Base items disappearing.

ProfLangdon

Question

My friends and I have been building things like sunshades, fences, plot poles and light poles...along with buildings and the like. But we're having a problem with the fences, shades, etc. disappearing after a few days. I have not run any clean-up scripts or anything like that. Are these items supposed to go away after a few days or is it supposed to be permanent?

I mean, if they were designed to go away after a few days, what's the point of building them in the first place? It's just a waste of time. If there is a setting that can be changed to make those crafted items permanent, please someone help me figure out what needs to be done.

Thanks,

R. Langdon

Some should degrade with wear and tear like the cheap fencing but I agree that Light fixtures, and Strong Fencing should stay up?

Maybe give them each a gear option with the ability to check and have "Spare" Parts to "Re-fix" over time?

I.e Add spare light-bulbs to your poles so if one pops *Takes Damage* over time You have to use the other one.. Check it from time to time other wise lights out and eventually despawn.

Add metals crap to your fencing so that over time it will degrade *Like Damage on vehicle parts* and you need to repair them. Maybe they fall over after not being maintained and you have a week to upright them again or despawn.

Etc Etc.

Increase the meta game.. nothing is permanent..

And those of us that don't have access to HiveExt.ini (Dayz.st server) are just out of luck I guess?  It seems like sheds aren't included in the cleanup, maybe because they have gear inside, but camo nets/sandbag/fences vanish.

If you don't have access to your HiveExt.ini you could ask the Dayz.st guys to modify it for you?

I have asked this in the past when I was a customer and I am pretty sure I got a positive response from them. Although not sure if anything actually got action-ed.
