DrScandalous
So if a drone calls in for assistance and the AI spawn and THEN you kill the drone... do the AI despawn? Or do they persist? What happens to them if you leave the area and they aren't tracking/following you?
horbin
The AI will persist for a short time. I recall seeing a timer in the code, that if after a certain period of time they did not detect any players they would despawn. My experience has been the same. I have had AI spawn, avoided them for a while, then they simply vanish (maybe like 5 minutes)....
Nic
If they AI spawn, killing the drone does not make them despawn. As horbin said, the AI will stay for a short while before despawning unless you kill them.
BLTZ71
How do you adjust skill of ai, or is it not possible.
Nic
I don't believe you can adjust it easily. Right now the AI have a skill of 1, which is the most difficult setting.
Nails
Not sure how long before they despawn. I've had a death by AI and ran back after long enough for my body to disappear (which I admit I do no know how long that takes) and the AI were still there to shoot at me again. Slapnutts McGee
I've had them stick around for as long as a half hour after killing me. Not sure if it's a server dependent setting though.
nedfox
You can set AI difficulties in the server profile, but I think it's overridden by Epoch code.
TheVampire
In the FSM for the AI, if there isn't a player within 250m and they can't find it again, they should find a house to enter, and upon entering will wait 240seconds before despawning. BLTZ71
Can you turn them off ?
Face
Anyone know if you can actually evade the UAV (without logging off) before it has spawned any AI? Personally, I've never been able to lose the UAV (or the dogs, but that's another matter) so if I'm a fresh spawn I'm completely boned unless I manage to quickly find a gun. Not complaining here, just wondering if I should bother trying to evade or simply bend over if I'm unarmed.

Has to have been 480seconds since it last seen a player, and the target player has to be 800m+ away. Then it targets a new player on the map. It doesn't actually despawn unless it gets too low on gas, or gets shot.

The 800m distance is strange because it's effectively unlimited chasing distance if the player doesn't have a vehicle handy.
