Hi guys, hi dev, i'm admin on a large scale dayz epoch servr and i'd like to suggest u a feature.

 

I noticed, and a lot of friend too, a realy realy low fps on the actual version of dayz. We've tested out Dayzero and they have this feature: More dispersed and lower grass clutters.

 

This is awsome, grass looks better, smaller, more dense despite the fact that there is less clutters. On Low and Mid rig, it give between 5 to 15 fps improvement, thx to crappy arma engine that bottleneck even mid rig cpu.

 

I'd like you guys to test it and try to add it on epoch, i'm sure all the players will be thanksfull and it's realy easy to add serverside.

Sorry to sound a bit thick here.... but can you just lower the settings in your advanced graphic settings?

  Yes but the effect is different.  It removes more foliage in general but doesn't reduce FPS issues as much as the above suggestion.

Indeed, I've checked FPS running on low everything and high everything and there is no change in playable FPS. If the usual staple of just looking at the ground so it only renders what is at your feet doesn't change anything.

Probably going to make hiding in grass for safety from Zombies or indeed players a little bit of a struggle.

It would be a nice addition, especially if you could turn it on/off. Would help me alot because i get average 30fps in fresh servers at my base location far away.
If i enter electro i get around 10-15 fps.

Still, the reason for electro is the massive cargo ship causing lag, but the grass would help on other areas, but should be able to turn on/off for server owners.
