IT07
Hi everyone. The rolling changelog for 1.0.4. looks very interesting to me because of the 2 new maps being added. But, I am trying to get some more clarification on how that is going to work. I already read that if a server is running one of the 2 added maps, people will be able to join without installing something else. Please correct me if I am wrong though. What I would like to know: 1. How does the server-side installation work? Does it need to install for example: "Epoch Sauerland"? 2. What about the traders? I suppose someone from Epoch made traders for them? 3. What if people want to play this map, what do they have to do? just join? Will it autodetect the map the server is running? Thanks a lot in advance for taking the time to read this. Best regards, IT07.
Wesley
The way the other maps work(outside of chernarus) is that you must have the map downloaded in order to play it with Epoch. Also you must add a launch parameter to dayzcommander when joining the epoch servers. for instance: -mod=@taviana or -mod=@dayzsauerland
BetterDeadThanZed
No new launch parameters will be needed: Q: Will we need to download the two new maps for Epoch? A: Nope, they are included in the @DayZ Epoch download and require no other download or launch parameters.
Guest
jeah i think what they mean is how do you start that particular map, my guess is by using the right mission file :)
fr1nk
Maybe it's just changing the dayZ_instance in init.sqf?
IT07
Ok thanks for the confirmations. So far so good tbh :) Because before, the problem was that when using a different map, people need to change stuff. And peeps don't do that. They stop giving a care when the process of making it work takes longer than 0.2 seconds. So, GJ Epoch team!
