Server no showing up on internet? Port Forwarding?

Guest

Question

Hallo,

Thanks for checking out this post.

But i have a problem. My server is not showing up any more on the arma 2 internet list, but when i switch over to LAN it has two of them, so my server, but twice.

And i think its because i maybe didn't port forward good, that's were i also got an question, because my config file says:

steamport = 2312;
steamqueryport = 2313
hostName = "[AOS] Bonfire I DayzEpochCherno I AI Missions I Auto Refuel & repair/rearm I TraderSafeZone I CustomMapAdditions I IGNORE MISSION:ARMA3 OR CREATING SERVER IS OPEN!!!  (1.0.5/103718)";
password = "";
passwordAdmin = "computer99";
maxPlayers = 15;
logFile = "server_log.txt";
voteThreshold = 2;
voteMissionPlayers = 3;
reportingIP = "arma2oapc.master.gamespy.com";
timeStampFormat = "short";
motd[] = {"Welcome To:","[AOS] Bonfire!","Thnks for joing and have a good time","Check in-scroll menu/action menu/rules for the rules","Also check deploy menu in action menu for deploy bike or mozzy","Admins: EditedSnowHD"};
motdInterval = 0;
vonCodecQuality = 11;
disableVoN = 0;
kickduplicate = 1;
verifySignatures = 2;
persistent = 1;
BattlEye = 1;
doubleIdDetected = "";
onUserConnected = "";
onUserDisconnected = "";
onUnsignedData = "kick (_this select 0)";
onHackedData =     "kick (_this select 0)";
onDifferentData = "";
regularCheck = "";
requiredBuild = 103718;
requiredSecureId = 2;

class Missions
{
    class Mission1
    {
        template = "DayZ_Epoch_11.Chernarus";
        difficulty="Recruit";
    };

};

it says:

steamport = 2312;
steamqueryport = 2313

but i know, the steam port is 2302, so for what values am i going to use? 2302-2313 or 2312-2313? i know what to do with port forwarding, cuz i messing around with it for a while right now, but i dont know what to do now?

If your server is running on port 2302, then your SteamQueryPort is 2303 and your SteamPort is 2404.  It's always query port = +1 and steam port = +2.  Once you make the changes and restart let your server run for a while.  It can take up to an hour for the Steam server browser to update.  If you have trouble finding your server in DayZ Commander, try finding it based off of the steamqueryport.  Or you could also try DayZLauncher instead.  It tends to be more responsive anyways.

So what you say is: That when i need to port forward, my steamport = 2312; + 2 = 2314 steamqueryport = 2313+1 = 2314 , so what i need to portforward is 2314-2314 and BOTH ? and then let my server run for atleast an ouhr? but can i play on it, while its staying up for like an ouhr? but the most important is that, what do i need to put in my port forward adresses? 2312-2314 or 2314-2314 or what :D

Thnks for all the help btw

If your router requires you to do port forwarding then yes, you will have to open all relevant ports, including your server port, steamport, and steamqueryport.  If you're running the server on your home machine and you intend to play on the same machine, you can certainly do so.  But getting others to connect to it from the outside world isn't always easy.  Some routers can be rather picky about what traffic it allows inside the internal network.
