Mind sharing a screen or 2 with those villages with new houses if you don't mind. please? I'd like to see that.

edit: oh wait, they are in that video, derp....

hop on twitch, many people are streaming Tanoa that's how I learned about it myself. Got not time to download a dev branch, it will take forever anyway :D

  2. I have similar issue with bar freezing half inch from end but then after 25 seconds or so I manage to join a server. Have you tried waiting longer? I am pretty sure in previous patches I could join much faster than now.

Not alone i have been unable to join stable branch Epoch servers since 1.60 update have ticket in with BI.

I can join Experimental Epoch servers without issue. I can join other modded MP servers, but oddly not Wasteland servers where i have same issue.

BI's advice so far was to re install arma 3, then verify my cache, then join a vanilla unmodded server, eg KOTH. I have done this 4 times since 1.60 launched and still cannot join Epoch servers, not even the one i meant to be admin on! Yes i have completely wiped computer of steam workshop version of Epoch and installed from Epochmod.com pages instead with no difference. I have also started with complete new profiles and cleaned out mpmissionscache, still cannot join Epoch servers, any epoch servers currently running on stable 0.3.8.

that's weird. Does it give any errors? I mean how the whole process goes when you try to join?

  4. So well when I first saw it, I was not impressed, but then noticed that deep in the island the nature is very awesome so kinda now on a fence between "meh" and "wow looks cool" opinions.  What interests me the most is how many new buildings there are. I heard a comment that for now all buildings are not enterable and that should change, since it is one of the reasons what makes Arma cool. Another thing what interests me is will it be possible to play Vanilla Epoch, but from streams yesterday I saw decent amount of buildings in cities so I predict it is gonna look while not as populated as Altis, but have enough material for looting like Chernarus for instance.

Haven't seen any deep jungles on streams, but then again, I was too tired to watch longer..

P.S. towns look really great, I am surprised on this one. I expected poor villages like on Stratis heh.

  5. I play on Kongari Bacon Japanese server which has a handful of mods/addons, such as 6 missions, loot spawn system, intro music, halo spawn and colour correction.

What's strange was that it only affected tipi kits. If "frequency unstable" meant what I think it meant, then I shouldn't be able to place anything else either, correct? I tried to build stairs, and I was allowed to do so.

Haven't noticed any wobble of parts or something similar to indicate that object isn't properly simulated. Thing with tipi kits is that they are always physical once you press build so nothing can be simulated unless I am misunderstanding how building works in Epoch. Also I waited proper amount of time and previously haven't been building anything else.

  6. oh there are few similar instances of bugs/weird happening with holstering or picking up something. But I suspect again, that some of them are due to Bugemia being Bugemia. For instance, have you noticed, that when sprinting and pressing B to pick up rangefinder/binoculars character goes prone, starts sliding, picks up binos/rangefinder and then stands up and continues sprinting with rangefinder in hands? And it is all in one weird animation :D pretty funny

  7. what? How? Aren't parts setting in once the timer runs out? So one of my tipi kits just disappeared so I managed to build another one. Now need more pelts to try to finish the job and test if it is due to the limit of tipi kits one base can have.  It wasn't happening with any other building part, all settled just fine.

  8. So new notification, haven't found anything on topic in this forum or changelog.

Basically, I want to build a tipi kit in my base and it says "frequency unstable" and I couldn't do it. I thought maybe I reached jammer limit, but nope, still got 30 free slots or so. Maybe I got too many safes? Had 5, removed one, still says frequency unstable when try to build a tipi kit. I already have 7 tipi kits, so maybe there is a limit now on how many you can have? Anyone knows?

  9. played yesterday a bit on not very vanilla server. Haven't noticed any issues. But the Arma 3 update is pretty decent, I like new colours, more cinematic but since I played on a server which already has custom colour correction mod, so can not say it with 100 percent certainty. Still though, I like that now black is BLACK (not grey like before, just look at Orca sexy motherfucker) and white is really white. Also blue colour looks nice now. But again, need to test it on vanilla no modded server too.  Limping animation with broken leg - FINALLY after 10 years Bugemia got their shit together. Obviously they took their time to deliver us this nice limping animation which I honsetly like very much. Not perfect, but way better than stupid slow walk. They need more wounded animations. But I guess it will take another 10 years... by that time DayZ will go into beta phase.

  10. Found a bug in 3.8 patch. I have a high base, one workbench is on first floor or on the ground and second workbench is directly above it 10 meters high (I think height doesn't matter). So if I craft something using second workbench which is higher (by standing close to it), an item is put on the first workbench which is bellow (on the ground). So you have to go down to retrieve the crafted item. At first I thought items disappeared, heh.

There are also some new settings incoming that allow you to specify how many troops are spawned and their skills.

12 people squad would be awesome! :D though first one has to fix a "bug" with reloging, where you relog and AI is gone. Maybe re-enable AI next time you log in? Or is it not solvable issue? I tend to abuse it a lot :/

    Relog fix broken leg

relog now has the opposite effect. If you get to certain damage point but still able to run or sprint just fine (yet sometimes a bit slower) after relog you get broken legs and can only slowly walk. Been there many times.

Brought back this thread because want to urge developers to create something of an improvised bandage or splint in upcoming patches (sticks already are in game, could be 2 sticks = splint). Because I frequently get broken legs now (like many others too) and since looting now is nerfed a lot, found only one medkit over 10 hours of playtime, splint would sort of solve this issue of Arma 3 new damage system (you hit a grass with a car - get broken legs or die).

Game certainly needs more crafting as it is, in my opinion, most interesting feature of the mod (this includes building bases too).

  13. So I stopped playing A3 for couple of months, When came back to Epoch mod noticed instantly that terrain graphics keep flickering (for the lack of better word). Like quickly changing textures for a split of second and it is persistent. What is weirder is that Epoch metal garage gates from distance appear sort of having  grey-ish texture. At first I even thought it was some new Epoch building material but when got closer realized it was just ordinary metal gates.

Have anyone else experienced something like this? I could swear those glitches wasn't happening in previous Epoch patch and previous Arma 3 patch. Do not know what's causing this. Maybe my video card is dying or something with PSU (since I can turn on my PC only from 20th try lol)

  14. oh I noticed that now also not all furniture spawns in certain buildings, for instance, in hospital of Kavala, only blue cabinet spawned for me. Before it was whole hallway full of Epoch furniture, including medkit cabinets etc. Maybe it is for the better, though in my opinion the chance of spawning more furniture is too low currently.

Also wanted to ask how far this 180 degree arc extends? I hope it is not 1000 meters or something? Some towns are pretty big and if you enter at the center and loot starts spawning all around in farthermost (hope it's correct word) buildings it's not much fun running back and forth to check them out everytime. I need to do more testing with smaller towns though when I tried looting Frini, got only one house with loot with over 10 minutes of running back and forth constantly.

By the way, useless protip - if you have broken legs and slowly walk through town loot spawns more frequently :D I know it's an illusion since you spend more time getting from one place to another, but still. I now constantly have broken legs, thanks to Arma 3 damage system.

  15. ok now after more in depth "testing" as I call it, I see that this loot spawning is not as bad  as I thought in a first place (still I do not like it). However, looting now is definitely harder and consumes more time. The bright side, it seems that high grade rifles now spawn less and even looting military buildings will give you no loot this way (because of how script works, I suppose) which means less navids for everyone. It's good, in my opinion.

On the unrelated note, I do not remember the times I died so much in Epoch than yesterday. I kept dying and dying like every 20 minutes from all kinds of stupid stuff but usually sappers. They became good or I became bad player :D Or maybe I was just so unlucky. And I can't even find a damn hatchet to start cutting trees!!!! So carrying all my loot on myself like a moron since do not use traders to buy stuff (personal challenge to make game harder). Epoch becomes more and more hardcore for lonewolfs :)

g an eye out for infected or AI. They certainly don't think of revisiting a building that they have already searched. For lone players, and a lot of new players come on board by themselves and then find a group to join, I would suggest that it's a bit disheartening not to find loot.

I'd thought when one player said that they'd swept from one side of Pyrgos to the other and not found loot that they'd simply been unlucky or not visited that many buildings - it's problematic to tell them that they have to backtrack in order to find the loot they would have found in previous versions IMHO.

yeah backtracking sucks. But even before this broken patch loot spawned around me, just that IT SPAWNED, now it does not. Over half an hour - 1 building in whole big town. It is slower definitely. I used to backtrack, but now you not only have to backtrack, you have to backtrack 360 degrees. Where is fun in that? Going through town then going back and choosing another line then going again and again until you have been in every part of town for loot to spawn. I admit, I do not quite understand the current script but I do not care. Simply, playing alone is impossible.

I guess mine is one of those "4 or 5". I've hardly made any changes except increasing the loot chances and adding buildings that were missing.

The default settings are not broken just because they aren't what someone likes. That's why you are able to configure settings. If I didn't like my server to start during the day time, I wouldn't say the default settings are broken just because by default the server starts during the day.

This falls more into the suggestions category.

to me it seems more like a downgrade of Epoch than a "useful feature" server admins can change at whim. It is no different than having something and then disabling it (because current "Default" loot chances hardly differ from disabled loot at all). Since the beginning of me playing Epoch loot spawning only improved patch by patch. It was really bad before, like I said, before 2.5.2 patch, but then improved and it showed a big promise that finally you don't have to wait 2 hours in town for loot to spawn, it was almost instant. Now it is worse. It is absolutely unreasonable change in game mechanics (or whatever it's called) and absolutely destroys any kind of interest to loot anymore. It was hard even for me, who spent thousands and thousands of hours in Epoch.

So I disagree with the comparison of day/night cycle as they are not essential to the mod itself. Looting in my opinion is one of the core feature. Make it harder and mod becomes broken and unplayable. It was same with DayZ I remember very well where at some Bugemia patch loot stopped spawning at all or spawned incorrectly (stuff spawned in huge amounts or none at all), and I believe it is not fully fixed even currently. And many players were pissed though hardcore DayZ fanboys ignored it and kept playing this broken forever alpha game. To me it was last straw because they tried to fix what was never broken and made it even worse.

Not saying Epoch is going into similar directions, just that this patch sucks and not possible to enjoy and test the mod anymore.
