  1. I was asked to post this in the feedback section ....

     

    My question is can this be made to a server side option as I have asked the admins of the server and they are all of the same mindset , we should be able to build anywhere we choose but currently a magical partition blocks access to building within these areas.

     

    I would like to suggest making this a server side option or removing it completely as there is no bonus for the team in blocking off an area and defending it to the best of their abilities since the new update wont allow loot to spawn within the 300m radius.

  2. so I wanted to ask if the settings in the mod can be server side or made server side , as currently there are a lot of places around altis where you are not allowed to build I would like to suggest that you make this a server changeable setting or remove it completely.

     

    my reasons for this are that if my crew wish to block off an area and defend it then we should only be limited by our ability not by some magical partition that serves no purpose , since the new update will not allow loot to spawn within 300m of a jammer ten I don't see a problem with cutting access to a loot area by placing a jammer there.

    The point is simple: physical objects such as brains, bodies, or what have you, cannot possess the property of emotional states such as being happy, sad, angry, being in pain, and all the rest.

    In other words, if dogs are just physical things, they cannot possess emotional states and are not individuals (I know this is sophisticated stuff for someone on your level, but try to read into the words, that might help you).

  4. recently our guys have been lucky enough to find a lockbox , however we were able to access it last night (22/11/2014). after some looting we went back to drop some more stuff into storage but now its not accessible , even the guy who placed it has no access. it shows unlock and pack but does nothing when choosing unlock , its in a well hidden location so its very doubtfull that someone destroyed our box and replaced it with there own.

     

    any info on how to fix or are we screwed out of a loxbox and all the materials inside?.

  5. I was thinking that if the walls of buildings were thicker then it would help with glitching in? Wouldnt it? . Isnt this how cinder walls are harder to glitch through than the thinner metal ones?.

    Anyone with more experience care to chip in as im new to the whole epoch scene and building in arma.

    what about a collision detection script on base walls where if someone glitches into that area they are killed and reported to an admin where they can explain themselves. Maybe even attach it to the jammer where it becomes a 30m area with glitch detection? , would this negatively impact performance?.

Its a pretty decent sim once you get the hang of collector control , what alot of guys are having ussues with is when they try to use the sane system as before which results in a fiery ball of death (myself included). If you hold in z you will see the power bar (2nd from right) drop , you must gauge this so as not to take away too much power , above this is where it will indicate how many metres per second you are ascending/descending.

    for optimum results bind the analogue control to a joystick rather than a keypress as its much more responsive and has the added advantage of being able to set a certain value quickly.

    practicing in the editor is easy , theres an option which allows you to turn the advanced flight model on/off.

  7. Practiced a bit today with the editor after killing myself and the guys last night :)

    Once you get the hang of collector control its fairly straightforward to get the basics , mastering them will take a bit more time. Which I have to say I like , personally id like it kept on and not dumbed down to the old flight model. Theres a steep learning curve to the heli and it should be that way , simulator is a good example rather than the arcade style we had before.

    finally a use for my analogue throttle control on joystick , I find you really need the sensitivity and quick response of the analogue over a keystroke/button press.

    I know some wont like that opinion but personally I prefer it , add wind , humidity and turbulence an you got my vote for president!!.

  8. What you are, right now, arguing against is not exploiting nor glitching but meta-gaming. I can recommend Altis Life. You'll love it! They don't allow metagaming either.

    Proper kid's fest that is, and I really hope that's not where this is headed.

    If you can find a way to secure your base in a way that you can't access it without glitching, then fucking gratz! Well fucking played, you deserve a medal.

    Those towers? If you're unable to put someone on that roof, then you should probably go practice in Editor for a bit. ;)

    Either way, what they did is to make a design which is - to some extent - flawless. In other words, they've done really well planning out their base, and you're then pissed that you can't find a way to get in there and steal their stuff.... boofuckinghoo kid. What are you gonna do when u meet a lockbox or maybe a future safe? Cry for those to be removed? Jesus christ, dude.

    This is the when epoch will lose the whole point of the mod , when everyone has bases that cant even be accessed legitimately the mod loses its essence and becomes wasteland with safe storage.

    Epoch for me is about base building and finding weaknesses in others bases and attacking , once everyone realises these faults in the mechanics then there will be no base that wont defy the laws of physics and no matter how many hours youve spent in editor will get you into them.

    you applaud and congratulate people for finding obvious flaws in the system yet fail to understand the implications of such actions , epoch will become pointless and boring with bases that have no fear of being broken into.

    Only through solid defence should bases be impervious , not through bad game mechanics..

  9. yeh the bases have an upkeep and it looks to be 1 paint can per wall but im not 100% sure if you have that radar jammer you can pay for the upkeep with money (im sure I read this on a post somewhere)

  10. Oh I aint in that group im just an admin. We have several large groups just the 24 man one is the biggest. What we see is the smaller groups will temporary join up to take down a large squad if need be. I have also seen a 2 man team take down a team of 15. It's not about numbers at all.

    as always its about luck and ability , the right time and place and yeh I agree that engagements can go your way. im just spitballing about seeing a 24 man team bearing down on me , a clean pair of shorts would be my first port of call.

  11. double click on jar at a water fountain or blue water barrel around , you'll see the craft menu and click craft. don't drink sea water man , itll kill ya lol (you cant in arma though so your lucky).

     

    you can usually find the water taps at larger churches around the cities , the blue barrels sometimes have sand in them so make sure its water.

  12. yeh arma has never been kind to the lonewolf , however loot being based on the size of the group is maybe a step too far against them. loot shouldn't be dependant on how many players are in the area but more akin to just plain old luck (or as close to that as can be).
