BetterDeadThanZed
I only play on my own A2 Epoch servers so I don't know if I'm having this problem elsewhere, but on both of my servers, I don't see my loading screen. Once I'm loaded in the server, there's an error on my screen saying that the loading screen couldn't be found. Everyone else sees the loading screen. What would cause this? Namindu
Where is the picture located in the PBO and show the description.ext
BetterDeadThanZed
It's properly set up in description.ext. This is a client issue. Just not sure how to get the leading screens to show up for me again.
ElDubya
c:/users/yourname/appdata/local/arma2oa/mpmissionscache/current mission See if you have the loading screen in there. If you do, you SHOULD be seeing it every time you connect? If not, try adding your load screen in there and see if it shows next time you connect. Weird issue though ..... BetterDeadThanZed
I deleted all the pbo files in the mpmissionscache folder, then tried joining another server and I had the same issue. Loading screen didn't show for me, and I got an error saying it was missing. So, for some reason, it seems my game/computer is blocking the loading screen from downloading? BetterDeadThanZed
Anyone have any suggestions? I get no custom loading or death screens in Epoch or any other Dayz mod. Any idea what could cause this?
BetterDeadThanZed
After doing more searching I finally found the solution. In case anyone else gets this, it turns out the addons folder in my OA install was empty. I copied everything from my regular arma 2 addons folder and it works now. :)
BetterDeadThanZed
I'm going to bump this up again because I'm having this problem again. In my reply 11 months ago I said I copied my addons folder to my OA install but now I see there's no addons folder in the OA folder so that isn't an option. Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be preventing loading screens from appearing for me?
ElDubya
I wouldn't be worried about why you can't see loading screens. I would be worried as to why a folder 8.2gig in size with 165 files inside has just ...... vanished ..... from your HDD? Anthrax
seelenapparat
go to you arma2 (not oa) directory and you might find the folder in there. copy it to you oa addons directory.
theduke
oo if what eldubya said is true, i would check your hard drives condition. If its a traditional HDD, (the disk, not ssd) download speedfan from bleepingcomputer. You can check the health of your HDD and see if you have corrupted sectors. BetterDeadThanZed
I changed the loading screen from jpg to paa format and it's working now. Strange because jpg has always worked in the past. Also, when I copied the Addons folder from my arma 2 folder to my arma 2 OA folder, I kept getting kicked off of the server. ViseVersa
There's a thing with these textures... It seems like loading and death pictures work better in root directory and textures like flags work only from a subfolder but can be any - jpg or paa
