Most DLC item I just ignore. The helmets, the carts, the starter pistol are all insignificant for Epoch.

The helicopters which can the lift, well those change the game and add a special element to it. I know people want free and are annoyed they have to pay anything to play, but after the price of Arma 3, the DLC is not a lot of money and adds a great deal of interesting elements to the game.  I would hate to see it removed.

So, when playing on any Highly populated servers I Have found that large groups of players will build in EXTREAMLY High Loot areas. Mainly being Construction sites. They will block the area out and for the most part never have to expose them selfs to loot. In the real world if you were to build like this, yeah for sure you would get everything availible but things just would not magicly appear. There for I would like to suggest that if someone places a jammer down to build then the loot in that area no longer spawns.

IMHO if you want to build your base in an exsisting building thats fine but you should not be able to get constant free massive loot.

I have not had a chance to test this out since I haven't been able to find a satchel charge. But if you're able to bring down an existing building [i.e. the construction/crane building] and someone has build a base in there. The falling building should automaticly destroy all walls and FrqJammer inside.

1- You shouldn't have tried to loot the bodies until you killed the other 2 members of said group.
2- Learn that once you kill a member of a group the others are going to try and get revenge and protect dead persons gear. I think you excepted, hey good shot please come on over and take my friends gear...
3- Learn to not engage a group when you are out numbered 4 to 1...
4-  Learn that if you less than 3k from spawn, they are going to run back to try and recover their gear. I bet you did the same thing after you were killed...

It looks like I'm the only one to agree with OP - or at least to some degree.

I don't think people shouldn't be "allowed" to go back to their dead bodies, but I'd like to see some measures being implemented to delay people from doing so. What I've been thinking about suggesting to the developers is a slightly different spawn model than the one currently in place: When you interact with a hatch in the spawn-island you are not teleported to a fixed location on the map (aka safe zone), but rather a more random location.

To clarify, if you want to go to Kavala, you would pick the left hatch and then be teleported to the Safe Zone near Syrta. This is the way it works now. What I'm suggesting is that if you pick the left hatch, you will be teleported in a random location on the west side of the map. It could be near Zaros, near Kore, or near Abdera - all of which are in the west and relatively near your desired destination. Similarly, picking the right hatch could perhaps take you near Chalkeia, near Sofia, or near Rodopoli.

This has many benefits in my opinion:
It reduces people from doing post-mortem plans before they die. If you know where you will spawn once you die, you can easily plan ahead and take riskier decisions, or re-equip lost gear within minutes if conditions allow. It prevents spawn-camping. If people are more scattered across the map, spawn-campers will have less targets to kill, and thus discourage them from doing it in the first place. It gives new-spawns a greater chance of finding gear. If people are spawn in different locations, the competition between them to find loot will be greatly reduced. Reduces activity in "hot-spots" (which are usually death-traps) and increases activity in otherwise "dead" parts of the map for a more diverse gameplay. Introduce a 60-second respawn timer and along with the above, the issue you mention should be mitigated quite well.
    Just my 2 cents.

For those who feel claustrophobic in FP, if you haven't already...get a trackIR.  Worth every penny and steps up the immersion to another level.   It will take a bit to get used to, but after that, you can't play without it.

TL DR: All I got from skimming this was: I can't navigate, I suck at playing warfare sims: I need to go outside with a compass and map in real life and learn how to do shit properly: cry, whinge, curl up in ball and sob because it's too hard to navigate.

I removed the ability to place waypoints on my ARMA 2 Epoch server and OMG did people cry about that. Seems nobody learns how to use a map anymore.

In ANY Armed Force across the world the use of a compass and map isn't Gay, its called skill. Have you forgotten this?
There's nothing that pisses me off more then someone that cant find there position because their battery's are flat.
The Navigation within the game is fine.

Well i dont like gettin your position as easy as it is now in "normal" mode.

In this case i dont care about realism what could be in 2035 or not.

I dont like the idea of gettin DayZ casual style. My experiences showed me that the harder it gets the more it gets fun.

Everytime i find a city by just knowing my spawnpoint and havin a map without any other tools im really happy.

And guess what after several hours of gaming im pretty good in finding everything without compass /gps/ markers.

Thats the point where u get very good and u get a huge advantage. Its called skill.

Im new to Arma3 and i dont have this orienting-skill yet. But im workin on it. And yes it needs time.

If i want speedy action and no intense fights i play another game. But i love the thrill in DayZ. Thats why i dont play any other games anymore. Other games just doesnt thrill me at all anymore.

Thats why i like it hardcore. Thats why i dont like markers. Thats why i like food and drink to be rare.

Of course this is only my opinion. What do you think?

Anyway, I read a lot of people mentioning realism and comparing to RL helicopters - are you guys pilots IRL? I mean, I agree with your arguments and opinions, it's just that it's unusual how peopple are trying to compare our in-game experience with RL, and my assumption is that the chances are low that we have that many pilots here :)

no means is it realistic, but its more realistic then the arcade style (like the way you put that), and your negative is one of my favorite things. Now not everyone can fly a heli which increases crashes, which increases the chances of you finding them and not some mega base hoarding them. im the designated pilot of the group, we have another guy who took the flight lessons and is getting much better, but the other members of the group wont even touch the pilot seat lol

i would also agree, it is a hell of alot more realistic then the old system and id like to retract all previous statements about this new flight system,
I FUCKING LOVE IT!!! so much more challenging and accurate then the last and it doesn't allow just every bambi to run up and handle them like they've been flying their whole life. and towing vehicles with these things are so much fun, the weight distribution, gear/doors being open effecting the flight pattern. its awesome, but there's a huge problem with most of them, their buggy as hell, most dlc choppers like to bounce 5 feet when your first hopping in them (this has caused me to loose at least 6 choppers in the past 4 days) and their spawns need to be checked out, 3/5 times i find one its on such a steep incline the wheel brakes don't do a thing and the copter just rolls into a tree or something and boom, paired with the hopping and its a near definite death trap when you don't find a heli on an open flat area

All in all i LOVE the new flight mechanics but the new choppers need ALOT of work.

Personally, I think the AFM should be forced, helicopters give such an advantage that it should take a corresponding amount of skill to fly them.  Not that the AFM requires a huge amount of skill.

I wish this many people would rally for first person only! I really can see the bambis winning out though.

People complaining its too hard because they dont have a controller or joystick.. soon they'll be crying because they cant aim as fast as someone else because their IRL reactions arent good enough, so we'll all end up with 1 hp, 1 gun, 1 bullet and 1 button.. who ever presses the button makes both people accurately shoot at each other and you both die at exactly the same time. There you go, now thats fairness right!?

The funny thing is, you would have had to learn how to use the old flying system and at first even that can be a bit of a nightmare, then you learn it and its fine. People dont like change because they're lazy

SmokieMCPot in Arma3 by default are the old flight model, so if you want to practice you must switch to the new one.  Go to Configuration of Arma3 - Game or Gameplay, and you see an option to activate de Advanced Flight Model, then you can go to the editor and have fun with the new system!

Please stop crying, the new system is awesome!!! is hard yes, difficult yes! but 100% more real! and you have to get the skill now to drive helis!!!
