  1. isn't the whole deal of the safezone to not allow pvp ^^

If you want a rule for 500m no pvp from safezone? ^^ then make the safezone 500m ^^

That would work in theory but people would still wait at the limit and then kill people. Which would turn out to safezone camping anyway.

We came to the conclusion that killing on the border of the safezone is not acceptable but you are allowed to camp outside of it, just not excessively.

just run a realistic server like mine, turn off safezones and encourage camping

We do encourage camping, or atleast I do. Safezones is only there to remove the annoyance of zombies and people greifing during trading. We still allow stealing and what not.

Stealing is a prime example. I've gotten a lot of shit from my players because we allow stealing.

  2. Afaik, if you run on port 4444 for example, like I do. Then you have to forward 4444 in both UDP and TCP and also forward 4443 in UDP and TCP.

    Individually.

Are you sure you've made everything correctly and made the IP public? On a side note, the ISP you're with may not allowed public IPS on private adresses.

  3. Oh oh, can I also advertise my server? We are like totally rad an hip. I'm the oldest by age in my admin team! How great is that! We have like no admin abuse except that we spawn as50 to new people who join! For more pvp!!!!!1  Pls follow  me on instagram., twitter, facebook and youtube

Jokes aside, we have actually cut back on a lot of our rules because it was just too much work for our admins to constantly monitor stuff like pvp within 500m of the safezone. This made some players unhappy and some players happy.

In the end, you do what you think is best for the server and the players, and people will always find a way to complain to or about the admins.

This is giving me around 500-1000 network message errors, not 52/52 24/7 but still got somewhat high pop.

  5. Hmm ok. Try setting the memory to single channel. Try downloading an old version of the graphics drivers.

Something that I know can cause problems is actually the battery on the motherboard. I know it sounds unlikely but that one can mess stuff up if it's running out and is too old.

Check USB ports as well, it does seem like the CPU might be overloaded as well.

Really, there can be tons of different problems causing this :/

  6. You seem to have bad drivers. Go to the computer management and open device manager, check for any unkown devices. After that, install the corresponding sound drivers, video drivers etc. Have you tried downgrading the grapics drivers too? Getting an older version.

What you are describing does seem like a video driver problem, maybe caused by Catalyst etc. I had similar problems and downgrading a few versions solved it I think.

Also, do you run the memories in single or dual channel on the mother board?

  7. We have this problem too. However, wiping the database did stop a lot of our problems (We had over 9000 items in the object_data part). Although, it seems to be returning ever so slightly. The thing is, before 2 hours and 30 mins it is pretty much fine but after a while it starts going haywire with seagulls and slow buy time and stuck on retrying authentication. This leads me to believe that there is some problem with how the cache or data is handled between the server scripts and the database.

Look for major changes in the code and compare them to 1.0.4.2 and see if you can identify anything. We have managed to limit most of these problems but sometimes the buy time reaches 1 minute at most.

  8. Haha yea, it's an old remnant, contains a windows 95 boot or startup file so I can like dual boot or whatever. I used it for some nostaliga project.

And computers while deployed, ain't that some luxury :) - I didn't even get to see the internet during my conscription period. And yea, the dust has to be a nightmare!
