Making custom map content - request here

Hello.

 

For the first demand, i've in mind some kind of industrial "town" at the podeba dam.

 

Map: Chernarus

Location/coordinates: I don't have coordinate but it's at the north of Gvozdno

PVP/PVE/mixed: Mixed

Request/idea: For me, the dam should be a great place for some industrial factory. I see something like the industrial style of cherno, hight buildings, with converyor between them, like a little maze, some hangar, tank, etc... Maybe something look like an oil factory or something like that.

Extra information: Nothing particular for now

For buildings, you can use the setVectorUp.

 

I've done a few test, and when you add an object, put this in init field: this setVectorUp [0,0,+0.1];

It should be at the very end of the init field, if you have other instructions.

 

With that, your building will not "snapp" with the terrain.

 

But, if you move the object, it will snapp the terrain, and so you will have to reload to view the correct result

Yeah that's right but the problem with it being is that either side of the building will either be sticking out of the ground 'floating' or being burried under the ground, already working on it but the high buildings will not be possible at that area, because you have to add multiple buildings (just like in cherno) and line them up correctly, hight-wise and with the different levels of ground surface it makes it a mission impossible. But i'm still trying to set up a industrial city over there, factory and all.

Well, not bad, may be align the walls but i think it's really tricky ^^

 

But yes, i like the general idea !

 

May be more "industrial" style thing, like few containers, few trick wreck, etc.. ?

 

Oh and BTW after you finished, are you going to share all the stuff, like .biedi and .sqf or not ?

I am pretty sure I know how to fix that floating bug! Make sure you save it in the editor like 4 times in a row until your screen goes black and takes a second to save, then check back that nothing is floating and you should be good!

 

When you are dealing with roads or floating/rotated objects, always make sure to save once, reposition it as it will shift during the save and then reposition it again and save it again. This way it will stay where it should be.

 

Does not matter, when dealing with mountaines terrain like that it will not stay in position after saving, that's also why I added the 'upright' code in it but that makes the whole building float. And I save after every item that I build to ensure that the position the object is in, stays exact the same position as I had it. Like I said; sometimes it works and most of the time it fails; tough luck; try somewhere else.

PVP/PVE/mixed:

mixed

Request/idea:

NWA Aircraft Trader: I just want a little area (can be your own design not looking for anything special, will give full credit to all work) that can't be camped by snipers at the airfield and a trader with skin RU_Pilot.

Guba Bay Trader: I want an area big enough to hold 1 barracks and a camo net tower nest (the 2 floored one), along with a fueltank to refuel at. Also 1 trader with skin Hooker4 inside first flloor camo net tower nest. (can do your own design for walls and face the barracks and nest however you like)
