whats your hc launch command?
Hi, i have tried the following below:
-client -connect=127.0.0.1 -mod="@Epoch;" -nosound -client -connect=127.0.0.1 -mod="@Epoch;" -nosound -password=xxx -client -connect=127.0.0.1 -port=2312 -mod="@Epoch;" -nosound -client -connect=127.0.0.1 -port=2312 -mod="@Epoch;" -nosound -password=xxx -client -connect=37.187.136.241 -mod="@Epoch;" -nosound -client -connect=37.187.136.241 -mod="@Epoch;" -nosound -password=xxx -client -connect=37.187.136.241 -port=2312 -mod="@Epoch;" -nosound -client -connect=37.187.136.241 -port=2312 -mod="@Epoch;" -nosound -password=xxx
I have also tried setting the server.cfg to:
//FuMS HC localClient[]={127.0.0.1}; headlessClients[] = {"127.0.0.1","37.187.136.241"}; battleyeLicense=1;I am running 4 servers (one A2 epoch, 2 A3 Epoch, 1 A3 Wasteland) on my box but this is the only HC trying to connect to one A3 epoch server.

Hi, I'm having problems trying to get the HC to connect and show up in the lobby. I have logged in as admin and can see the headless client slot, but it says it's empty.
I have followed the install guide included in the github download and am running epoch 0301 and arma 1.42. I am using autoinit in my server launch parameters (not sure if this could cause a problem...?)
The server rpt shows all the messages of FuMS starting OK but the HC client rpt just seems to stop at the same place:

Hi, can anyone help with this please? HCServer.exe launches but HC doesn't connect to the server. I have tried using shortcuts, firedaemon and batch files to start and get the same result....or lack of result.

Yes, am using the new exe for 1.42 for both the server and the HC.

Hi, I'm having problems trying to get the HC to connect and show up in the lobby. I have logged in as admin and can see the headless client slot, but it says it's empty.
I have followed the install guide included in the github download and am running epoch 0301 and arma 1.42. I am using autoinit in my server launch parameters (not sure if this could cause a problem...?)
The server rpt shows all the messages of FuMS starting OK but the HC client rpt just seems to stop at the same place:

I have a weird problem since updating to 0301 on one of my 2 A3 epoch servers....I'm also running Windows server 2012 R2
Altis worked first time, no issues.
Chernarus, it seems like the mission doesn't load as 'Type' & 'mission' in the multiplayer lobby show blank and the server report just stops at this message even though the exe stays up:
5:22:43 NetServer::finishDestroyPlayer(1562534686): DESTROY immediately after CREATE, both cancelled
I have tried using a fresh db, reverting back to the vanilla chernarus mission file, unblocking the epoch.dll, diff merge checked between the installations of Altis and Chernarus and am now stumped...
Am I missing something glaringly obvious to anyone else?

the way servers are atm with server owners making there own custom mod pack that you can only get via there website/launchers. took me ages last night to find a good server that didnt need it's own unique mod pack :-(
It's playwithsix and the launchers that offer the most recent client files that are causing the problem. The A3Launcher is not offering it yet and I think that makes a lot of sense.
There are two ways to fix the problem of everyone getting lost in between versions and filling up every server's TS help channels and web support forums and that is to either:
- Release the server files to the community at the same time they are released to the official servers or,
- Not have the recent client files available on any launchers until the server files are in general release
It's one or the other or, we'll have this problem for 2-3 weeks every 2-3 months.

I agree, makes life very tough for us and the players. Lots of players play various different A3 mods and I don't think it helps build epoch players up in general when we seem to have this 2-3 week lull period of confusion where only a select few servers are running with the latest version offered by the launchers.
What would help is if the launchers didn't offer the latest client version until in general release. This way the more savvy gamers who know what they're doing with multiple mod version installs can still get the latest version from here and switch mod version depending on the target server.
Seems like every update is a 'start again' situation for us and the players.
I'm also not having a go, I know the mod is in alpha, just sharing the problem as we see it at GoG's World.

could you have potentially set up your server on the latest public server file release, 0252 and your client on the latest client release, 0301?
I think that would return that error....

You need to modify the distances in player build and player build controls sqf's. They should be in your actions folder in the mission file.
Read through those files and you'll work out which blocks to edit from the text descriptions. Change to 15 from 10 and it will work.

While certain parts of CBA work with Epoch there are other parts that don't. If you notice, the indoor and distance sound effects in JSRS don't function at all, which is due to the extended event handlers not working. Check your client RPT file and you will see errors relating to CBA calling certain BIS functions that Epoch also uses. AWOL is aware of the issue and has stated that they will make a strong effort to get Epoch and CBA playing nice together.
I'm getting indoor modified sound from JSRS, just tested it on my chernarus server (same ip port:2322). Check it out if you don't believe me.. ;)

CBA works fine on the current live version 0252... we're running it on our A3 Epoch Altis and Chernarus and A3 Wasteland servers

try updating c++ redistributable to 2013.Only issue I have had since the update is C++ crashes and I had none before the update

but do you still get the lock/unlock options on a car or trader menu at traders etc. All the other scrollwheel functions?

sounds like your selfactions file is messed up. I would check your install again. Have you noticed other functions that normally reside on the scrollwheel have also gone?
What errors in your server rpt?

Do you not still get an option on your mousewheel to unlock? You should still get that but, then not have to enter a code....

Hello i got the plot 4 life working but when placing a Vault i do not get the option to unlock it.
This is perfectly normal as your character is now tied to the safe. You can check if you want by asking someone else to interact with the safe. They will still get the code input dialogue.

Relaxing the filters is the easy part, the problem is then to get the hackers kicked that use createUnit to run their exploits.

P4L is fine, had it Live now for over 2 months without issue. These errors have been introduced from 2 of the new vector files.

_vector is in the private arrays at the top of both files. That's why I'm puzzled.
Everything is working fine, P4L 2.35, Precise & Vector just get these 2 errors spammed in the client rpt.

Horbin, massive thanks for the troubleshooting suggestion. I did as you said in 1) & 2) and it worked first time. So, I gradually built up the rest of the parameters until I found the problem. The problem was with the server.exe startup parameters including the external IP. I'm not sure why I had this set this way but, can only say that it must have come from one of the arma dedi install set up guides on armaholic or bistudios forums or the firedaemon forums. It doesn't need to be there as will default to server IP.
So, I'm surprised only I bumped into this unless this post does help others...
Someone wrote earlier about having problems using firedaemon. I'm now running it fine with both the server and HC in firedaemon. I just had to remove:
...from the server's parameters and all works ok.
On your point about headless client IP, it's all running on the same box. I only added the server's external address trying to fix the issue. I'm guessing I can now go back to your default instructions like below?:
