  1. does this work with overpoch and zuppa new coins 3.0 and trader 1.0 , snap Build, Plot for life .. etc .. and issues with any of these ??

    Thank You in advance :D

    I've never done Overpoch, so haven't tested. To be honest I stopped running a server period for now. However I see no reason why this wouldn't work, you don't need to alter or remove any other functionality to add this.

  2. I don't understand why you'd buy more keys if wrongfully banned before. If a company wrongfully bans me and doesn't attempt to correct the issue after I contact them, that company would never earn another dollar from me. It happened to me once with a game over 5 years ago, and I've stuck to it, that company is blacklisted.

  3. Get the BIS Tools from here:

    https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/BI_Tools_2.5

    They include TexView 2 which allows viewing of and conversion to .paa files.

    Are you familiar with blender?

    Arma Toolbox for Blender:

    http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=20519

    Arma2 Modding Toolbox for 3DSMax v1.1

    http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?82188-ArmA2-Modding-Toolbox-for-3ds-max-V1-1

    Some of these will get you started. :)

    Thanks, already had BIS Tools, didn't realize it had the TexView2, simple enough to work with and can import lots of file types which is handy. Will check out the 3ds max plugin over the next few days (moving in a few days so gonna be busy packing). If all goes well, I'll make a thread with some ideas and examples of work, and to collect ideas from everyone else.

  4. If anyone can find me some sort of tutorial to convert obj, fbx or some other known 3ds extension to p3d, as well as jpg, png or dds to paa (thinking those are the texture files), I'd be more then glad to make up a ton of ideas to present to the epoch team. Unfortunately that's the best I can offer though, don't really desire trying to figure out how to get oxygen to work, I'd rather stick with familiar software. I've done searches to try and find info to help me with this but I've had no luck, just keep ending up finding 3ds max tutorials which I don't need, or info on how to setup graphics settings for performance on arma 2. I'll do more searches at some point, my eyes just can't take the constant sifting through posts on forums and stuff, gives me headaches.

  5. I have my trader sqf filled with the following for lingor

    if (_worldName == "lingor") exitWith {["RaceTrack","RepairGuy","PlaneVendor","Wholesale","HighWeapons/ammo","Parts","Choppers","lowEndCars","LowEndWeapons","HighEndCars","MedicalandBags","Wholesaler","BagsNFood","Wholesalers","DirtTrackVendor","OffRoad4x4","BoatVendor","BoatVendor1","BoatVendor2","BagVendor1","BagVendor2","Doctor2","BanditTrader","HeroTrader"]};

    Does nothing as far as the ai camping the safezone and just shooting godmoded players endlessly:/ . .

    I have not changed anything inside the dynamic spawn manager however I am using a plotpole script I got from around here somewhere that teleports zeds away from plotpoles. I am having a lot of people complain about minding their own business inside their base and they see an AI inside the locked building shooting at them or killing them. How are they getting through walls? I just switched from sarge AI and they never had this problem, they just stand outside of player bases and never went inside. Thank you for the help BTW!!!

    Sorry for late reply, didn't notice you had replied.

    As Uro said in post above this, it only seems to effect dynamic ai. So if any static spawns are near the merchant areas, they'll still spawn and go after players. The files for Lingor seem to be done differently then with some other maps, I myself use Napf and a lot of the locations are defined in init/world_spawn_configs files and spawn_areas, though it doesn't seem to be such for lingor. My guess is it may be due to size of towns and such, dunno for sure. You'll probably need to define your own spawns within custom_spawns. That's my only thought on it all, sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

    As for keeping them from getting into bases, I have no idea how they get through walls, I've seen it happen on mine, but it only happened with me because I had no plot pole on my base, and a dynamic party came after me. Other then that my static spawns are setup to try and reduce these kind of issues unless someone builds directly in a city.

  6. I also beg to differ...

    2e012a53956576490c5a8b6adae1dffd.png

    Read that last bit, if anything my posting of the source and my analysis was positive.  I reported that no malicious code was found in my initial research as well as confirming that the code was not stolen or mis-attributed.  Yes I did bring up concerns about conflicts of interest and yes I did bring up licensing concerns but since this software is not commercial I see no reason why my posting of the source does not fall under fair use.

    Very good post, kudos.

  7. I'm not sure why you guys are bothering speaking about in game purchases and crap like that. Personally I don't care who breaks rules and sells crap on their server, I'm not buying, if others choose too, that's up to them. Now in regards to it being brought up about maca, once again, I don't care if he does or not, but I think the point others are trying to make in regards to it is... With this launcher being pushed, and him in full control of it, what happens if he encounters competition which starts drawing players away from his servers? Is it possible he'll be a dick and remove that server from the listings on the launcher he operates? Yes... Hopefully it wouldn't happen, but that's simply the major point I see trying to be made here, it's possible, which is resulting in a number of personal attacks based on speaking openly about the possibilities of things that could very well occur.

    You guys should stick to discussion on the launcher, and stop attacking one another.

  8. Just so you guys know, DotJosh has dayz.st's best interest in mind with DZC. So don't play that whole "Maca is a server hoster" bullcrap anymore :)

    It's a legitimate concern. Whether or not it is something that would happen is another story. Personally I'd like to assume that people would be above such pettiness, but nothing in life is set in stone. One must always consider the possibilities. That being said, I'll still have players from my server use the program if they wish, though I'll be using a batch file to connect myself.

  9. hambeast need to be banned for trying to steal other works...yet he is here...  Double standard on this forums.

    What exactly did he try to steal? I'm sorry I have to ask, but this thread has turned into accusation central, everyone just tearing at one another's throat's. Personally I think Hambeast did everyone a service by showing them anything he did here, people are always worried about security, and he provided some ease of mind. Whether or not people want to give into conspiracy theory with maca's loader is entirely based on themselves.

    This whole threads gone off topic, if you are not here to download and use the launcher simply walk away and stop complaining. You can always go make your own launcher or use some easy to maintain batch files B)

    People naturally give opinions on stuff, it's human nature. A program is no different then a server host, some people will like, some people won't and in the end, almost all people would like the insight and opinions of others when trying to decide what they should and should not use. Nothing in the world is exempt from critique, and those who do not wish to be critiqued should avoid providing any product/service that can be held subject to such. Sure things may have got a bit out of hand in this topic but still, it gives people insight, and it shouldn't be something to worry about if untrue or biased as anyone with a brain will investigate matters to formulate their own conclusion.

  10. I'd say just update, there is no saying DayZ Commander will, and no saying when our servers will just stop working since Gamespy can't get it's shit together apparently. If you have a player base, just inform them all what's going on and yah. See if they'll use DayZ Launcher or something to connect, if not try the batch file Buly released on the GTX forums, it works great, no need to run any program or search lobbies, just direct loading to your servers lobby.

    http://gtxgaming.co.uk/forum/forum/main-category/dayz-all-in-one/4886-join-server-via-batch-file

    If your players play other servers and are afraid updating for yours would prevent them from playing them, just have them create a clone directory for arma2 and a2oa, then go into dayz commander settings and override. Then they can play on 1.62 and 1.63 servers each loaded independently.

    As for me, I'm waiting on GTX to update mine, because it seems nobody bothers with 103718, I get no players, so nothing to worry about losing.

  11. I've heard vert hosting and vilayer are great. I've used vilayer before but their customer service is utter shit.

    What do you guys think I should choose? Vilayer or vert hosting?

    Out of those 2, based on feedback from admins, Vert is probably the better choice. Like MGT I'm with GTXGaming which hasn't given me much of a headache, have had a few minor issues which people should really be ready to expect anywhere. In the end every host is going to have happy and angry customers, some people will get better service then others (not based on favortism, just good or bad luck), and so on, so it comes down to making a choice and praying it works out for you. That being said, the only solid "good" choice is a dedi where you are in full control and could even host multiple servers off it depending on the machine.

  12. I am having a problem with DZAI and the AI getting into bases and killing players? Any idea how to stop this?

    Also having a lot of trouble keeping them out of safe zones. . .

    dynamicSpawn_manager.sqf is scripted to prevent the hunting parties from spawning when players are near plot poles, I know that much. In conjunction with this, you also have setup_trader_areas.sqf where you can list your trader locations for you map (only needs changing if you've customized them like me), and it will spawn plot poles (unseen as far as I know) that will prevent them from spawning when you're near them too. However if people build in locations where static AI spawn, not sure what can be done about that. I've done some modifying to spawn locations for the static ones to remove locations near fresh spawns, but that's about it. To find those locations, look into your init/world_spawn_configs files and spawn_areas.

  13. I'd avoid GTX. Halv purchased a server from them when shopping around, and it literally came with errors off the start. Arma 2 functions were missing. When he asked them about it, they denied there was any issue. He asked for an upgrade to a VPS so he could just install it all himself, and the VPS had stuff all over from the previous user. They had deleted a few folders and files, but the VPS wasn't clean. He had issues installing what he needed because some of it was already partially installed by the previous user.

    He ended up filing a dispute through Paypal because they still refused to acknowledge a problem. After fighting him tooth and nail over it, paypal chose their side, since the services were rendered as agreed, just not to the quality expected.

    When you purchase a server from them, the server is already paid for. They don't have their own servers, they rent them from different sources. If they sell you a package and you don't like it, they can't refund that money because they have already spent it in overhead renting these servers. They don't know what they are doing when it comes to Arma, and if your server has an issue, they cannot resolve it. They have to forward the issue to the server provider they are renting from, and relay the response back to you.

    And then on top of that, you have the whole DayZ Origins issue.....

    Well I'm thankful I didn't encounter any severe issues myself then. Only reason I went with them is cause I'm temporarily unemployed and can't really afford much, otherwise I'd be renting a dedi box. When i did initial searching for a host pretty much everyone who's name I saw come up had more hate then love, with the exception of Vert, I never even knew they existed until a few weeks ago. Thus I just went with the offer that seemed to present the most for the lowest cost and figured, if it goes to shit I'll just cancel out, $25 isn't something I'll lose sleep over. I'll stick it out with them now so long as nothing goes wrong until I either get a good player base and need to upgrade, or h1z1 rolls in and I decide to move on (if of course I have no players, I'd be a dick to just cancel a server people play on lol).

  14. If you're on a budget GTXGaming is decent. Also comes with free infiSTAR which is nice, though you can't access the files for infiSTAR for modification due to an agreement with infiSTAR (though there are a fair amount of modifiable features in TCAdmin for it). They're also working on adding 1 click mod installs for various scripts free of charge, personally doesn't interest me but might for some. Like Vilayer there are some file access limitations, however if you want to do something like say single currency which requires the use of edited dll files, you can speak with the staff, once they've cleared the file as safe, they'll install it on your server for you. That being said, I'm not gonna sit here and say they're the perfect host, I don't know other hosts to be honest, and I'm not gonna lie saying every waking moments has been heaven. I've experienced downtime about 4 times in a bit over 3 months, only once was it for a long duration (a few hours), the other times my tickets received 15-60 min response times and resolution. Ping is nice and low, players near the server have had as low as 10-20 ping, I myself receive 60-90 roughly, but I'm quite a distance from my server, it's in Dallas Texas USA and I'm in Ottawa Ontario Canada.

    Check out the various options listed, try and find servers hosted by others from those hosts for testing and come to a conclusion on what you feel fits your budget and needs.

  15. The thing is I've never had this happen before lol.

    Doesn't always apparently. Happened to a friend of mine, she went quite awhile without having a mic plugged in then just randomly one day she didn't respond to my direct chat and it turned into a google marathon to find the fix. Pretty much everything we found said it was because her mic was unplugged, but it sounded ridiculous to me for that to be the cause, however she went ahead and plugged one in and voila, problem solved. Still don't understand it, not sure why it doesn't effect everyone, or even always cause an issue, but at least the mic fixes it.

  16. Yah, you have to keep a close eye on a lot of these things when adding new stuff because the format from one script to another can change ever so slightly and you'll end up giving yourself a headache over the littlest things, lol. Anywho let me know if it worked, though I'm like 99% certain that is all you need to fix it.

  17. Not being able to see direct chat is usually because you don't have a mic plugged into your pc. Unusual bug but yah, if you don't have a working mic, just plug a headset or something into the mic slot, you won't be able to chat through it obviously, but it should correct the issue.

    I just noticed... You need to change up coordinates. Normally in other stuff they go x,y,z... in this you'll need to do it x,z,y.

    example, change

            class Item17
            {
                position[]={4882.9556, 10267.716, 0};

    to

            class Item17
            {
                position[]={4882.9556, 0, 10267.716};

    Here is a complete change for you... Just posted that as reference for future.

            class Item17
            {
                position[]={4882.9556, 0, 10267.716};
                name="NWBarracks";
                text="NW Barracks";
                type="mil_dot";
                colorName="ColorRed";
            };
            class Item18
            {
                position[]={10293.58, -1.5258789e-005, 2125.8064};
                name="ElectroBarracks";
                text="Electro Barracks";
                type="mil_dot";
                colorName="ColorRed";
            };
            class Item19
            {
                position[]={7032.8218, 3.8146973e-006, 2728.7549};
                name="ChernoBarracks";
                text="Cherno Barracks";
                type="mil_dot";
                colorName="ColorRed";
            };
            class Item20
            {
                position[]={9567.58, -0.0742493, 11311.5};
                name="NovyLugBarracks";
                text="Novy Lug Barracks";
                type="mil_dot";
                colorName="ColorRed";
            };

    Hope that helps. Just be sure Items is still 21.

  19. So Epoch would have to add the vehicles before we can use them? There's no way for a server owner to add them individually to their Overpoch servers otherwise?

    Anyone can add it to their own server I'm sure, the issue lies in the fact they're needed within the game client, so every player who would wish to join your server would need to add them, therefor it's easier having it all included in the initial install.

    That being said, if anyone knows where I can find tutorials for adding custom graphics, animations and so on to arma 2, I'd be glad to try and make numerous new game items to present to the epoch team. I'm pretty good with 3d modelling and textures. I've actually wanted to make new building supplies that blend a bit more with the game graphics, making it so player bases are less obvious at great distances.
