I want to host an official hive vanilla Epoch server...what are the rules?

Chris9183

Question

I searched the forum and either missed it or this hasn't been answered yet (probably missed it). I want to host an official hive vanilla Epoch server (meaning the database is shared with the official hive servers). I have a beefy dedicated machine that will run the server 24/7 on Windows Server 2008 R2, and I have a good up-speed that can support a large amount of players. I'm security+ certified and will soon be MCTS certified and have plenty of experience with networking and servers and hosting DayZ servers in particular so hopefully I can host a server worthy of being an official hive one.

I just would like to know if there are any special requirements/rules/etc I must take into consideration, and how I would go about linking my server's SQL database to the official hive. Also, does my server need to be "approved" by anyone in the Epoch dev team before it's allowed to be official?

Is there a knowledge base anywhere that contains this information?

Thanks in advance.
