We "Might" be adding a feature to counteract losing your plot pole after death. It will probably work close to the same way keys work. As in, if you place a plot pole down you will get a "Deed" This deed can be kept in your safe or on your person. So if you die you will be able to get your deed back and reclaim ownership over the plot of land. This is not set in stone and can be changed at any time if we feel it needs it.
 
As for those dirty little bandits that can take out a base in no time..... Well that's a tough one, and as player building grows I'm sure we can think of ways to make it not so one sided. This is where you guys can help a lot. But just making it GUID bound is not the answer. Be imaginative, we need creative ideas that make sense and have purpose.

I see what you mean but I like the new system for adding more pressure upon everybody. Plus before, your stolen car had less potential outcomes. Now there are more, especially when the thief could well have your original key for it too. You could find it and have a spare key to retrieve the vehicle, or if you have no spare, find it and stake the area out to exact revenge.

We have talked about adding AI, we might have to start talking about it again since so many people are looking into it.

Lockable buildings will be a feature for a later patch. 

If we linked everything to your GUID the server would become overloaded with crap everywhere. After a while the server wouldn't run right.

I wanted to take this time to thank the Epoch dev team. I have been playing dayz since April 2012. I played dayz almost everyday until a few months ago. With all the hacking and Mods of the mod I would try every mod and all seem to miss the mark on what needed to be added to dayz.  Some had some cool ideas. I seen the Epoch Mod on Github. I knew when reading about epoch it would be the mod I was looking for in dayz. Moving into 1.0.1 shows what these devs can do. For that I thank you for bring dayz back for me.

Currently the lamp post doesn't require power. Just craft it and set it. It will illuminate at night and turn off during the day time. You can shoot the bulb out and stop the illumination on the ground, but the lamp cover will still show light. The bulb will fix on a server restart unless you knock down the pole. With the next patch the lamp post will require a generator.

Yep dayz.st does have great features but they are not officially supported by the epoch team and they are slow to deal with when it comes to updates/BE compatibility and a lot of Ddos outages ... So I switched to bloody dayz ..problem solved.
