CrazyMike
Hey Guys/Gals, So not sure if i am the only one with this issue, but i seem to get random FPS drops. I average about 50 FPS with the odd dip down to 40 FPS. For no rhyme or reason, my FPS would drop down to about 10 FPS. Doesn't matter if I am in town or out in the country, doesn't matter what i am doing at the time. This happens every so often at random times, usually minutes apart from each other (5-10 minutes). I have tried to narrow down what i am doing at the time, what my FPS is before this happens, and see if it cycles (certain time gap) and can't seem to see any connection. Does anyone else have an issue? Cheers. swath 3147
orangesherbet
post your PC specs and note whether you are in combat- what weather is currently stuff like that, might help narrow down the issue Demonpwndu

Uro
I haven't had any FPS drops other than the usual Arma3 fps drops I get in certain areas, nothing Epoch related. CrazyMike
not sure what it is - I have been paying attention and notice it more in Epoch but do notice some in other game modes - Maybe game quality? I'll try and turn down settings and see if it changes.
Jayro
Intel i7-2700k 16gb RAM GTX 660 Ti I haven't had regular frame drop like CrazyMike says. The rare spike that I may have, I usually assume it's a normal A3 issue.
Uro
Does this happen with vanilla A3 too? You could try dialling down your in-game graphics settings, especially the post process stuff. I think I used to get issues like you were saying by using the Nvidia Geforce Experience settings or similarly extreme settings for my card + Arma 3. Here's a snapshot of my A3 video settings on my GTX 650 Ti Boost SC 2GB for comparison:
CrazyMike
I dialed down graphics and such (turned off Post processing) ect. I was actually talking to someone (can't remember their name) - he mentioned it was server side. Whenever loot is spawning in. I have paid more attention, and it does seem that way. When i am travelling fast into a city, i get the very brief FPS drop as well as if i am running in the desert and come across a house (has loot in it). Mentioned this happens in Arma 2 and 3 ... and it seems that he was right. Don't think there is nothing to do about this. It's very brief as well, so not a huge issue. Hope this helps

TuBz
I'm having very similar frames to CrazyMike...spec's similar as well: i5 @4.2 16gb 2400 ram GTX 660 240SSD main drive though as Not played A3 before epoch realistically.. it's installed on the 2tb spinning drive:)..might change this once a3 takes over everyday from a2 epoch. I do run much higher res than most at 2.5k x 1440 on one of those cheap 27" korean crossover monitors... Frames for me when good 60fps.. but when bad.. have seen them drop to 10fps.. very sluggish then.. again no obvious reasons... but in the games defence...NOT being an ARMA 3 player I have done NO grafix tweaking at all.. just threw the game on the machine and off I went.. IF someone would like to point me in the direction of a nice guide for A3 settings..I'd be happy to try again with suggested settings.
Richie
IF someone would like to point me in the direction of a nice guide for A3 settings..I'd be happy to try again with suggested settings. TuBz install Geforce Experience and let it choose the optimal settings, ArmA 2 and ArmA 3 are supported games, You'll see a huge difference :) You also have the option to disable the optimal settings and revert back with 1 click, plus it has loads of extra features such as recording and streaming. LadyCadaver
I noticed last night, that when some people were joining the server it would cause a massive dip in my FPS. Don't know if it was just chance timing. Will see if it happens on my next session.
Kiory
Could be related to the change of time, I know when the time changes it's very sudden and can cause a very temporary fps drop, but goes back to normal straight after.

KamikazeXeX
I'm suffering from drops too 50 down to 30 average usually drops to the point it stutters for a few seconds 10-20FPS then goes back up to 50, i can achieve 60FPS no problems in ArmA 2 OA Epoch so i know its not hardware related settings have been on default medium, high, very high and ultra, no difference to FPS but still get the big drops every few 10 seconds and then periods of no issues System Specs CPU: Intel i7-4820k @ 3.9Ghz RAM: 16GB (8x2GB) Kingston Hyper-X 1333MHz DDR3 Motherboard: ASUS P9X79-LE GPU: XFX DD HD7950 OS Drive: 120GB OCZ Solid-3 SSD Game Drive: 2TB Seagate Barracuda 3.5" SATA-III 7200RPM 64MB Cache
