0 Ephox
It is a 10 second timer, it does not show so tell them to wait 10 seconds at the greyed out abort timer and it will be white and clickable.
0 vbawol
A countdown will be visible on the abort button next patch.

0 ekroemer
The countdown will be nice. However, I hope that it will work, because many of our users and I myself have experienced delays of 2 minutes and more (more being difficult to quantify because patience runs out and Arma is killed/restarted), so I fear, there's more to it. 0 vbawol
ekroemer, it works fine. If a player has a delay of 2 minutes I think that maybe indicative of another issue. There should be no reason a player cannot count down from 10 without it taking much more than 10 seconds. I would tend to say it might be caused by too many threads and a low spec PC and the player is always lagging behind. Extra mods added on top of epoch will make this scenario even worse. 0 ekroemer
I have experienced this issue myself and I have a rather high end PC and don't see any more lagging during normal play then others do (thus host sided network/db delays). I guess that leaves mod load and hoster connection issues? What are the technicals here? The normal abort countdown works just fine, how is the after-death countdown organized? I would have expected every countdown to depend on the local client's clock but at least for the death abort that seems to be not the case. Could our problems be correlated with the 'network message pending' issue?
0 vbawol
The countdown before and after death is the same, the only difference is that you do not see it after your dead due to the screen blackout. If you can reproduce the problem please let me know.
0 Uebermorgen
Seriously I hate the timer. Whats the purpose?
0 1R0NS1DE
Seriously I hate the timer. Whats the purpose? If someone is alive it is to try and stop people combat logging, and when they have died it is to try and stop bodies from vanishing because people log out to quickly after death
