Really happy with the new gun additions coming wondering about the marksman DLC

Is that a confirmed DLC? Also, am I the only one that despise the fact that Arma 3 has dlc? Seriously, 45€ for the game, 13€ for heliocpters, 1.50€ for gokarts and probably 10€ or so for weapons..

nah you are not, it does feel like they are going BF route, however we still have ability to create mods ourselves. Problem is with mod devs and servers running and thus supporting those DLCs, which kind of forces people to buy them. This is pay to win (pay to play) in its purest form.

Pretty much yes. Altough I appreicate that they allow us to play even though we don't have the DLC. Like with the go-karts. I could see it, I just couldn't drive it. So I purchased the DLC to drive it. Turns out the go-kart didn't have any gas.

Still, it is sort of annoying. They deliver a game that is very lacking when it comes to weapons and vehicles and then offers them as DLC. Not what I would expect from the ArmA franchise.

It's all very weird but maybe it will be working out in the end, but I really hope they lower the retail price on ArmA 3 because this is stupid.

Also, don't forget that the helicopter dlc had like what? 3-4 helis for that price. One quarter the price of the full game more or less and very limited content. Percentage wise, that is a scam.

The Heli DLC update added alot more than just a couple helicopters.... atleast they do not force you to buy the DLC like many other companies and you can still play on every server with or without. But yes I do agree the weapons are lackluster when it comes to quantity and I am looking forward to all the custom/ported weaponry making an appearance

what is pay to play.  I know I am not mistaken in the fact that you can play any game mode that you want that includes the dlc content but you just cant use the content.  Also notice that a lot of things are getting added for free like shooting from vehicles.  Im sure if bohemia was just trying to screw you they wouldnt have added such a sought after feature.  I could go on but I digress.

12 bucks for two heli's is pay to play, you want to play with them , you must first pay..

Also when you buy an unfinished Arma game for top retail price, I would hope for free content updates...Lots of them, often..

Sorry to rain on the parade of Arma devs, but their game is far from good enough to nickel and dime the players to death.. Just look at the comments on steam to start with..

All DLC is 'pay to play' in that sense. What I can't understand is how anyone can say the game is unfinished. In terms of content, the sandbox nature of the game means you are likely to get 200+ hours out of the game if you just play vanilla multiplayer and the campaign (which has infinitely more replay value than most full price AAA games). When you include mods, that's easily double or triple that. Even if you paid full price (the game has been available for over half price on several occasions now), you're still getting more content than most other games. BI have created some of the biggest land masses and environments known in gaming, and some of the most graphically pleasing. Not to mention the tools and modding features to ensure the game will be active for years and years to come.

The DLC isn't pay to play like other mods in that it's perfectly possible to access the helicopters in game without being able to fly them. All the mechanics to go with these are free to all. BI wouldn't continue to develop the game if there wasn't some sort of paid content to ensure it. If you remember, OFP and Arma 2 both had 'DLC' in the form of expansion games. The fact that they have opted to continue to develop the mechanics of the game and have obviously listened to the player base is a good thing. BI know that modders and fans will continue to develop their own weapons of their own, (including and let's not forget, free and open release of ALL the previous weapons from A2+expansions to the community). To complain of a shortage of weapons and content is daft. If you personally don't want to purchase the Heli's then don't. Just enjoy all the stuff that has come your way for free. These mechanics are a great addition to the game and didn't need to be in the game from the start at all.

I'll buy any expansion that comes for arma 3, as long as it's good quality and good content. The Karts expansion i only bought because the profits go to charity.

Modding or not, bohemia makes a lot of great quality content for a great quality game. I don't understand how players feel entitled to years of free content for just 50eur? They already -got- years of content for that price. DLCs can be slightly overpriced and lack content.. but then again it's always the customer's choice to buy it or not.

Seriously, the epoch community is the most entitled community i've ever seen. "I demand source code for epoch mod because community made a2 epoch good, I demand to modify prices, I demand to modify the map, I want to monetize my players, I demand bohemia to give free content, I demand epoch devs to work faster, I demand epoch devs to make content i like" ... Who ever said this community is good?

Couldn't agree more. Too much want not enough giving back. And not being funny I don't mind paying the money for the DLC if it means I will have more access to FREE modded content

Unfinished game? Considering the hours most people I know that play ARMA3 have digged into it it's one of the cheapest games out there.

Most have payed 40-45 for ARMA3 and have 500-1500h in it whilst DayZ SA went for 20-25 and most I know have 10-100h in it. I see the DLC's for ARMA as donations in which you get something in return. Bohemian is a rather small company which I'm glad to help out considering what they have done with ARMA3.

ARMA3 is almost 2 years old but if you look at what their opponents are dropping now it feels like it would come from 2 years in the future.
