Ephox Posted September 23, 2013 Report Share Posted September 23, 2013 Hey, im looking for a good cheap server host with a good control panel/admin tool that works with epoch, i want full control over the files aswell. I was with HFB and bought a server friday, got the server up and running 20hrs later, around 5 hrs later on saturday i was booted out of control panel and couldn't log back in. Server was shutdown 5 minutes after. I have had no contact with them since purchase, they have only sent automated messages. I will try vert first, if it doesn't work out ill give vilyaer's 24slot clan feature a try Im talking to verthosting support and they say they will be adding a one click script install feature since i brought it up, so that makes me want to choose vert even more now. So im now looking for a better host. any ideas? im thinking verthosting.com They migrated all their servers at the weekend, they sent out one message a few days Friday then shut our one down on Friday without warning. I would say open a ticket but they are not responding to them. What's worse is after migration to the new server our Debug FPS has dropped so much I can't run Sarge AI anymore (5 FPS, 25-30 stock). Convenient they migrated my server 2 hours after I renewed, certainly wouldn't have if I'd known about the performance loss. Unfortunately I don't think there is anywhere cheaper since HFB are the only ones I know who offer a 15 slot offer. I rent a server and firstly we get kicked for every single things we did on it, walking = kick, firing same thing kick killing a zombie kick... So ya I know I about the script.txt to fix some stuff but I tell you guys we tried everythings and nothing was working. So we sent a ticket to the support... took 5 days to answer And their answer was simply.... We had 2 servers with them one for test and one for our players. The one for test was stuck on unknow for like 6 days till I asked a refund and requested a cancellation for both of my server. Their answer for my refund request. Hello The statement "HFBServers will not issue pro-rated refunds for cancellations received in the middle of a payment cycle or billing period" means any time between the first and last day, So if you submit a cancellation within 5 minutes of ordering or 28 days in you are in the "middle" of your billing. Just make sure you go with a windows box as Linux is a PITA, its a pain to get the server running and stuff like BEC is nigh on impossible. Got a response Monday morning, can't help as i am not the account holder, fair enough.. Same issue, locked out of control panel we spent some time trying to get in. I had a slight problem but that was my fault and they fixed it within 5 minutes of me setting up a ticket. unfortunately they are based in New Zealand. So i have to stay up late or wake up early to get fast response on support. HFB said they would reinstate my service, but they have only sent that message. My service has yet to be reinstated. So im now looking for a better host. any ideas? im thinking verthosting.com im running on HFB with no problems, my server was ordered and setup within 5 hours on the same day. i experienced zero script kicks with stock filters that came with the server. i have had my test server stuck on unknown status twice, but i opened a ticket and it was resolved within 3-6 hours. i dunno it seems some people have alot of problems and some dont. i personally like them cause their cheap and pretty decent hardware. i've got sarges ai + ai missions + with 35ish people on my debug fps is sitting in the 30ish range.
