Properly Recompiling PBOs

LancerSolurus

Question

I am trying to recompile the dayz_server.pbo and day_code.pbo and it isn't working. The server simply crashes saying it can't find the...(this is from dayz_code.pbo)

2:39:03 Warning Message: Picture z\addons\dayz_code\gui\dayz_logo_ca.paa not found
2:39:03 Warning Message: Picture \z\addons\dayz_code\gui\dayz_logo_ca.paa not found
2:39:03 Warning Message: Picture z\addons\dayz_code\gui\dayz_logo_ca.paa not found
2:39:03 Warning Message: Picture \z\addons\dayz_code\gui\dayz_logo_ca.paa not found

ErrorMessage: Include file z\addons\dayz_code\system\REsec.sqf not found.

I ran across a post about setting the path properly yesterday but I can't seem to find it today in this sub-forum even using the search feature. So if anyone who has recompiled these files properly with BinPBO could lend a helping hand I would appreciate it a lot! With our own custom mods I don't have any problems like this.

I use PBO Manager (http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=16369) and never had a problem.

For the dayz_server.pbo to make sure it compiled properly, after you installed PBO manager double click the pbo to open it with it.

Then click the 'Gear' icon, and you should see the z/prefix entry there (kinda like regedit in windows, a value and a string)

IF you dont see the /z/prefix there then 100% your dayz_server.pbo is not properly compiled...probably cause you are missing a file.

download the epoch server files and open dayz_server.pbo with PBO manager...press the Gear icon and take a note at the values there.

Do the same for your pbo....if they are not the same, try adding them yourself.

But to tell you the truth if your prefix file is busted....then maybe some file there besides that is busted as well.

Test test test :)

I was getting this last night, and  I think it was because I was using the wrong option in the context menu. the "create PBO" didn't work but there was another option further down, specific to PBO manager that would/did work.  I can check when I get home.
