Psyc
I have a important question to you. Would you please allow the JSRS2 soundmod in epoch? This soundmod is awesome and i would appreciate to use it. Much better and more real sounds for ArmA 3! Thx Psyc DarthBrady
Tobias Solem
In 0.5 when the server-side stuff is released for everyone, this will be a possibility.Personally I would not implement it for two reasons:+ The more additional code there is on top of A3, the worse the performace+ JSRS2 isn't just JSRS2, it's CBA2 as well, both add layers of code, and CBA has a history of poor optimization
RIE_JACKTE(new)
jsrs was not developed with multi player in mind. EDIT: i forgot not and & spelling

As they don't want to have to provide support when somebody breaks something by installing and outside addon. When server files are release to the public then server owners will be able to install whatever they want. Psyc

Personally I don't think that's worth it, in spite of the extra immersion. Daniel and Flosstradamus

Tobias Solem
that not the truth i play on our server with 60 fps and can't see any drops!Good for you.My experiences are to the contrary.Enabling CBA and JSRS on an ARMA-server and comparing clientside performance resulted in between 5-10 less FPS, gradually dropping the longer and the more shots were fired (multiple sound effects).JSRS2.2 is also 1.1GB (even larger than entire Epoch) naturally playing a whole bunch of much larger sound clips has an impact on performance, then add more spaghetti code and YES it will make an impact. Its not worth installing the sound mods as it really decreases performance.

Darth_Rogue
Why don't we just say that those who want to run it can and those who don't, don't have to. Mmmkay? Psyc
Flosstradamus
it doesn't decrease performance^^ maybe your pc is bad fisk, i always playing with 60 fps or more You have 2 server owners telling you that it decreases performance. I'm sure others can chime in and tell you the same. I am also sure that our hardware on both of me and fisk's machine still would have trouble running the sound mod plus all the scripts and objects that epoch comes with. If you played on a dead server then no wonder you had no issues with the sound mod PryMary
whiskeyfive
This has already been stated multiple times that they wont be adding these mods. They will be creating thier own. Same goes for the weapon rest mod.

Btw there are a lot things to pay for in Real life so not everybody got a High End PC to play lagfree or with 60 fps and more! I personaly play Arma 3 and Epoch with about 30 fps ( 30 is the highest :(( ) I got a mid class PC spec: EVGA GTX 470 superclocked+ AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.20 GHz 8 GB Corsair Vengance Gaming and a 250 GB Samsung EVO SSD and i would be glad if there is a option to enable more realistic sounds bot only WITHOUT perfomance drops! As Darth_Rogue said, if you want to use, use it, if dont, dont use it ;) Keep calm Best regards, Daniel
