    Since we are making great strides on the backend development thanks to our newest team member Fank. I feel that we should be ready for a public release of our server files on approximately December 1st. I know there was a thread for those "Trusted Communities" but the demand has been so great that we feel the need to make it public for everyone. Leading up to Dec. 1st, our code developers will all be hard at work adding features and fixing as many bugs as we can. Also, our content developers will be adding more content as it becomes ready.
     
    The version number will likely be 0.2.5 or 0.3 by this time and not the 0.5 as I stated before. Please keep in mind that we are still very much in Alpha and will be for some time. Running a server is not going to be easy or without problems, errors, and plenty of headaches. 
     
    After the files are released GSP's may start selling servers and private server hosts can host on there own hardware. I will be getting in touch with each of our current GSP supporters before release to make sure they have had a chance to test and report any bugs so they can be prepared to host when we do release the files.

    Hi folks,
     
    I drove my car a bit beside a dirt road, now it is stucking, maybe it is shifting sand ;). We can not get it out, ok we can try it with an other vehicle, but it would be nice, when player can push the cars like a boat.

    I was just wondering this week when I played, I got this dlc icon in my right corner of my screen, after a while my screen was full of helmets for a while. It was the starter pistol. For me it is not a problem, if I know witch loot is in a dlc, I will not pick them up. Cause I love to fly, I will buy the chopper dlc soon.

    Well we have 26 on our hardcore server, which is more than our normal server and its still picking up!
     
    I dont know how much room for how many hardcore servers there are but until the server is sat at 0/50 for over a week we'll keep ours up and at this rate, its looking pretty good!
     
    I'm a huge fan of first person only in Arma, so I'll always try and run a first person server alongside a normal server. I even made a script for it to maybe make a hybrid in situations that count (server mods forum)

    I have had dedicated root server since about 15 years now, most time with linux running. I never took money from  ppl that played on my server, used my forum, neither I took money from ppl which got a email address on my domain. I got some money back with advertising, I paid tax for that in germany, but never ever demand money from my ppl.
     
    If admins take money or not, I would say it is up to them, but if it is against BI's rules, then they should not do it and for my understanding, it is against their rules.

    I won't play on a server, where you can get something in game for money. I will not pay for a reserved slot.

    It is true, that player are asking for every shit to get an advantage in game... The only thing I did, when I make a mistake and a player lost for example his chopper, then I gave him a new one. But they don't have the right to demand.

    +1 for this... CCG are the worst for it. Practically have to hand your wallet over to them to get anywhere in their servers. Hence why I actively boycott them when my friends play on their servers ;-)
     
    Not only is it completely against BI's license but it is also against Epoch MOD's T&C's.
     
    This is not Origins and the dev's are not led by kingcunt, so if you run an Epoch MOD (DayZ(Arma 2) or ArmA 3) then get rid of your pay2win shit it's not welcome, if you can't afford to run a server without it then you need to either shutdown or get your playerbase to donate just to keep the server alive it's that simple.

    I've been playing on BMRF but it's been jam packed lately.  I started playing on one of the unlocked ones but they don't have their database set up right and nothing is saving... soooo...
     
    I don't think the issue is about deserving anything.  They're giving passwords out of a basis of trust.  Am I saying that people who have been here sharing and expressing themselves to the community for a good length of time AND have shown dedication to the project in one way or another should be trusted over some guy that creates an account and says HEY I LIKE EPOCH CAN I HAZ PW?  Well... I would think so, but I don't know exactly what their process is.
     
    However, I'm thinking it's less that people are getting passed up and more that they're just getting overlooked because things are so crazy now.
     
    I didn't really ask for the pw myself because I'm not part of the in-crowd.  I can't really watch Twitch because my bandwidth blows and I don't really know what's going on half the time anyways, so I'll just sit idly waiting in the backdrop lol.

    I hosted a Dayz Epoch Server, we ran in lot of problems because of the Arma 2 issue with to many objects. After a lot of effort, we stoped that project. Not your fault.
     
    I supported you guys and the other admins with the mod, I wrote some db scripts and I posted them here.
     
    I tried to get it running with linux together with other admins.
     
    I didn't beg for a key for Arma 3 Epoch, I watched twitch and I got a key days later, that is ok for me, but I didn't understand, why you didn't give also keys to the supporter here in the forum.
     
    I posted bugs and suggestions on github and here in the forum.
     
    I wrote Axle a PM to get the PW for the G-portal.de server, because or group were testing these servers, he did read my PM, but no response.
     
    I got the PW for the Skaronator server, thanks Skaronator for that and thx for hosting a server, but right now I am not willing to play on that server.
     
    I do like Arma 3 Epoch, I guess, you guys should handle supporter a bit different.
     
    You need trusted player? Then get the ppl here in the forum who hosted a Server in the past and helped you and other ppl.
     
    I'd like to play A3 Epoch with my guys and I'd like to support you, but not that way.

    There are enough other things to play right now, I'll explore DayZ or I'll play Wasteland and King of the Hill, I'd prefer A3 epoch, but not this way!

    Arma has so much to offer and is a very flexible and fun game to play and mod. With this flexibility comes insecurity and a dark side.

    Yesterday I spoke with one of the "kids" that have been terrorizing our servers. He is demanding server files in exchange for stopping the attacks. I told him that the server files would have been released to more communities by now if we had something proven stable and secure. Something that this hack-a-thon is stopping us from doing. He offered up one exploit and then immediately started demanding that we give the server files in exchange. He then said that if we did not give them the server files in 24 hours the hacking would continue, and it has.
    Simply put, the current exploit they are using is a fault in ARMA and not an issue with our mod and will ultimately need to be fixed by BI.

    Until this issue is fixed by BI or another fix is found we will no longer be running any public servers.     So what I found out, one main problem do we get cause of the Bell Chopper, one player and the copper spawned we have had 15-16FPS, no chopper spawned 48FPS, since we removed this Bells, we have ~48 until we get more then ~16 players, then the FPS slowly decreasing. We wiped last friday and restricted modular buildings to 100 and the server is running well, I placed ~11 castle and ~13 towers on the map, which our player can use for theire base.

    Hello Folks,
     
    I need really your help, we tried a lot of things, it is not like that, that I installed our server and ask directly for help, but now I need you help.

    Server is running well when we got up to ~14 players, when we got 15+ player, the FPS starting to decrease constantly, also when the number of players decrease. What I saw is, every x minutes, the load on the 2 core where Dayz is running are droping to nerly zero and the load on the other cores are getting higher, at the same time I can see in the task manager, that mysql getting load from about nothing to a high load, at the same time we have only ~3FPS and massive desync.

    I did search weeks now to solve the problem, it was not so acute because the server was not so popular, but now we are getting mor player every day, we started the whitelist to slow down the increasing of player number :(.

    Here is one of our basic.cfg , we tryed really a lot of different setting:
     
     
    First we tried xamp, 2 days ago we installed mysql by hand, here the last my.ini:
     
     
     
    Our Hardware:
     
    The Network is 100Mbit, we got with 20-25 ~5Mbit on it.
     
    Our start parameter
     
     
    We are running Tavian 2.0, the most folder "ArmA 2 OA" are on a ramdrive, so that the HD can not be an issue on that side. I can see that the HD where mysql is running, is on a little load and the disk queue is ~0.00-0.05 , that is not really much.  Right now I could see it again, we have now 4 player, Arma is running on CPU0 and CPU2, you can see the load on the picture, at the red line mysql getting load and Arma going down.

    I need really your help, that is driving me crasy!

    yeah that is why I've tried to explain how epoch choses the vehicles to spawn, it is not perfect and with the function it uses you will never reach the amount specified in the dynamic_vehicle.sqf...
    maybe I will report that as a bug since most people don't understand how it works or better it should be fixed in the spawn code of epoch so it will work as intendet, hope that clarifies that a little :D
    so you could say that a "bug" in epoch..
