Creating Base Building welcome packages like....

Question

I want to give all my new clans a Base Building welcome package like this:

Can anyone point me in the right direction please.  I won't be charging for mine, all players will get something similar to this on their first spawn :)

Haha! No, that page was just an example (I only want to give enough for a small base, 4 floors, 4 walls, that kind of thing.... I thought if that other server were able to do it, then maybe there's a tut or faq already.  No worries if its a major technical thing, I'll find a way around it :D

It depends what you have running already. My antihack lets me spawn things in game so its easy for me.

If you dont have any such thing then you could always put the items in a ural you have control of via the database and then after the restart it would be in the ural

I'm just running vanilla epoch and BE.  I guess I'll look into the doing through the database :) Thanks.

Adding things via the db is easy enough to do as long as you keep an eye on your formatting.

thats a copy from a urals gear in my database, to start with it looked confusing to me but when you get used to it being [[[weapons],[qty]],[[mags],[qty]],[[backpacks],[qty]]] it makes sense. You just need to make sure the items are in the correct place and surrounded with " ".

 

e.g

[[["gun1","gun2"],[1,1]],[["mag1","mag2","mag3"],[2,1,4]],[["bag1"],[1]]]

If u figure out how to get locations for the crate , but my guess is 

Place an object in Arma 2 Editor (ALT-E) in Menu and go to Chernarus , Place an vehicle where u want the box , Save the mission to whatever you want , Go to Documents , Arma 2 Profiles , missions , open the whatever you want name mission file .sqf

 

Look for the line ( I have an verry old example )

It should work i guess, Didn't test it , Let me know.

 

Loosing soo much players with whitelisting and don't have a good anti-hack , thank me with a good one :p (I don't have my own server , i'm helping some german owners maintaining the server) :p

Part of the fun of gaming is finding loot, harvesting wood and materials to build a base, if you hand your players everything on a plate or give stuff to donators it unbalances a server and you end up making it harder for those that don't donate.

Imo, the only donator perk that is viable to not make things unfair is humanity gains.

Everybody gets it, no matter whether they donate or not.  IMO people donate because they like your server, want to reward you for your efforts and want to help with the running costs.  I've actually set up a small shed that only admins have access to, when a new player joins we go pick them up , give them some supplies from the shed and drop them at a location they'd like to start their journey.  Fro that point on, it's down to them.  :)
