Richie
So what needs changed to either make a 2nd server or a test server ? What has to be unique ? Is it the InstanceID or the DB = Can it still use the same default port (6379) I would guess the passwords can be the same Cheers in advance :)
0 Uro
Change the instance ID if you want to have your DB's (character data) linked Change the DB= if you want seperate unlinked DB's, which I'd recommend for a test server. All the db's get created inside the same redis server regardless of instance / db. So you only need one redis running. :) Richie and Friendly
0 Richie
I thought they needed a seperate instance and DB but mine just isn't saving, my live server runs fine, my test server just won't save, each restart i'm a fresh spawn. Is it because the test server DB has a different password or does it need another instance of Redis running ? I'm puzzled Also i have the following errors, the path at the top is my live server, the errors i presume are caused on the test server.
0 Sporny
Can i run both on the same time? i dont think so.... because the second one cant use the steam query ports!?
0 RC_Robio
You can use the same redis server instance and same password and port. If you want seperate hive then change DB=0 to DB=1 and it will create a new database for your second server.

Simply change the port for your second server. If your first server is 2302, then second could be 2322.
