  1. You ever thought of using something different for the timers? Because this script won't really run on popular/overloaded servers running on low FPS. My server runs on a average of 3 fps with 70 players online. This low fps will immensely slow down the way the timers work. Seconds will actually take longer causing 15 minutes to become 30 minutes. So when putting the initial timer at 40 minutes the entire script won't even run once during a 2 hour runtime of the server. Not sure if anyone with a overloaded server noticed anything like this tho. But it's a very known issue and I was hoping maybe you thought of something that could make these timers more reliable. I tried using serverTime instead of Time but that doesn't really help.

I made a similar script about a year ago but ran into this same problem so I canceled the project (players got a bit mad that they had to survive 40 min instead of 10).

EDIT: I seem to have found a way to introduce reliable timers with the help of a extension.

  2. So me and Ebay are trying to get this to work on 1.8.1. We got pretty far already I think since it seems like the zombies are being spawned and controlled by the HC. But the zombies that are spawned and controlled seem to act a bit weird.

    Video: http://youtu.be/pt5AYxN_P04?t=46s

As you can see in the video the zombies like "ignore" me. They run towards me but sometimes just run away from me and group up a couple of meters further up.

Does anyone have any idea what could be the reason they do this. Or where I should check i.e what files?

PS. We used Goobers base files for this.

  3. This does not work for my users.  They get a black screen with icons on the right.

However, if the users are able to load in (and still have the auth issue) and then infistar fails to init and they are kicked.  If the users flush their VRAM infistar kicks on and authenticates them.

Same problem here. I never have this problem myself but people report to have a black screen with icon and a working chat frequently. Flushing VRAM, changing resolution in the video options while being on the server or relogging entirely solves it.

  4. All the discussion in this thread and other threads and forums aside; the last known effort from the developer is his last release which is long time ago, isn't it? Safe to assume DayZ Commander is a dead project now. Time to move on friends...

I can move on unfortuanatly the players won't. Like mentioned before they don't even know what is going on at the moment. They use DZC and won't stop using it as long as it working because there is nothing telling them that they should move on. Dotjosh mentoined multiple time that was going to update DZC and I believed him. I don't like being lied to. If he doesn't want to update it so be it, but atleast give the people a heads up because what he is doing now is a real dick move. Excuse my language.

  5. He is not even responding to the developers on the DayZ mod. I have Josh on Skype he used to be online all the time but I haven't seen him in days. His steam account (if it's his) says he's been playing 60 hours of dota the last 2 weeks. If this is indeed him, I think he no longer really cares since he doesn't make a statement or respond. The last time I asked him what the status was on DZC he said that all code was in place and that it was just a matter of when. But that was 3 weeks ago, haven't heard anything since.

  6. DayzLauncher far surpasses DayZ Commander in every way other than popularity. That's the alternative right there, try it out for yourself. I agree he deserves respect for what he did in the past but just leaving everyone hanging like this is a little ridiculous, is it not? How hard is it to release a statement to stop all of these threads in their tracks?

Not entirely true. I like the DZC interface but thats just a design thing. The big thing I'm missing the ability to update your game through the launcher (I'm not even sure this would be possible since it works through steam now). But if that could be added I would definitly update my server and start advertising the launcher. And it's indeed very sad dotjosh is letting us down this way.

  7. ovh.com Is probably the best host I've ever had. I'm pretty sure Vilayer rents most of their server from them as well. Only OVH is cheaper. Best DDOS protection you can probably get. My server is highly ranked at the moment and gets a decent amount of DDOS attacks but no one managed to get it offline so far not even a bit of lag. Their customer service is not the best. But it's cheap and effective.

  8. did you update to 1.0.5.1, did you update your arma2oa version recently?

We started seeing this problem after upgrading to 1.0.5.1 (103718) but very inconsistent.  None of my usual users reported this.  We shortly switched to overpoch with very little change in the bug reports.  Then we moved to the latest 112555 and then the complaints started rolling in.

I don't think this is an issue with errors at all, even when I didn't fix the errors from 112555, they only got the errors (for instance from the fn_selfActions.sqf having uninitialized variables) after they go into the game successfully.

No I don't host Epoch I just have a regular DayZ server but I came to this forums because it's a lot more active then OpenDayz now a days. I don't think it's related to errors as well. Like I said I haven't changed anything in weeks and this started appearing about 3-4 days ago. It's not that bad, I get like 1-4 complaints per restart. But it's still weird.

  9. Royal, although I'm not getting large numbers of players at once, I have had a lot of new players joining the server each day and forum registrations are up.

Anyone not running the Steam version will soon find themselves with hackers that are running hacks and scripts that their outdated BE can't detect. You'll also find yourself behind in the Epoch versions (1.0.5.2 will require the Steam version) and when your servers suddenly no longer report to DayzCommander, you'll find yourself srambling to get your servers updated.

So, go with the recommendations of the Epoch devs and update to the Steam version and stop causing the playerbase to be fragmented.

I don't host Epoch :P. And I agree on the BE thing but like I said I and I think many others will stay on the recommended patch by DZC for as long as we can. I'm still getting a lot of new players because even new players still download DZC due to tutorials and forum recommendations from the past. Lets just hope Josh wakes up anytime soon so we can all be on the same patch and move the players over without any problems of loosing anyone :D

  10. Don't know what you are talking about. They're playing on my server. If everyone updated, the players would have no choice but to update. It's time for admins to get with the program and embrace what is inevitable.

I don't understand when you say "they" are playing on my server. There hasn't been a point in the last week when you had more then 10 players on your server at once. I don't want to offend you or anything but that's kind of low. I agree with your argument about that the update is going to be inevitable. But even if we would all update we would still loose a significant amount of players that have no idea that they should now use steam. I think that even if DZC never updates it will hit the DayZ community pretty hard. I'm pretty sure that there will be a big amount of players not being able to understand how to find servers and just think DayZ Mod died or dissapeared and give up. They probably don't even know Arma is related to steam. All they ever used is DZC. So I'll stay on this non-steam patch as long as I possibly can even tho its buggy as f*ck.

But I really hope Josh wakes up soon so we can move on ^^
