DayZ 1.8.1 Update and Arma 2 112555 Update: Epoch update required for server owners?

As the title says, the DayZ 1.8.1 update is released, as well as an Arma 2 update to 112555. I run an Epoch server, and am wondering if an Epoch update will be required for the server to function, or will I only need to update the @DayZ folder and the Arma 2 files?

Is it likely that all the epoch servers will take on the changes of the vanilla mod? or will many just pick and choose? I get a little confused between how epoch works versus the main mod.

(plus, any idea when DayZ Commander will have these updates?)

I wish it did because we would have them awesome trip wires they have in the mod

Well I've put together a test server on my local machine and when I run the new epoch (with the new Dayz and the latest Arma 2 beta) the server crashes when I try connecting to it, with the following error before closing:

 

File mpmissions\DayZ_Epoch_11.Chernarus\mission.sqm, line 1312: 'Mission/Sensors/Item0.enter':"" encountered instead of '='

 

So I dove into that file and found that line, but it's identical to nearly every other part of the code in that file and I honestly don't have the first clue what to do about this one.

 

My client has the latest dayz, epoch and beta installed as well. Any ideas? Anyone else having this issue?

Got my server reverted back to DayZ 1.8.0.3 and she's running like a champ again.

 

Until Epoch releases their patch, you have to run 1.8.0.3 version of DayZ. The newest Arma 2 update works without problems, only the new DayZ version borks things.

The regular Arma 2 DayZ mod is separate from Epoch.  It doesn't use anything from @dayz, just @DayZ_Epoch.  You don't have to have the DayZ mod installed to run Dayz Epoch, just Arma 2, Operation Arrowhead, and the Epoch mod.  It's okay, I was confused about this a while back too, I thought Epoch required DayZ since its a mod of a mod. =P
