DayZ Launcher: Wrong Epoch version

Gamers Crowd

Recommended Posts

I'm having a strange problem.

I really like DayZ Launcher. It's great.

However, I run an Overpoch Chernarus server and it's showing versions Overwatch 0.2.5 and Epoch 1.0.5

That's not the version of Epoch Server i'm running, it's 1.0.5.1

The ONLY way to join my server through Launcher is download Epoch, Launcher will name the folder @DayZ_Epoch1051....rename it to @DayZ_Epoch105 and the server will allow you to connect.

I've Googled, I've reexamined my server files. I have no idea what else to do.

Has this happened to anyone?

Show us your:

config.cfg

mission.sqm

server .bat / server launcher

your PBO's (server AND mission)

I'll give everything a check

DZC reads it as 1.0.5.1 (but i think that is because of the title?)

Most servers I come across DayZ Launcher tries saying that they're running 1.0.5 when they're, for a fact, running 1.0.5.1.  Servers like CCG and Firecock seem to launch fine, but it has an issue with most servers for some reason.  They even have 1.0.5.1 in the description, so I don't know what its problem is.  I don't know how he has DayZ Launcher pulling server info but it's obviously not doing it the way DayZ Commander does it.  I've already posted about it on Maca's forum, not sure if anyone ever got back to me about it.  Can't believe there haven't been thousands of people whining about it by now lol.

http://epochservers.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=259&sid=d6e8a2716367eaf8fab6c4fa2d698ed7&start=10 <-- yep, no dice, posted that on the 11th.. granted didn't start a new thread, meh.

I've given up on launchers, I just added everything under expansions in the arma menu and remote in to the server I want.  I've been using Gametracker if I'm looking for a new server or need to pull an IP:port for a server.

If you've never messed with expansions, you have to disable everything you can first, hit OK and it will restart game, then go back to expansions and enable what you want to use, restart the game, then when you get to the menu it should show the expansions you have loaded on the top right of the screen.  Then just go to multiplayer, hit the remote button on bottom right, just paste or type your IP and port in(in their respective places of course).

Oh, and either you have to launch Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead through Steam or by the "steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\ArmA2OA_BE.exe" executable.

You'd probably have more luck on the Dayz Launcher forums. I don't like it for the fact that it does that whole thing with the version number. It confuses people.

Yeah, I get why he did it(or at least I think I do), he did it so you can have multiple versions and choose which one to launch.  However, I think it would be easier to only add version numbers to the directory names of the ones preceding the current/updated version.  For instance, 1.0.5.1 = @DayZ_Epoch, 1.0.5 = @DayZ_Epoch105, etc.  I'm not sure how that would work once there's a new patch.. but yeah.

Edit:  Prompt new patch update > Ask if you would like to back up current patch > If yes, add patch number to directory name > Download new patch and name it @DayZ_Epoch.  Listen to me, I know what I'm talking about.  Warez Maca, get him in here!
