BioHazard050
Popped into my head when I was foolin around in the editor. How bout make it so we can break down furniture from houses and reassemble it where we want? Make them act like the teepees and shelves, they wont spawn loot but store it. Thoughts? olliepack
Was literally just thinking about this!! EDIT: maybe make it so your vehicle needs to be within a certain distance to transport??
wingtip
hmmmm ill go even further on this idea train and offer this... to craft- 3xclothes (all 3 must be same class clothes) 3xlumber packs = chair (a new class of chair with custom texture and storage abilities say 4 or 5 item storage limit) 6xclothes (all 6 must be same class clothes) 6xlumber packs= sofa (a new class of sofa with custom texture and storage abilities say 10 item storage limit) throw in some metal requirements and you can make lockers, beds, cabinets, I'd also make requirments for NAILS, HAMMER/and or toolbox but we dont have some of them yet if theyre even coming... but if these are made as requirements then the storage capacity should be increased as well... jimbotwix
How does a sofa store 10 guns seem to me more logical to build a wooden box for 6 wood
wingtip
logical? for just 6 wood only? cause you'd see a million of them everywhere and who said anything about storing 10 guns? its not by item count, its by weight in arma 3...havent you noticed different weapons take up different amounts of space? just sayin.... axeman
To put my own idea into this, related to loot spawns. There has been a suggestion on the github of existing houses being allowed to use for housing. Got me to thinking about craftable loot points, but they would need to be in an area where passing survivors could feasibly pass through. A locked base wouldn't allow for passers by to leave / lose their loot in a cupboard, settee etc. A mixture of allowing existing houses to have a lock on the door and then allow for crafting loot spawns within the house, leaving the house unlocked would allow loot to spawn more readily but would allow for passing survivors to get in. Lock the door and loot stops spawning.. Is a bit of a balance between stopping base building from blocking houses from being looted and making the houses upgradable and used as a home / base. Maybe as a start point before upgrading to full base building, a survivor shared house.. FJack
theninja35
I like your idea of furniture, I had an idea like that in Arma 2 DayZ Epoch. I also like axe's idea above.
FJack
+1 Would love to have different storage units. My old bases in A2 Epoch were full of wooden crates made to resemble furniture and appliances. Otherwise it was hard for me to remember where all my stuff was. vbawol
Thanks for the feedback! We will be adding more items in the future like this currently in 0.1 we have: Storage: TiPi Shelf Secure Storage: Lock Box
cring0
Yeah, it would make more sense just to build furniture though. But yeah, I think furnishing one's base has been a popular desire since DayZ Epoch(what with the "Alchemy" script and all). Yeah.
