to large vehicle counts and/or the vehicle simulation handler not working correctly.
    For now I would say to try to disable the vehicle simulation handler by setting "simulationHandler" to false:

    I generally try to get the manual links going as soon as possible (hence moddb).  However the http file mirror host has not gotten around to updating his mirror yet. PwS has an issue that is preventing me from updating that I have contacted them about and armaholic has been notified about the update.
    @Grahame if you have a dedicated server you should be able to install steamcmd and use this batch file: https://github.com/EpochModTeam/Epoch/blob/release/Tools/Install/InstallEpoch.cmd you just need to edit the batch file to use your login information (the account that owns A3).
