[Release] Dayz.Epoch.3d.Editor.Live.Mission.With.Database.Interaction

Mine came back with "False" after that command in the ARMA2NetExplorer.

 

What version of Dot Net are you using.  I seem to recall a post concerning Windows Server 2012 r2 not working due to it having Dot Net 4.5.1 installed as default.

You put @Arma2NET and Arma2NETMySQLPlugin folders in the server's root folder right?

And also the Databases.txt ? (In the Arma2NETMySQLPlugin folder and also in your C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local\Arma2NETMySQL folder in the server)

In the server go to : \arma 2 operation arrowhead\@Arma2NET and run the Arma2NetExplorer.exe

Then paste this inside: Arma2NETMySQLCommand ['dayz_epoch',"SELECT InstanceID FROM character_data LIMIT 1"]

If you see a result (like: [[["11"]]]) then everything is fine...your .sqf is wrongly written, we'll get to that after.

If you see an error there then go here: C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local\Arma2NET and check the latest log....what error does it say at the bottom ?

Report back :)

 

ps: you start the server with the parameters like the one i have in my .bat file right? (adding that extra ;@Arma2NET)

My folders look okay, the mod is running fine, the log show me the result. but in game it aways return <null>.

You have to use some code together the init or in the arma2net to unblock the hive or something like that? Because it's strange, in the mission editor it works fine, but in my server root it dont work, even the log returning the result.

 

There is my version of arma2net: "2.3.0.0" and arma2netmysqlplugin: "1.0 Beta 3".

This i confusing...let me give you an example....

First of all the editor is server and client together, so no need to separate those two...but the real server is different. Some things run in the server some in the client. And if we want to send the server some stuff then we do it with publicvariableserver command.

 

In your dayz_server/init/server_functions.sqf put this:

//At the top put this line (right under the other call compiles
server_requestQ =  compile preprocessFileLineNumbers "\z\addons\dayz_server\compile\server_requestQ.sqf";

Then a bit further down where the hiveext functions are put this:

myserver_hiveWrite = {
    private["_mykey","_mydata"];
    _mykey = _this;
    _mydata = format["Arma2NETMySQLCommand ['dayz_epoch',""%1""]",_mykey];
    MY_SQL_RES = "Arma2Net.Unmanaged" callExtension _mydata;
};

Then in your mission file open your publicEH.sqf and search for PVDZE_veh_Publish. Under that put:

"PVDZE_myselectQ"   addPublicVariableEventHandler {(_this select 1) call server_requestQ};

Ok so far ? We have created a way for the client to communicate with the server to be able to send PVDZE_myselectQ and all its parameters to the server.

This way its more secure cause we dont expose the SQL query on the client files...of course we havent made the file server_requestQ.sqf yet, or the client call to the database.....so now we have.

 

Make a file inside folder dayz_server\compile\  called server_requestQ.sqf

Inside it put:

Now somewhere in your mission files...like for example the init.sqf at the bottom...or wherever you want, do:

_pid = 1; // This here is an example to show you how to send variables to the server.. If you see above, we are taking _pid and put it in the SQL query.

PVDZE_myselectQ = [_activePl, _pid, "cocowantsINST"];
publicVariableServer  "PVDZE_myselectQ";

I know all this looks like a mindf....but...with this way you are sure :

a) Your sql queries are safe in the dayz_server

B) Your mission file is smaller in size cause all the trivial stuff are in the server

c) Once you get used to this you can code easier.

 

Notice the _case  in the server_requestQ.sqf ? This works with the variable we send:

PVDZE_myselectQ = [_activePl, _pid, "cocowantsINST"];

so maybe we want to get something else...or maybe insert something to the database...then we can simply do:

PVDZE_myselectQ = [_activePl, _pid, "whatsmyHum"];
publicVariableServer "PVDE_myselectQ";
waitUntil {!isNil "yourHum"};
hintSilent format["%1, str(yourHum"}];

and then in the server_requestQ.sqf we create a new case

	case "whatsmyHum":
	{	
		_key = format["SELECT `Humanity` FROM `character_data` WHERE `PlayerUID`= '%1'", _pid];
		_result = _key call myserver_hiveWrite;
		_select = _result select 0 select 0 select 0; //because its an array and it looks like this [[[11]]]

So we use the same code but play with the _case.

And you can add more and more parameters if you want to the PVDZE_myselectQ and of course get those in the server_requestQ.sqf

 

Like i said you can skip all the above and just do all this in the client side...just copy/paste my SQL call..

Now if after the above you still get errors....then its some weird windows crap....and i cant help you there...you have to find the solution yourself in the Arma2Net forum.sorry

Hmmm are you using my launcher. You are using the tbb4malloc_bi.dll. I hear that can cause errors.

Try my .bat file instead. If that doesnt work there is another malloc staring option you can try.

Search this forum for that dll name. I read it somewhere. Cant do it now cause i am on the iphone.

Ok, I am not sure what is going on.  Building keybinds do not seem to work for me.  When I try to build, page up/down do nothing and space bring up a menu to command the AI player.

 

Also, is there a way to get markers in the mission.sqm working?

The answer exist in the installation page and also in the comments..

Keybinds dont work in the editor...thats why i force build after a few seconds...and markers also wont show made the traditional way..the have to be converted the editor way..make a marker than save the mission, then open mission.beidi file and see at the bottom..thats how editor uses markers

Crashing after loading the mission. Any ideas?

 

hmmm its crashing right when its about to query the database....try this first to see if the sql server is actually running and the arma2net can connect to it.

 

In the arma2oa root folder go to : \arma 2 operation arrowhead\@Arma2NET and run the Arma2NetExplorer.exe

Then paste this inside: Arma2NETMySQLCommand ['dayz_epoch',"SELECT InstanceID FROM character_data LIMIT 1"]               <----notice the dayz_epoch...thats the database name...change to yours here.

If you see a result (like: [[["11"]]]) then everything is fine...with the code  and the connection...the problem is in the starting .bat file

If you see an error there then go here: C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local\Arma2NET and check the latest log....what error does it say at the bottom ?

 

If the code executed fine...then in your starting .bat file try adding this extra parameter:

 -malloc=system

It's definitely database connection issue. I don't get any result from Arma2NetExplorer.

 

Like i said :  then go here: C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local\Arma2NET and check the latest log....what error does it say at the bottom ?

Yes, I did and it's connection issue. Pretty much used same connection info that I have in my hiveext.ini for my local server.

hmm ok...you do have both Databases.txt files where they should be right?

ex from my locations:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Arma2NETMySQLPlugin

C:\Users\Sandbird\AppData\Local\Arma2NETMySQL

 

and in both files you have something like:

mysql,dayz_epochDB,127.0.0.1,3306,dayzuser,sqlpassword

and the mysql server is actually running on your PC..and has a database called (ex from above: dayz_epochDB)  (if you are trying to connect locally that is...i dont know where you are trying to connect).

 

 

Just use the Arma2NetExplorer and keep trying till you see a result coming back...Only then you have everything set up and you can move to the editor.

Either your mysql server is not running or the user/pass is wrong, or the ip you put is wrong...or you have firewall on and the port 3306 is closed ?
