HFPatzi
Hi, running Arma as follows: CPU: AMD FX-8350 8 x 4GHz RAM: 16GB GPU: NVIDIA GTX 770 Arma is installed on my SSD (if that matters somehow). I'm playing on GPDE02 with 50 players max and i always have 40-60 FPS on somewhat low/mid settings. And I'm quite happy with that. I Never experienced some drastic frame drops. Even on a 80 players server i have constant FPS. View distance is a real frame killer, so i keep mine somewhere around that point, where no changes happen on the horizon (usually around the middle of the view distance slider). What are your Startup params? Cheers
Daniel
My start param : -mod=@Epoch -nosplash -maxMem=8192 -maxVRAM=2047 -world=empty -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 My Rig : CPU : AMD Phenom Black Edition II x4 955 3.2 GHz GPU : EVGA Geforce GTX 470 Superclocked+ HDD : Samsung EVO 250 GB SSD RAM : Corsair Vengance 8 GB 1866 MHz OS: Win 7 Profesional 64 Bit# Mousepad: my desk skill : my brain result in very high lol when i compare my rig to SmokeMcPot.....same FPS like he with my 4 year old Rig :D any ideas to upgrade my parameters ? and fuck no, don´t tell me: upgrade your Rig.... btw, can anyone explain me what this exThreads is for ? i used a Parameter generator..... thx in advance :)

I read that you shouldnt go over 2048 mb ram. Arma doesnt take more. Of course i hit in my 16gb. After that i had like stuttering 30 frames. I turned it back to 2048 and it went well again. :P
Daniel
i use those launch parameter since Arma2 OA... always everything worked fine. Never regoniced stuttering frames. so u cant tell me what exThreads is? Do you have launch para ?
HFPatzi
found this one: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma2:_Startup_Parameters#exThreads Its for arma 2 though, but i think the principle is the same.
Axle
I run with no problems and all I use is -malloc=system -noplash -nopause
Richie
All them using Nvidia cards, try using GeForce Experience ArmA 2/OA & 3 are supported games, It will optimize the settings and do wonders for your FPS :) you can revert back with 1 click as well, It also does other cool shit like record game footage and stream ... HFPatzi
Having no problems with this launch params: -nosplash -world=empty -skipIntro -enableHT and settings, mentioned some posts earlier.
reen624
My parameters: -enableHT -maxMem=2048 -maxVram=4096 -noBenchmark -noLogs -noPause -noSplash -world=empty Enable HT stands for hyperthreading. If activated dont use max.cpu.cores!! I guess ex threads is the amount of virtual cores you got. CPU count 4. 7 virtual cores. Just remove those options if u have no idea what your cpu actually does. Daniel
I will try the hyperthreding parameter. The mod´s should make this post to a sticky or we should create a tweak guide thread with useful and helpful parameter.
koriaba
I run with no problems and all I use is -malloc=system -noplash -nopause Axle, please answer my letter in PM. I am sorry that I write here ...
HFPatzi
I will try the hyperthreding parameter. The mod´s should make this post to a sticky or we should create a tweak guide thread with useful and helpful parameter. What you could try too is to reduce/deactivate post fx. If I'm not mistaken, that helped me to get some extra fps. But not sure on this one.
Nasdero
https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3_Startup_Parameters -nosplash Disables splash screens. -world=empty For faster game loading (no default world loaded and world intro in the main menu, only at game start, disabled): -world=empty. -skipIntro Disables world intros in the main menu permanently. -maxMem=<number> 256 is hard-coded minimum (anything lower falls backs to 256). 2047 is hard-coded maximum (anything higher falls back to 2047). -cpuCount=<number> Change to a number less or equal than numbers of available cores. This will override auto detection (which equate to native cores). https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma3:_Startup_Parameters#cpuCount -exThreads=<number> Change to a number 0,1,3,5,7. This will override auto detection (which use 3 for dualcore and 7 for quadcore). -noLogs Be aware this means none errors saved to RPT file (report log). Yet in case of crash the fault address block info is saved. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?159155-quot-nologs-quot-may-improve-performance-no-stuttering-read-details -enableHT Enables the use of hyper-threading CPU cores which might slightly improve performance in certain scenarios. Note that this option may be overriden by -cpuCount so if you want to use maximum number of CPU cores use -enableHT without -cpuCount. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?152866-General-Discussion-(dev-branch)&p=2693893&viewfull=1#post2693893 ================================================ I would use on none HT CPUs with 4 cores: -nosplash -world=empty -skipIntro -maxMem=2047 -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 -noLogs ================================================ I would use on HT CPUs: -nosplash -world=empty -skipIntro -maxMem=2047 -exThreads=7 -noLogs -enableHT ================================================
