    Dog is currently a little less aggressive, I couldn't get the player damage working. Sounds are local, I guess as not using pubvar (both to be updated)
    Features:
    Track / Wander - New spawn will track the player, keeping a distance, barking and wandering randomly.
    Hide (Not fully tested) - Dogs don't like vehicles.
    Look At - Dog will edge towards a crouched player whining (dog cry) randomly.
    See / Eat Food - Dog will eat food that it likes if on the floor.
    Taming - Once a dog eats food you have tamed it.
    Follow - Dog will follow his master (player who tamed it).
    Play / Kill Prey - Dog will play with animals (rabbit, chicken, snake currently) it will then kill them and create a weaponholder with the normal outcome from killing an animal. eg. Rabbit = carcass and pelt
    Mourn - Dog will sit at the site of it's dead master crying.
    Dispose - Dog will be disposed once player is out of range (500m)
    Alert - Dog may bark and point towards other players if in the vicinity.
    Dog Killer - If you kill a dog you are marked and dogs will always go into attack mode. Small chance of forgiveness and is possible to break the cycle with taming attempts.
    Needs work: The weapon holder is invisible unless you are in range and crouching, It is currently just similar to a Ground Weapon Holder so items move with the dog along the floor when you are in range (3m).
    Potential for the dog to become a mobile backpack, other players may be able to 'steal' your dog by taming him.

    I agree, having 10 or 20 active testers who are actively looking for bugs and not just interested in playing is more beneficial then 200 players who just rage to their friends when they have a bug that "Ruins" their gaming experience, or who finds and exploit and decides to utilize it to benefit themselves rather then report it.
     
    Even though I would love to get my hands on the game to help test I am happy that The Epoch team has made the right decision to focus on getting manageability and quality in there testing team. (Just fingers crossed open alpha or beta happens soon)

    was reading that standalone is changing engine that will use DX11 (finally) named "Infusion" and noticed an interesting suggestion: 
    All houses are open in Dayz, which is kind of unrealistic and to be honest, adding some doors shouldn't be hard. Afaik 1.0.5 will bring us more open houses and a code from CFG modular building could be reused to add doors to them dynamically at random (some locked, some not) spawned upon server start. The only way to open them could be shooting a lock (named selection on firegeo LOD?) or with crowbar (more quiet).

    I think you're right because I remember reading previous debates regarding God Zones and the Devs didn't appear to like them. They make perfect sense to me but that's another debate.
     
     
    Nevertheless, I can't wait for it to be released, hopefully with something to replace the zombie,s as a game without an adversary would make servers with low numbers boring and defunct. For me there has to be something that attacks the survivors, whether that's wild animals, aliens, Russian mutant soldiers or flying piranha fish I couldn't care less, but it has to move from zombies as that wanker Rocket seems to think he owns the intellectual rights to anything featuring a zombie. I wouldn't mind but he ripped off the idea from The Walking Dead in the first place.

    I always wondering why in Epoch we can't use a empty bottle of Jack, a canvas and a full jerrican to craft a sweet and nice Molotov Cocktail...
    And what about static weaponery? would be nice to fix a M240 to a sand bag nest...
    Anyway, I really wish Epoch mod on Arma3, that would be a great support!

    Arma 3 Epoch Mod will be a total conversion mod coded from the ground up, and no longer based on DayZ. Many of the key ideas from DayZ Epoch will play a major role in Epoch Mod however everything else will change!
     
    More will be announced early this year.

    I dont know what world you live in, but if the Zombie apocalypse happened for real, all the military hardware that exists today would not vanish.

    Epoch has all that it has because they recognize that those things do exist. Also, Epoch is beyond survival of the initial outbreak. Epoch takes place when the survivors are rebuilding society. if you want less vehicles and weapons, go play vanilla dayz.
